What's with the planet hating?

My copy of PSU STILL isn't here (been about 2-3 weeks now...), so I asked to try my friends again to practice my controlling...and stuff.

I'm walking around, and find a guy that starts a fun conversation with me. We decide to get off the colony and go somewhere interesting. I ask him about Neudaiz.
"NOOBdaiz?! No way!" And about 10 people nearby start flaming the planet. I like Neudaiz personally, but decide to forget about.

Someone then says, "lulz why dont u jus try moaNOOB rofl" and everyone starts flaming THAT too.

Why does it seem like Parum and the Guardians' Colony are considered SOOO much better than the other two?

People complain the game is too easy sometimes, yet avoid the very planets that would present a fun challenge to them. Go figure.

Parnoob just isn't as funny is it? Though calling the GC the n00b Colony could work. But my guess is that people hate on Neudaiz and Moatoob because they like things to be really easy.

Neudiaz: White Beast has been and will probably continue to be a popular run.

Moatoob is a desert planet ravaged by war and it shows. It wouldn't make a hell of a lot of sense for it to have a lot of plant life on it. I will concede that a bunch of rocks and sand isn't visually appealing to most but for the kind of planet it is and the history it's had, it at least makes sense.

Moatoob is a desert planet ravaged by war and it shows. It wouldn't make a hell of a lot of sense for it to have a lot of plant life on it. Yeah, but the issue is that most people don't care about the story. I doubt that even half of the games population even read the Glossary at the vision phone to get some background about the story.

Oh, I know. You're absolutely right. I only wish more people did so they could at least understand why the planets are like the way they are. I tend to be less critical of Moatoob for that very reason.

I havent seen anyone refer to Moatoob and Neidaiz as MoaNoob and Noobdaiz, at least not that I've acknowledged. In my eyes, considering Moatoob and Neidaiz tend to have the more frustrating monsters to fight(Status afflictions and worms), anyone who calls them "Noobish" is just someone who cant handle the 'harder' missions, and I use the term harder lightly.

Personally, I like all three planets. Though at current I spend most my time running White Beast S with my PM, since I own there.

the reason those players where hating on neudaiz and moatoob is because there stereotypical psu players youll find them to act quite the same >_> its in to hate on moa and neu. i mostly see ppl hate on moa though alot o ppl are usually at neudaiz then any of the other areas.

personally I LOVE Moatoob. It has a f'n bar and casino. I'm so use to it being empty when I solo'd DG and DT runs. Its kinda weird to see a couple of full parties hanging down in the underground lake lobby.

I don't like Parum at all. Mostly because of the monsters. I'm so glad Jarbas aren't on Moatoob. Strange that a couple showed up on the Moatoob Winter Event map.

I still don't know why people camp on GC 4th floor. It's like Uni 1 is always full and 3/4 of the population are just spamming away on the 4th floor.

My advice, get some real friends to play with you, friends that you can rely on, and run with them. Forget universe 2 or whatever common universe you're playing on. I play with the same people everyday practically. And when they're not on (usually they are...) I can solo a few frag runs or level some PA's or synth stuff, there's always so much you can do.

Moatoob's a boring dustball of a planet with no interesting features. Deserts CAN be made interesting, you know. Just take one good look at the desert in Monster Hunter, or better yet, MOTAVIA.

My favorite planet is moatoob because of its backstory. Sure we could use a little upgrade in the desert scenery (maybe a cactus?) but that planet rocks. Just wait for some new ice-themed missions (a fierce battle while snow falls) and hopefully there Relics-site. If we got some more of those, the planet would totally own everywhere else.

Plus, they already have the Casino and De Rol Le. Just give the pub some use and we're set.

Also, on the note of getting some friends to play this game with, it seems like none of the friends I usually play games and mmo's with like any of the Phantasy Star games. Their loss, though, right?

Oh, and having different weather in the planets would be great. I could picture winter happening on neudaiz, but the snow doesn't fall. It goes side to side!

Having weather that affects gameplay in subtle ways would be awesome. Suppose there was a monsoon on Moatoob. The sky would be dark, and it'd be pouring rain... and zonde would get a 30% boost. Visual changes like that could help keep stuff fresh.
