This is more or less of a followup to the 'word of mouth' poll I did. The only real way that that method doesn't work is if you tell all the wrong types of people. So here let's try and profile the right ones.

Here's some ideas for aspects to go off of (feel free to add your own):

Age group
Gender
Other games they play (Off or online, Fee or no fee, Platform)
Type of interaction (Running solo, in groups)
How much time they have/would want to play (Like number of hours per day, week)

Also think about:

What types would most easily be convinced to start
What types would most likely continue playing for awhile (even if it wouldn't be easy to convince them)

I know this can probably be easily turned into a joke, but please answer this at least somewhat seriously. If you feel you are quite satisfied with how the game has been going, you can profile yourself a bit if you want.

digipen, are you asking as an excercise from a class?

there probably is a target audience, but ST needs to step up their in game. There's alot of players leaving, and that doesn't help any new players to come make a larger community. If the game is fun, then word of mouth will spread naturally. If the game is well maintained, if there's content to explore, if there's fun random parties to hang out with, if there are events; then people will come. Advertising is pretty worthless with out the propper tech support and a free online trial period.

I think the most common age group is a range from seventeen to twenty-one, and there are more males than females. Not that it's wrong to be older and female and play the game (hey, check my profile!), but that's my observation. The rest of the questions, I can't answer because I think they're all too random.

I am ideal for PSU ^_^

Anyone with a massive amount of free time, and has a liking to any type of games with repetition as their main feature.

15-25 + people who love the Phantasy Star name.
Gender: MMOs are actually dominated slightly by females, pay to play ones are like 40% female 60% male I think? Maybe lower.
Other games: No idea, it's hard to peg the MMO market with that.
How people interact: PSU is fairly casual friendly and I doubt even ST knows what people mostly do.
Time: I can play in both extreme bursts (40 hours in the first weekend I got it) or just very little (30 minutes a day if that since Brawl came out.) and still get things done and feel a form of accomplishment.

Age group: 13+ (though I've noticed a good # of 17-29 year olds on 360. Most folks from PSO days stick around. And gamers in general are getting older).

Gender : Appeals to both, though of course males out # females.

Other games they play (Off or online, Fee or no fee, Platform) : I join mainly random rooms and whenever folks have to log off, it's usually for other popular games (guitar hero, halo, Call of Duty, etc.). So I don't really see a pattern of specific TYPES of games PSU players play.
Though I can just imagine it's the type of crowd who likes action RPG's AND team/online play at the same time. (diablo-esque).

Type of interaction (Running solo, in groups) :
I rarely meet or notice folks who mainly solo. PSU is just too boring solo. Much like PSO, IMO.

How much time they have/would want to play (Like number of hours per day, week) :
Honestly, I believe PSU:AoI is made to accomodate BOTH types of players, hardcore and casual gaming alike.
You don't HAVE to:
save up coins from the casino for items.
Spend tons of time to decorate/furnish our rooms.
Start up and maintian a shop.
Rare hunt for parts of an uber rare for looks or function to make your race/class work.
synth armors or weapons for %. NPC's and other players already are selling tons. And can get by now with % under 30%.
Missions are generally short. And we have a wide variety to pick from.
We don't have to rely on a set # of players to join on most missions. Just make a room and jump right in to play. (unlike other MMO's).
We get 2 npc's to help us out to solo by finishing 2 relatively short missions (tuturial + 1st story mode).
But at the same time, there's TONS of things to do for hardcore players as well.

Age: I couldn't say, though I'd imagine someone younger would be more likely to enjoy it.

Gaming experience: Anyone who doesn't have the bar set very high, doesn't expect much from their action-based combat systems, and perhaps are too wimpy to handle Monster Hunter or were not fortunate enough to have played MH online.

Time: Anyone who has an hour or so to kill.

Age group: Nearly any age group can enjoy the game
Gender: Both
Other games they play (Off or online, Fee or no fee, Platform): They are probably drawn to RPGs
Type of interaction (Running solo, in groups): You can do both, but this is a pretty social game, it has its perk because of how neat just idling in a lobby can be in this game.
How much time they have/would want to play (Like number of hours per day, week): You can do anything from an hour a day to hardcore 8+ hours a day. If you want to progress nicely though, I'd suggest like 3 hours a day. Thing about this game is that you can be as casual or hardcore as you want to be, PSU tends to both groups.
