Just out of curiosity.
And of wondering which is the most common.. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I only play the Piano. Grade 4 atta mo, but 5 on Theory.
I can sing pretty well too, but so long as it's an octave lower than what it should normally be. I have to strain myself to reach middle C... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I used to play the Piano, wish I kept on going. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I played the Alto Saxaphone, but the last time I played was like 8 years ago. I was never that good to begin with. I used to sing, but then puberty hit, and things wnt downhill.

My sister quit playing Piano too and regrets it.
But then again, if she ever feels like playing she can just pop round to our house and invade my bedroom http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

What grade did you get up to, or did you just play for fun? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

It's a generic-ish Yamaha C-40. Nothing special, but a reliable piece of equipment, regardless.

I play a ~MEAN triangle. *ding* *ding* *tink* .......

Actually, I can play piano / keyboard by ear, although not exceptionally well.

Y'know, I never really understood that. I can understand the 'buzz' people get out of having the best of the best, but in reality they only have the same functions as all the others.

Well, I think "best" is really a matter of personal taste... Different guitars will produce a different sound. When you get into electric guitars, the differences become even more vast, especially when you start taking amplifiers and foot pedals into the mix.

Then you, my friend, are not a guitarist. It's about tone, action, playability, and a few other things. There is most certainly a difference in playing a 500 dollar acoustic or electric and a 1000 dollar one. Granted price isn't everything but if you go into the guitar center and play a 2500 dollar acoustic, it sure as Hell sounds like a 2500 dollar acoustic (and plays like one too).

I, myself, own a laughable Johnson acoustic, a resonator do be specific. It gets a bluesy sound though I don't play hardly any blues. The metal disk, if it's not obvious, gives it the signature sound. Despite costing me 125 dollars used, this is a prime example of an excellent instrument for a cheap price.

On the other hand, I have my Jackson electric guitar. It's not a Jackson Performer with a Floyd Rose and Seymour Duncan's or anything. It's the exact same guitar but with cheaper innards, oh and it's body is composed of five pieces of wood. For those who don't know, finding a large piece of wood with no knots in it is difficult. Cheaper instruments get more pieces of wood glued together (and they do not fall apart under any circumstance like one would think) but they lose tonal quality. My humbucker, the dark pair of pickups by the bridge, is of an unknown brand http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif I scrapped the original humbucker that came with the guitar, it was junk. My guitar teach actually sold me this one which he thinks is a Super Distortion or something. It really kicks in my guitar.

Shligg, you're right - I'm not a guitarist. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif
I do live with two, though. I can understand what you're saying about action and tone and whatnot. I mean, my sister always goes on about loving the action on her Fender Strat., and I guess you want to feel comfortable with the feel of it, then you're going to have to go with something more expensive...
I don't really know what I'm going on about. Excuse me ._.

I can tell the difference (tone wise) between an expensive guitar and a cheaper one, though. My Uncle's guitar, for example, cost a hella lot more than my Dad's. I prefer to listen to my Uncle's than my Dad's because I prefer the sound. But I guess when you're actually playing it, you look for more than just the noise it makes...

I wanted to learn how to play bass, but I can't afford even a cheap-o one until I get a job. I don't wanna work yet. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

I do however, have an Ibanez V series accoustic, and it gives great sound and quality.
I only paid $200 + tax as well. (From Ren Fair money I earned, I was so happy. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif)

Sounds odd on an amp though. =/
