It's basically their all-purpose edible over there. You've obviously never been to Japan.

My mistake. I forgot that a 2 (or more) click post requires a warning label. In my defense, I was pretty doped up at the time.

No I can't. I've yet to see a single place serving it, or even selling the pans to make it.

The real reason people want to go to Japan is that they mistakenly think Burning Hearts plays 24/7 over PA systems all over the country. In reality it plays only 12 hours of the day and only in Usa.

I want to go to Japan, but really just for the sake of leaving the Country. I would be happy going anywhere. ANYWHERE! But I've not the income nor the time to be able to go on a vacation, nor have I ever had enough of those my whole life....

I would rather go to a country where the locals don't secretly hate my guts simply for being American gaijin baka.

I'll go back to visit relatives, but other than that most of the stores around where I live sell pretty much the merchandise and food I need out of Japan. Plus, the standard of living there is much higher than I'd be comfortable with.

All true for me too.

@Ronin: I thought you spoke Japanese? Can't you read it too?

@PD: Gajin baka? What's that mean?

@Ronin: I thought you spoke Japanese? Can't you read it too?I have a basic understanding of the grammar, can read katakana (but not hiragana), and know about 10 kanji. Keep in mind that the number of kanji you need to memorize to qualify as literate is in the tens of thousands, and katakana is primarily used for foreign words, also I haven't quite mastered verb conjugation and I've forgotten what half the particles mean. ._.;

Spanish is the only language, aside from English I can speak coherently, although I'm quite rusty. .-.

I can understand if someone speaking to me in French is angry or pleased, but that's about it. I can catch maybe one word in sixty of German, and know maybe... twenty words of Japanese?

English is tricky enough with all of its inane literary rules. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I'm currently trying to learn Japanese, I can read a little Kanji, but I still haven't learned the symbols.

Tens of thousands?! o.o

Weeaboolits
Mar 3, 2008, 05:33 PM
Yeah, it's the kanji that made me pretty much give up on it, the language has rather unique grammar rules, it's interesting, also I like the overall sound of the words.

@Ret: English doesn't so much have rules as it does general guidelines of what probably should be a good idea to do most of the time.

Yo, where you live sucks, or they have it and you art lazy.
And going to japan for that shit is not good either. :E
Unless you want to see something else don't go there with that Anime outlook.
It's a two faced country to the extreme. This guy was reading manga laughing and when his business buddies got on the train he flung it away and pointed at it saying some loser was reading manga.
Eff China too my great Grand father left there because it sucked. XD

Well, first, it's octopus.
And I happen to like octopus.
Anime is far from the only reason I would want to visit Japan... and people are two-faced EVERYWHERE. I'm sure that everyone with an MP3 player has at least one or two tracks on it they love but would never let their friends know they listen to it... and that's just a minor example.
