I got a question...

Are the points tied to your account or just that one character?

Alright. You run a mission within the designated set. These GBR missions will award points to your character which go toward a ranking. This ranking (which can be checked with the TTB receptionist in Clyez City) awards you a certain boost to drop rates within the specified GBR missions. An individual player can have a maximum boost of 50%, however when in a party, each player's boost is added together. Therefore, a party can ultimately have a total boost of 300% (six players x 50% boost each). This boost increases the chance of an enemy dropping anything.

And I think boosts are tied to accounts now, not just individual players. Don't quote me on that, though, as I haven't tested it out on my own. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I'm pretty sure they're tied to individual characters, which is a bit of a shame. Ran two laps with a friend, who then changed character and reported no bonus.
