I used one on my PM and it didn't look like much changed so, what exactly do these do?

And are they even worth the 100k I spent on them?

I've been wondering myself... the wiki page doesn't really say exactly what the difference between EX and GH is; only saying that Battle Stat (or levels) are a requirements for using them.

that's because there isn't suppose to be a difference. using an ex device on a pm doesn't make it fight better unless it had a bad AI and it was changed to something that had a slightly better AI

I just said earlier in another one of these EX devices threads:

Somebody needs to sticky what they are.

All a EX device does is allow you to change your PM to a different model that it normally wouldn't be able to become, given that the Battle Stat is high enough.

So does using an EX device on a GH PM make the AI become 'smarter'?

No.

In another question, can one use a ex device to turn a 4xx into a 4y0, then use an old gh device to go up to 4y5. (like if I want a 414, but my bst is too low, can I use the 410 ex device to cheat my way to a 414)

as far as I remember all GH 41x require the same bst to change em to that type using a ex device. same applies for all other models (like all 45x need the same higher bst) not only that but wouldn't it cost more to pull off http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mad.gif

I just rewrote some of that article, part of it now reads:

For example, all GH 420s made from PM Device GH420s, EX Devices GH420s, GH 301s, or GH 302s, are the exact same GH 420.

PMs fed an upgrade device will change models. All evolution devices require a fourth stage PM, production level of eighty.

Partner machine upgrade devices have a series requirement. A PM Device GH4yx will work on any PM in the y series, not allowing a pm to change series.

Partner machine extra upgrade devices have a B St. requirement. A EX Device GH4yx will work on any PM with enough B St., allowing a pm to change series.

Partner machines will not accept devices to become themselves. A GH 4yx cannot be fed a EX Device GH4yx or PM Device GH4yx.

Yes, EX Device GH410 can be used on any PM with B St. 10+ and PM Device GH414 can be used on any GH 410. However, EX Device GH414 has the same B St. 10+ req. as EX Device GH410. This wouldn't be worth it unless you can find an EX Device GH410 and PM Device GH414 in player shops for under 100k total.
