With photographing, don't take them spontaniously, try to map out a "composition" or arrangement that looks interesting.

You can snapshot a can in the center of photo..

or you can have it to the side giving it an odd-er place. Its all the matter of how you put things together. Well yeah its hard to snapshot Fireworks, but this is for those other type photos.


Drawing wise, learn to grasp what you see instead what you expect to see.

For example don't draw a fake apple since its an apple.

Just keep at it.

Draw whatever you want to draw, capture what ever moment suits you. You'll find your way.

The only way to learn drawing is by just doing it! Also don't forget you have to develop your own drawing style you feel comfortable with. There is nothing wrong with copying stuff from others, but in the end you only learn how to draw the specific drawing you copied.

Just make sure you keep sharing your stuff with others (like these boards) to receive some critique.
