Well, while we're on the subject:

ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 series.

Old as hell I presume?

TalHex

Retniwreven

ATI Radeon X1050... I think.
I have to update my motherboard BIOS to use anything better, but the maufacturer doesn't realize this model exists for some reason, so I can't, so I'm stuck with this till I buy a new system.

Being that any system I'd want will cost over $3000, I'm going to use this for a while longer first.

What do you mean flicker?

Retni: when did you get your motherboard/comp?

Nitro Vordex
Mar 2, 2008, 02:43 PM
sometimes, but that just might be your RAM or internets.

TalHex
Mar 2, 2008, 02:43 PM
full screen quality is shitty... rapid movements cause the normally fuild motion to lag cuasing a flicker like effect... you would know it if you saw it...

TalHex
Mar 2, 2008, 02:44 PM
probably internets... i have one GB of RAM

correction for some reason it no longer flickers for me...

Mm, got it maybe four years ago? Five at the most. It's an Emachines system. I tried doing a search on the motherboard model but as far as anyone's concerned it either doesn't exist or they don't have files for it.

Still, I have no issues really. It runs PSYOU just fine, providing I don't mind two frameskip. Frankly, the smoothness of anything too high freaks me out a little.

Lucky, I have 447mb of RAM. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif

Emachines? and you can't find it? Probably means it's discontinued then.

Your card is kinda low end. It's not the worst, in fact it's a step up from nearly any on-board graphics card. It's not going to crush any games but, with proper power, it should keep a steady framerate at low settings.

Who ya talkin' to, Shlig?

That's a weird multiple of RAM. Either way, running on that much is painful.
Go buy a cheap stick of 256 or 512 or something and add it on, it'll help immensely.

I upgraded my system from 512 to 1.5 Gig ram, and 128 video to 256 video for PSU, and I can actually run BB without frameskip now if I feel like playing it.

How much does it cost to upgrade?

Retniwreven
Mar 2, 2008, 08:13 PM
I bought a gig stick for like ninety bucks? I think. I wasn't paying that much attention.

So like a USB flash drive or must it go into the computer?

Retniwreven
Mar 2, 2008, 08:40 PM
Er... USB memory? That'd be news to me. Flash drives are USB, but they aren't like RAM sticks.
It has to go into the computer. It's one of the easier parts to put into a system.
I have to go catch a bus, but I'll check here later. =X

Nitro Vordex

Okay. Yeah, I though I heard of using something that looks like a USB drive and fits like one, but it can act as RAM.
I dunno, it's been a while.

GASP! its a solid memory! (as opposed to a liquid one?)

Liquid memory? That's... uh... not real? >_>
