When entering another's game, it is always good to greet the current inhabitants. This shows your interest in participating in the activities within, and is only proper. More importantly, if this is a game where people are looking to run arround on Ragol, it is best to ask 'May I join this game?'. You see, running in and just screaming 'TELEPIPE', 'PIPE', 'pipe plz' or any variation thereof is a bit rude. While your intentions of helping may be good, the people inside the game may be waiting on another player, or will simply refuse to let you in on their fun for whatever reason. So save yourself and them a headache by asking if you can participate, it is the proper thing to do.

I have one question thought. Is screaming, "WHO WANTS TO GET IT ON!!???" proper?

Then they should use a locked game. Kicking people out of open games is the rudest thing you can do in PSO in my opinion

asking if you can join in is something i used to do from time to time...lately ive been playing with people i know in real life, so now it seems redundant. if the existing team is waiting for a certain character type and you're not it you might be asked to leave..makes sense to me. but if you're waiting on a specific person, locking the room is common sense. if you don't you may have to kick out a few people and thats just too much typing on the soft kb.

btw, i can think of worse things than being asked to leave a room...fsod, nol, rsod, ect ect...
yoink!

Considering that the subject was about unwanted people joining others' games, I think the proper response would be: "tell them to go make their own game."

Those are the types of people who will say

"stfu i'm not leaving, you leave"

i even mail-ask my best friends if i may join the game (but mostly as a joke/substitute for 'hi').

Sometimes on open games, people join that are way outside of acceptable level gaps, unless they are buddies. I find it to be retarded for a lv134 HUmar to be joining a game with two lv50 or lv60 characters in Hard mode. I generally won't ask people to leave because they're way too strong to be where they are, because a lot of times it's just that they actually do suck and need to be overleveled. But, if they are just going down on ragol and taking everything out before I even see it, I just leave. I'd rather not disrupt the harmony of things, or something. I'm sure lv100+ who can own hard mode with a DB saber will have a lot more fun by themselves than with two lower leveled people to hinder them. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

The honest truth is who gives a fuck? While walking in a gem and yelling pipe maybe rude, most of the people I play with don't care and I don't either, infact when someone joins our game our greeting to them in green, blue, red, or yellow.

I find myself sadly agreeing with Ness on this one . . . <pokes him in the belly> http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Seriously, the game is a community. If you leave a game unlocked, that is seen as a tacit invitation to all. Anybody who walks in has every right to play with you. Granted, it is polite to have some sort of greating other than "PIPE!!!!!1!". Saying "hi" just makes the game that much more friendly. The games are made lockable incase you want to have specific players involved. Just lock and then mail those folks the password, if your gripe is people walking into your game.
The "Uninvited" guests bought the game, same as you. They have just as much right to play with you as your best friend. Granted there are a bunch of 'tards that run around and ruin games for people, but that's a topic for another "Social Tip of the Day"

What each of these social tips amount to is basically courtesy. It's a lot like my "kick-ass factor", you either have it, or you don't. The exact same people are going to respond positively to these "tips" and others are going to continue to reply "negatively." Instead of beating around the bush's branches why not just tackle it at the root and call the dilemma what it is.

80 topics can be consolodated to one and yield the same results here.
