PSU-PC/PS2: Did they do something to the boss boxes?

I haven't played much this week, but I just finished a plains overlord run and the boxes seem different...

It used to be 4 sets of 4 boxes right? I'm almost certain... now it's just 4 sets of 3.

Or maybe I'm having a bit of a lapse, or something.

Yeah it was always 3. I remember trying to knock them out in 1 Ra-spell back in the day....

All of the bosses have 12 boss boxes. At least that I've noticed. They just arrange them in different patterns.

I prefer the Grove of Fanatics / Dual Sentinal 5, 5, 2, or Desert Terror's 4, 4, 4 to most of the other box configurations. Fakis with his two in the middle and 10 on the outside ring takes an annoying amount of time to option. Maggahna and Forest Infiltration with their X shaped box setup is okay, but not exactly the best setup. The worst setup has to be Zoal Goug's lets spread the boxes around a huge field and make everyone run all around to grab them.

I like Fakis's layout because the two important boxes are right in the middle. I like the Ragnus boxes that are in a 2 by 5 layout, I forget if that's Duel in the Ruins or Dual Sentinal. Dimma's layout is okay, Onma's is always a pain (and I think he has 16, 4 sets of 4), but yeah, Zoal has THE worst boxes :<
