Alright, so I used to play Phantasy Star Universe a lot 2 years ago, around Christmas time. I quit because all of the people i played with quit. Now I want my new friends to start back up with me, and I am wondering if they changed the game up at all.

-Is there still a monthly fee?
-Any new races?
-Classes?
-Did the humans or elf things get any huge special attacks?
-Anything else?

I like that they re-skinned the levels, and I'm extremely happy that they made a 1 handed weapon class, considering the only melee weapons I used was a single one hander. I will most likely be renewing my account, thanks for the info, I appreciated it very much.

Other than making a post asking about it, you're on the site itself that has a database and tons of other information you can read up on. Psupedia is great as well.

well if you do come back maybe get the expansion to enjoy all the new things there is to offer.
like time attacks , new rooms, new room decors, you can move your room to a diff planet, new missions and a casino. and alot more other stuff to come http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I did the same as you, played from release till a bit after X-mas, but recently came back. When I left there wasn't much in the way of missions, and the games economy took a bit of a hit.

I must say I'm pleasantly surprised at all the new missions, PA's, jobs (types), clothing/parts, multitude of room decors, casino, and so on. The shop search was vastly improved over when I left, JP's were easier to get, meseta drops much improved, the economy on 360 is stable, and PC/PS2 is vastly improved from what I hear.

The story missions impressed me, giving me a feel for some of the offline characters, and general happenings in PSU. The jukebox was another pleasant surprise, as well as the tradable items at the casino.

I also noticed some of the newer animated weapons and line shields (Puyoment Aura, etc..), donation box, trade shop, new room transfer tickets (moatoob, here I come), and other random stuff that wasn't available when I played.

Anyways, I'm starting to ramble. Overall, I'm impressed with PSU, and ST, and glad I decided to give it another try.

I'm in the same boat. I quit around a month or so after the game was released because I was frustrated with how simplistic and time consuming it was. Now that things have changed, I'm considering coming back.

Unfortunately, I'm getting a gameguard error in all japanese text on start up of the game.

Well, it looks like I won't be getting Phantasy Star Universe anytime soon. The only money I have is a gamestop gift card, and they don't have a new or used copy of the game at my local store. I would get it off of their online store, but I guess you can't buy things online using gift cards anymore, which is incredibly stupid.

PSU came out in NA in October 2006. October 24th. Came out in Japan in August.

Sometimes consulting player opinion before getting yourself all hyped over something that won't be released for another few months is better.

It'd suck to just resubscribe because you see Guld Milla in the database hm?

Ahhh, so it has been out for 2 years. 2006-2008.

Oh, and I found a copy of PSU at a Gamestop a few towns away, so I should be playing online either today or tommorow, can't wait.
