Do you know Will Smith's life story? That dood has done alot in his younger years when he was just starting out, even then he excelled at acting(he'd remember his lines aswell as his co-star's lines for every scene). He really worked his ass off in his early years, so I think he deserves alot of credit for what he's succeeded in doing all through his life.(Infact, bits of his real life have cropped up in the shows and movies he's done. His co-star "Jazz" is actually a long-time friend of his, and various segments of the show are true to Will Smith's life) In the 80's he was all over the place, definitely wikipedia him(and his cast mates).

How is one 'too white' anyway? Because of how he lives, where he lives, how he talks and carries himself? I remember him from the late 80's and early 90's, and from what I recall he was always well-spoken; but always able to show any face or use whatever slang.

I'll take it a step further and say that any african american in America is considered 'too white' by pure African 'standards'. =]
