Back in my day, we played our card games using scraps of tree bark with numbers carved into them, and we played them while being tied to sacrificial stone altars, awaiting our imminent death at the hands of cultists.

It would have turned out much worse for us if we hadn't found out that the tree bark contained tiny parasites that only kill insane cultists.

YEAH? well, in my day they hadnt even invented rocks or trees yet, and we had to pull off pieces of our skin and use our own blood to make runes, and we hadnt even invented numbers yet!
