Forgive me for rushing this, but I've got to get back to work very soon since my lunch break is almost over and I'm up to my muttonchops in work. <_<

New event
This update marks the beginning of the Dengeki Mission Carnival. I'll have more info on the event for you guys later, but for now, check out this thread (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=169228&forum=20).

Special lobby
Even though the Valentine's Day lobby will still be active, the Dengeki Mission Carnival lobby will go up with it in Clyez City.

New items
There will be new color variations of certain clothes and parts, new room decorations will be added and Shitenkaku's offering box will be updated.

System updates
The photon art balancing update that beatrix posted about last week will go into effect with this update.

Ah, that's part of the reason we don't have it yet; JP doesn't have the PA rebalance, either.

Whoo, we'll finally see how PvP works this Friday.

It isn't in the lobbies; it's just a mission for recruiting party members.

Color variations of new cloths and parts? I guess they mean that last set that came out. Shoot, my hopes were raised for a minute there...

Well, the new room decorations shows promise. Customization is the best part of this game, so getting new options can't hurt. I wonder what they'll be giving us? Also, offering box items are always my style, so that may end up being promising as well.
And yeah, I want easier PA levels too.

Call me wierd, but I'm starting to get a bit agitated by these events. It's great that there are new things to do to change the game up, but it normally means that ST skimps on updates. They're fun, but they don't bring anything to look foward to.

Actually I find the event missions fun as they aren't the typical "Run through a map and kill everything" missions and some of the rewards are nice too. I'm looking forward to grabbing an Electro Heart from this event and it'll be a good way to pass time until the master classes come out in March.

Zorafim
Feb 26, 2008, 03:52 PM
I agree that they're fun. Having a scooter race part way through the Neudaiz 1up mission was a great diversion from the norm. It's just that, it can get old if they aren't switched out, since there isn't much reason to do anything else.

Can someone post more info about this event and the new Ryucross mission?

pikachief
Feb 26, 2008, 04:32 PM
info on the event is in the post u quoted -_-

and the ryucross mission is just a regular mission, except with horrible drops. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Zorafim
Feb 26, 2008, 04:34 PM
There's nothing really special about Ryucross. It's just a normal lv100+ mission with poor drops. It's a relic area reskinned to look like a HIVE, and has the terrible HIVE music (damn, PSIV's last level had better music than that...). No boss so far, but ends with a subboss.
Mind, there are new enemies, but most are reskinned anyway. I believe there are Seed worms, but from what I've heard nothing is really dangerous in the mission.

OK. Just got home a short while ago and had a chance to look more closely at the Dengeki Mission Carnival info on the official site. Really, there's not much there that wasn't covered in that thread I made a few weeks ago, but here are a few minor details.

"Television Puzzle" (the mission where you have to draw pictures using laser fences) will run for the entirety of the Mission Carnival, so from February 28th until April 3rd. It also states that the mission can be soloed, but it is recommended that you have at least three party members. During this mission, you will be able to collect Zon Spheres for use in an item exchange mission.

"Do-or-Die" will be available for two periods of the event. First from February 28th until March 13th and again from March 27th until April 3rd.

"Dengeki Editorial Department" is the item exchange mission that will be available for the entire event. Here you can exchange Zon Spheres and Zon Drops for rare and unique items that are exclusive to the event.

"Dengeki MC Recruitment" is a mission just like the "GUARDIANS Reserves" recruitment missions added for the party missions on each planet. This will be available for the entirety of the event to help you in finding potential party members.

That's all so far. The event site should be updated very soon, so we should have some new info in the next day or two.

What I hate about these is they ALWAYS boost the EXP and raise the cap only 10 levels each time. What's the point? You cap out in a day or two and then it's back to the depressing "EXP FULL" text.

Alright, now that I've got some time, here's some (new) info on the event that just started in Japan.

Just like with most previous events, points are accumulated to unlock panels on the official site which will reveal special prizes for each milestone. These points are awarded to players for completing the event's bonus mission "The Do-or-die Spirit."

At some point after Dengeki Mission Carnival ends, the Holy Ray/D will be awarded to players who complete the quiz mission with all correct answers. (The site mentions that this is an event exclusive item, but the real Holy Ray will be released somewhere down the road.)

The item exchange mission will allow you to trade in Zon Spheres that you've collected in the missions for new items. In this same mission, you can trade convert other items into Zon Spheres. Here are the conversion rates.

Zon-photon x10 = Zon Drop x1
Zon Drop x30 = Zon Sphere x1

And if for any reason you neel the desire to go backwards, you can convert one Zon Drop into five Zon-photons.

The items you can trade for and their exchange rates are...

Dengeki Ticket x10 = Zon Sphere x1 (These tickets are needed to participate in the event missions.)
PA Fragment x3 = Zon Sphere x2
PSU Disc 29 = Zon Sphere x5 ("Brave Fight")
PSU Disc 64 = Zon Sphere x5 ("Floader")
Gudda Dengeki = Zon Sphere x20 (event-exclusive knuckles)
Dengeki Bow = Zon Sphere x20 (event-exclusive longbow)
Onesan's Wand = Zon Sphere x20 (event-exclusive wand, named after Onesan one of Dengeki magazine's mascots)
Soniti = Zon Sphere x40 (lightning element RCSM)

Now for the missions I didn't name in the thread I made a few weeks ago.

"Lightning Duel" - This player vs. player mission will be available from March 13th until April 3rd.
"Lightning Speed" - This is the airboard race mission. No date has been given for it yet.

Those are the basics I've been able to find out. Any new info I come across, I'll be sure to let you guys know.

I had a chance to play the "Drawing" mission earlier. The basic idea in it is that you collect special chips that are spread throughout a couple of blocks. You then warp back to a central area and place the chips in special terminals. This will cause certain laser fences in an adjoining room to activate. Depending on the chips you place in each machine, you can activate specific patterns. If you are able to guess the mystery pattern for the week, you will be able to fight the boss associated with symbol that your party draw. For example, you will get Zoalgoug if you draw a a lightning bolt. If you guess incorrectly, you'll be taken to a large block filled with several dozen Polty, Lapucha, and Kakwane.

I hope the Zon-Spheres come around fairly often. Becase if we're stuck exchanging Zon-photons, we're going to need to get them in the THOUSANDS.

Based on what I saw, 'zon' items were dropping fairly often. Three to four of them appear in the boxes at the end of each block. There were also several locked doors which contained such boxes.

Zon-photons?? LOL I have hundreds of them without an event that drops them constantly, I'll make sure to sell them the day before the event starts, I don't want to end with thousands of them just like happened with ban-photons in firebreak.

So Operation Lightning Cup this summer? xDD

People are getting the wrong idea about this. Zon photons do not drop like candy in this event. Zon drops and spheres on the other hand drop so often that converting the photons into drops is kind of a waste of time.

Where is the main thread? Also, I just got a chance to do the survival mission...and failed miserably lol. I went in killed about 4 enemies and forgot they had super strength and got owned. The crazy thing is that got me a C rank which gave 10k meseta and 350 mission points. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

To access the survival mission you 240 dengeki tickets, which costs 24 zon-spheres.

Three of the four listed bonus panels have been uncovered with over 30,000 points earned so far. Here's what the Japanese PC/PS2 servers have earned so far:

10,000: Two weeks of superholy Photon Fortune. (Standard fair anymore; saw this coming a few miles back. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif)
20,000: 2008 calendar with original PSU illustrations. 500 names will be drawn for this.
30,000: The quiz mission, "Protectors' Choice," has been unlocked.

I really like that calendar; I'd love to have one. The illustrations look to be done by the same person who did the Thanks Festa collage and all of the SD character art that was released just recently in the updated fansite kit.

The problem with this approach is that you can't trade PA frags for Zon Spheres. You can only trade Zon Spheres for PA Frags.

Also, I noticed some of the other people in this thread were planning on saving up thousands of Zon Photons. That would be a complete waste of time. You'll find Zon Drops and Spheres faster in-mission than you will by converting them.

You then move on to the next block in AMF CC. If you are lucky, Rappies will turn up. There is also a small room with dozens of Fire Polty. It is a great place to level up PAs right now.

If you did everything correctly, you'll wind up facing a boss.

It's part of the survival mission, "Do-or-die Spirit." The seventh and eighth stages are released now, for those who like pain. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif I'm guessing Rykros' dark RELICS is stage 7 while Saguraki C.D. is stage 8.

Well, I was just in a team that beat survival stage 8.

Stage 8 is filled with level 130 dark rare enemies
The end boxes gave such completed items as poritan claw, crimsonuc, halp serafi, hyper viperku

Overall, I would say that survival is very fun. The enemies get their power increased by a ton, but the hp is low to compensate. You really gotta use your best dodging skills to win. For once, Sonic Team gave us a mission that isn't "bash the attack button to win".

lolwut? There's nothing but traps and megid every three feet. Practically every enemy hurls megid, and the bloody turrets that pop up based on contact zones (You step in, it pops, and starts shooting) are unbreakable and spam death-balls machine-gun style.

THEN you add on the ridiculously lame drops, and you've got a mission where everyone will rush to run it once or twice, then give up.

Ran it once, went back to White Beast S to find my damn Serafi-senba -_-

tl;dr : Nothing new to see here folks, move along!

Overall, I would say that survival is very fun. The enemies get their power increased by a ton, but the hp is low to compensate. You really gotta use your best dodging skills to win. For once, Sonic Team gave us a mission that isn't "bash the attack button to win".

Of the four weapons, the Lightning Soniti is the best. It fires a penetrating beam which knocks-over all the enemies it hits and casts Zoldeel.

Also, I got brief samples for the Brave Fight (http://www.pso-world.com/items/psu/17/3005/psu_disc_29/) and Floader (http://www.pso-world.com/items/psu/17/3004/psu_disc_64/) discs.

The Gudda Dengeki uses the same model as the Gudda Igga. If you want a decent, badass-looking pair of knuckles, wait for the Igga to be released. The Gudda Dengeki is mostly meant as a novelty weapon.

As for the Drill Knuckles, they haven't been released yet.

Two more bonus panels were uncovered today (and four more hidden ones were added).

70,000: Two weeks of free Lumilass
80,000: New "Television Puzzle" stages were added

From what I've read, the added stages to "Television Puzzle" include new bosses you have a chance of fighting. Sticking with Dengeki's lightning theme, they are Magas Maggahna and Mother Brain.

Four new mystery panels were added to the board, thankfully with (slightly) larger requirements. The increments this time are:

100,000
120,000
160,000
200,000

Otherwise, now you can get S rank even if you play alone: it's possible for one player to draw the Lightning Bolt.

Ah nuts... Protransers getting severely handicapped?! Now that sounds both bad but incredibly fun at the same time. Saving up the Freeze EX for the Hunters in your party to decimate the last group of enemies sounds like the best option to go for but man... what if you get the "dud" EX trap where it doesn't load properly?! >.<!!!

If such an excellent restriction comes onto the EU/US servers, I suppose I'll have to start carrying G and normal traps all over again... Good stuff!

Well, if I'm not mistaken, your party members can also bring one each. I'd imagine that during the first part of the 8th state, they could then drop those ex traps in a designated location. It'd take a bit of organization, and they'd have ot survive till there. But it could ease up the restriction. Haven't actually tried it yet though.

Did someone say muttonchops?!? Looks like I'm not the only one bringing them back!

My experience on the bonus mission is...... using 4 cast Fortegunner is most easily. Just use the rifle with your bullet over 31. Just shoot and shoot again. Most enemies will fall down / stun for a while due to the rifle bullet effect.

If you are not being trapped, you probably can finish stage 8. (Maybe there will be more stages later)

Ice bullet is the best as it easily freeze the enemies. If you still worry about the last 3 Delandians, use freeze trap G is okay. EX trap is not necessary in this mission.

Why I suggest to use cast because they seldom miss the target. SUV is no need, too.

Thats pretty much the truth. But the race isn't going to affect the accuracy to any major extent. Really, a bunch of fGs is all you need.

The mission is less about skill and more about hiding in the corner and sniping. With that said, you still need to be able to think on your feet. Because a bad move or a bit of bad luck can result in death.

I'm really wondering about it. I mean "player versus player" can mean several things. We haven't seen any pictures of peopel hitting eachother. I fully expect to see sega cop out and make a mission where players compete directly against eachother or try to make the other people fail, but don't directly kill eachother.

You can make a race or puzzle type thing interesting. I mean, if you could do something to modify spawns, that would be cool. Like... imagine this:

This is all hypothetical
- All players are put in small rooms.
- Monsters spawn in each room
- After you kill your set of monsters, a switch or series of switch spawn, which would allow you to make the next wave of monsters spawn in ALL rooms.
- After a certain set of monsters are killed, the first one to finish gets some extra boxes.

Now, you could modify that around a bit and still make it fun. Like, instead of one switch spawning, multiple could. And you could make an extra amount spawn on a person to slow them down. Or you could decide which type or element of monsters were spawning next. Something to mix it up a bit~

Really, I don't think actual player versus player would work in PSU. Though really, it didn't work very well in PSO either.

Stage 3:
Deljaban and Gaozoran in Hive. Circular room, with the inner circle as a red area.

Stage 4:
Kakwane and Zamvapas in Holy Grounds. Rectangular room with a fenced in middle square and blocked off square next to it. I think this is actually the most deadly room. - I mentioned before that buffs reset every stage. But this also includes SUV and Nanoblast just for clarification.

Stage 6 rare variant:
Ageeta and Rappy Amure in Saguraki.

Stage 8 rare variant:
Galdeen and Darbelan in Rykros. Followed by the same second part as before with Delnadian.

Stage 9:
Galdeen and Carriguine in Disco Hive. Room is a large square track (like a donut, but square). In dense fog to lessen visiblity. The amount of damage that the carriguine deal is pretty nasty. Even wearing A-rank 26% dark armor with a legless rainbow, I get dealt near 2000 per hit from the rucar (non-crits). So 1 combo easily makes me hit the floor. And the megid deals similarly huge amounts and seems to kill atleast 1 of the ATs in party without even critting and without needing to proc death, just dealt more than their max hp. Example of fog:[spoiler-box]http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f369/Akukame/psu20080305_222431_001.jpg[/spoiler-box]

Stage 9 part 2:
More, even stronger Rucar. This time 3 at once AND the corners of the map are ice trapped.

Stage 10:
Rappy Polec and Svalatus. Haven't seen the map, but supposedly it has some exploding flowers in the middle. And finishes with 3 more svalatus at once at the end.

Stage 10 rare variant:
Rappy Polec and Lutus Shigga. We actually got this one on our run.

Additional information from wiki:
Area Drops:
Stage 01 - [B] Crea Doubles
Stage 02 - [B] Doric
Stage 03 - Agito Edge
Stage 04 - Relic Edge, [B] Psycho wand
Stage 05 - [B] Fukamisakic, [B] Daigamisakic

The exploding flowers can not touch you if you stay along the edges. The enemy spawns are first 4 rappies + 1 jigga, 3 or 4 times in a row. Then you fight 6 rappies. Finally, you fight 3 jigga.

You can get stuff from the boxes. But truthfully, the stuff is not that great. I'm more of playing it just because I find amusement in the mission.

But most of what comes from it is completed kubara weapons. Uranusarac, Hyper Vipic, Crimsoc, etc. As well as Poritan Claws (9* Bear claws that are 25% plasma) and Rabol Poritan. I think the main notable item is one called "Super Drill"

I got a [B]Kanyo from stage 10 Lutus Shigga but I cannot use. XD

-----

Stage 9 , you have to hide yourself at the 4 blue areas (corners) before killing the last enemy or you will be dead (All area explosion immediately)

Stage 10, a sleep/resist is recommended. Many light balls flying from those rappies. If you are sleeping, you will die easily. In addition, the pink area is moving.

Rifle bullet 31 up is good for holding those Svalatus / Lutus Shigga

Now for a little update on Japan's prize acquisition.

100,000: SEGA goody bag. (Ten names will be drawn to receive various SEGA games.)
120,000: Stages 9 and 10 were added to Do-or-die Spirit (http://psupedia.info/Do-or-die_Spirit). (I know this was mentioned a few times yesterday, but it would feel odd just leaving it out here. <_<)

Total points are up to nearly 154,000 as I type this, so we should be seeing the 160,000 milestone reward by this afternoon. Going by the question mark icon given, it should be another in-game reward like the two week superholy Photon Fortune or half-off clothes and parts. Eh... possibly a synth bonus? As for the 200,000 milestone, that one's got a gift box, so it'll likely be another tangible prize that names are drawn for.

Oooh, I didn't think of your other team mates carrying EX traps for you, I wonder if they can hold the full ten and drop them in ones for you... Either way, it makes for awesome team play so pick up parties could either be very co-ordinated and extremely fun or very frustrating.

Heh, I wonder what all those users saying the game was easy is saying now... Chances are though, the EU/US servers will get a much more relaxed version of this event and radically different prizes from the name-drawn one. Of course, assuming we even get to that point total/the event.

Awesome news and updates as always! Those Carriguines sound very lethal... With nothing to subdue safely except high level Rifles, there seems to be a lot of love going to Fortegunners now... I shudder to even think how powerful three of them are at three times their normal strength in a very constricted fighting space.

Grenade? Do you want to suicide? Imagine the time you launch one bullet and it throws 3 megid... or just rush towards you

Stage 9 is quite challenging but those Carriguines are usually being blocked by the centre bricks ( they keep running). Therefore the first few ones are not difficult. Only the last 3 appear together suddenly and run everywhere.

It is the most dangerous part of stage 9. Plus you have to move to the safety zone in a few seconds after killing them. Many players die at that moment. You need some luck to overcome this part.

The 200,000 point prize has been reached. Five names will be drawn to receive a one year subscription to Dengeki PlayStation. And with that, the next four bonus panels have been added (250,000, 300,000, 350,000 and 400,000). The GUARDIANS logo icon for each panel indicates that new missions or new mission content should be added when these are reached. I expect the 250,000 point panel to be uncovered a little later today since they're almost halfway there now.

Well, I attempted a recording... ended up pretty much going like this:

Stage 1 goes fine...
Stage 2 goes fine...
Stage 3, lvl 40 in party eats a 2000 damage foie
Stage 4, I'm not sure how, but I think a zamvapas ate the level 130 techer in party. I barely scrape by with level 31+ dark rifle
Stage 5, I'm left to solo... kill a couple kamatouze, get a fukamisaki board... while killing one kamatouze, a badira barta's me for 400damage, then a kamatouze runs by and hits me for 600x3 damage and I die... heres the screen:
http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f369/Akukame/SurvivalDeath01-1.jpg

Guess I'll have to try for something better later...

Also, since I can't sleep. For damage comparison sake:
[spoiler-box]http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f369/Akukame/psu20080309_050608_001.jpg[/spoiler-box]

My level and equipment is the same in both, also same level kamatouze. The only difference is the kamatouze in the mission that killed me is I think shield + boot? I know it DOES NOT have crown and DOES NOT have sword (I believe the final set of them do have sword though).

Anyways, perhaps its only 2x damage? Who knows. And for reference sake, I'm wearing a 26% ice rabol gant with a legless/rainbow (Rabol Gant mainly because its cheap and has head, arm, legs. 26% ice for 100k, I say yes!).

Er.... on topic...

4300 damage is insane even if it is on the weakest defencive class in the game, I shudder to think what buffed Gaozaran Foie could deal if you wore a 50% Sori-Senba on a Cast Fortefighter....

Is it frustrating how things can go rather smoothly one stage then in the next, unlucky stage, the odds are stacked severely high against you and the basic charge attack from enemies become Psycho Crushers?

I have trouble handling the Carriguines on Dark Satellite S2 solo as a Protranser and they are SO skittery that I'm really tempted to make a Fortegunner just so I can shoot them to pieces with a Rifle (and I just finished making three Riflics at 10/10 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) and show them who's boss.

Has the event turned into: "Only players with Rifle rounds Lv. 31+ may join?" or do you think that's going to happen when the EU/US servers receive this event if it's THIS excitingly dangerous? I'm sure we'll get a much easier ride though... Song for Death was testament to that.

Ohh... in that case, I don't suppose you could tell me if there is an ideal set-up party to do this particular survival mission? Such as a pair of Fortegunners, a Fortefighter and a Fortetecher etc.? Or would this be like WoW where once the healer goes down, you're ALL on the way out fairly soon?

Is the single EX trap carrying limit apply on for Protransers or can your team members hold ten and leak them out at you one by one? Is this asking for too much research since it costs something to try the mission out.

just tried out the airboard racing. party mode is 2-6 players. its pretty fun racing against everyone. after everyone is finished, it announces what place everyone got and their time. you dont get any items or rewards however, even for the 1st place winner.

single player airboard costs 25 tickets to play and its time attack. if you clear it in under 1 minute, you get S rank which is bookra dengeki and 25 MP.

Can you elaborate on this? I've been a little iffy on the mechanics of this mission since the description on the site talks about betting Dengeki Tickets and how collecting lots of Zon Spheres relies on your skill and luck. I guess after that article in Dengeki PlayStation a few months ago that reported on a player vs. player mission, I've been stuck on the traditional PvP idea.

Inazuma

duel puts you in a room filled w/ fences, switches, traps and barrels which contain dummy spheres. players go around hitting switches, dodging traps and breaking barrels for dummy spheres. if you die, thats it. you go wait in the end room till the others finish. you cant attack other players at all but you could heal and buff em if you like.

i didnt try out gamble mode yet so i dunno exactly how that works out. maybe it could be a way to transfer tickets to other players.

Oh.

Ew.

I found a little info (a sentence) on gamble mode. It says that it's 240 tickets to enter, but (as with the other missions), this can be split between the entrants. So, it'd be 60 per player in a full party of four. I'm guessing that all 240 tickets are just a prize for whoever wins the duel.

After hearing about duel, this is the kind of cop-out I'd expect from ST. So much for using the event for trying an actual PvP mode to see how the fans like it.

Or Challenge mode, for the matter. Something to make the game...you know...actually challenging. >_<

Well see the thing is, they never said BATTLE mode, they said Player vs. Player, which can be anywhere from shooting and slashing at eachother to playing a game of cards.

The japanese info was always groggy for us, and on top of that we had bad translations. They never specifically said we would be fighting eachother. I told you guys not to get your hopes up until you see what it really was.

When Dengeki PlayStation published one of their first articles on this event back in January, they said that actual weapon-clashing player vs. player was under consideration. However, they still were trying to decide what to do to put everyone on an even field so that the mission wouldn't be completely broken. I guess they were never able to come up with something to get over that hurdle, so they came up with this mission. And as you said, the information given on the Japanese site was pretty vague, talking about betting Dengeki Tickets and the like. That didn't help much when most everyone (myself included) had the idea of this mission being "traditional" PvP instead of what it really is.

Hey Just noticed that the Dengki Cup's site has updated to show a few more Trade items so ill list em here:

15 Zon Sphere's - Drill Knuckle [B]
30 Zon Sphere's - Lavolle lightning (I have Zero idea what this is but the description states "Events to commemorate the pre-electric interlocking made generic shield line. Events goods and equipment with special effects might have." so iam guessing Armour)
99 Zon Spheres - FARUKURO (damn Google) or in Other words "FALCLAW"

oh well, its still fun to do, and id love for the airboard/floader to be included in normal missions somehow. or maybe turn it into an item like the goggles. let players use it during normal missions (^_^)

Luckily Shougai PSO has a screenshot (http://www.g-heaven.net/pso/topics/080315a.html) of the panel before it was unveiled. It was a question mark. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

The next one should be a mission-related prize, but... I wonder what they might add? Maybe another airboard course? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif After that, though, there should be two in-game rewards. I could see them doing a grind boost like you said or maybe even another free weapon for everyone.

And the 600,000 point milestone reward...
an 11th stage to "Do-or Die Spirit - Den" and "Do-or-die Spirit - Geki." Going by what the panel shows, looks like Adahna Degahna will be the boss for this stage.

I haven't added the 11th stage just yet, though. I've got some planning to do to make the tables even out some since now there's an odd number of stages. I think, though, that whatever I come up with, it's going to look a little odd. <_<

If the pattern continues look like next level is going to be 160+ it seems to raise 15 level every 2 stages.

And for you chart why dont you make it into 3 charts of 4 and leave the last one with one empty collume for now?

I have a quick small quetion, I know that on survival mode, they limited the number of EX traps a Protranser can carry, did they limit the normal and G traps too, or can I go old-school on there when the event goes overseas?

Dein
Mar 22, 2008, 01:13 AM
I believe they reduced the amount of normal and G traps to about 3 or so each in the mission. I can't recall for sure since I didn't use traps in that mission but I'm pretty sure they did something along those lines since too many traps would make that a rather easy mission if you knew where the enemies would show up first and one trap would be capable of wiping them out.

Lyrise
Mar 22, 2008, 02:19 AM
all traps are normal, you can still carry 5 of each. Only the EX traps got nerfed down to 1. Cause quite frankly, when you have to run in close to set a trap and set it off, you're putting your own ass on the line since one hit will most likely kill you.

They don't need a reason. Heck, unless they add another drop for Rappy Paska, this event has pretty much destroyed any reason to hunt them at all, since Survive mode has been outputting Halp Serafi drops (completed) at a rate infinitely many times more than what the bird would drop.

I would say that most level 130 teams will fail survival 3-5 times before passing it.

Expect the same class elitism/level elitism to occur as did during the 1up cup. People will want to pass the bonus as many times as possible and good teams will be demanded as a result.

The hardest part about survival is definitely the boss. The boss can rip a full team apart in a short time if not careful and attacks are not as easy to dodge as in the prior stages.

For those who've been wanting a better look at the Airboard racing mission, you can find a couple great videos here: http://www.geocities.jp/pusu_jam/

The site is mostly Japanese, but it isn't hard to figure out where they are. Under the "New Mission" header, there are screenshots of the airboard race, with links to the videos directly below.

They look like fun to me. I always enjoyed the Floader race section of that 1Up mission.

You know sometimes, losing is half the fun.

The funnest experiences in my 4-player splitscreen PSO days was the days when me and 4 other friends got pwned by a boss until we ran out of scapes to take them with.

Having an extra of dengeki is fine since the bonus is very fun.

"But EX missions were fun and we got bored of 1UP Cup!"

The EX missions missions were fun because of the crazy drop rates. Looking past the drop rates, the EX missions were not fun. The dengeki bonus is different.
