White day is a holiday for guys to give something to the girls that gave them something in Valentine's day. Since in Japan, V-day is for girls to give to guys, W-day is a day for guys to return to the girls that gave to them. What I don't like is that there's no way for a guy to give something to the girl he admires if she didn't give him anything in V-day.

From what I was told earlier in the day. V-Day in japan is where girls typically will give all the guys she considers "special" something (Normally chocolate) She is also "Semi required" to give her coworkers and boss "obligatory chocolate." On white day (which is a month later...) The guys do the same back to any one that gave them a gift on V-day. The guys typically give something like a handkerchief from what my teacher said today. x.x.

biggest thing is valentines day is almost backwards in america compared to japan. in america valentines seems to be more girl oriented where guys give alot more than girls give. where as in japan it's the exact opposite and white day is basically a cheap way to say "thanks for the free candy here's some tissue..."

it's called white day because the gift the guy gives to the girl he likes is generally white chocolate.

and yeah, american valentines is 100% female orientated. well the consumerism part... guys get sex... i guess. but if you need to pay large sums of money to get your significant other to put out than they're not a "girl friend," the word "prostitute" comes to mind.

Well, from my experience (lived in japan for 10 years), it was either objects or cookies given to girls from guys when it came to white day.
