Just wondering because I'd really love to get a pic of my character, especially from the file select screen..

Digital camera or capture card.

In general, only a capture card from a PC or laptop can get it, or some form of camera (digital) with which to take the pictures. Unlike the provisions of a few other particular 360 games, there is no in-game picture taker uploader suite for this one.

There are some of us who have arranged meets to take pictures and upload them. Some of us post that in our sigs.

Depending on your setup, you can try the following:
1. Video Capture Card
2. Digital Camera
3. DVD-Recorder - The idea here is that you'll run your video signal through a stand-alone device with a DVD burner. You can then use some screenshot software to get pictures off the resulting DVD.

Options #1 and #3 will probably give you the best quality.

Most Capture cards are pretty bad at getting great quality. They actually are a back and forth between them and Digital Cameras.

Most affordable Capture cards do nothing close to High Def signals. (Maybe in a couple of years we'll get a true consumer-level High Def capture device) So a lot are delegated to a slightly blurry 640x480 picture.

What this does mean is that it's still pretty decent at capturing closeups, when the character is close so that a higher pixel definition isn't required to get their details like it is, when they're far away.

For group pictures and cases where you want more than a closeup of a character, the digital cam sort of wins this due to capturing a better pixel resolution to get details that would otherwise be blurred or clipped out.

A high def capture device would rule all, though. That's pretty much the best possible option if you can actually get one. You'd get a precise high quality high def picture shot with those. Still, I don't think they've dropped down to the currently affordable range. Not cheap enough to be worth it just for in-game pics.

Is it possible to take pics on 360 without using a camera?

You could use a capture card, but there isn't an in-game screen shot saver if that's what you're looking for.

sorry it took so long to get back to ya. I took that screen with a cannon powershot but the trick is this... I have a samsung 56" 1080p with a pretty cool feature that allows me to freeze the on screen image. Its great for action shots as theres no blurring and it allows me to take several shots of one frame so I can choose the best one. If anyone needs screens id be glad to help.

Picture quality looks good - bet if you sharpened the image with Photoshop or something it would look fantastic! Has a tad of blurriness?

Maybe chaoskila means this? (http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Home+Video/Dazzle/?dz=1)

It doesn't cost 10 dollars, but it DOES connect through a USB 2.0 port. If it doesn't need drivers to run (i.e., you can just plug it in to whatever you want) then it should work on the 360.

If you want to capture high res screenshots of your character in full detail, you should pick up a Blackmagic Intensity Pro capture card and connect the XBox360 through the component input. (It also supports HDMI, but will not capture ANYTHING that has HDCP enabled on it and for some reason the 360 uses HDCP through it's HDMI out... even when not playing movies...)

The card supports taking stills and movies of 720p and 1080i stuff... as well as the lower resolutions.

It's only $349 as well.

It may be expensive to some, but those who may want to use it for lots of other things in the future (Capturing other game shots, walk throughs, maybe even digital HD content from your satellite or cable box), it's a good investment.
