The real reason the server was down.

That actually sounds fairly reasonable...

Air conditioner die? LOL. Man that is some lame issue they have.

On the other hand, this is what i found out of PSOBB end day from the PlaySega.com

-----We regret to announce that you will no longer be able to purchase Hunters’ Licenses for Phantasy Star Blue Burst from the January 9th 2008.

All subscription-based services will be terminating on Jan 9th, 2008.

If you have an active subscription terminating between January 9th 2008 and February 9th 2008, your Hunters’ License will be valid until February 9th, at which point the game servers will be made available free of charge to all previous Hunters’ License holders.

Phantasy Star Blue Burst game servers will be closed down on March 31st, 2008.----

Air conditioning going out in the server room isn't all that uncommon, and there's no way to prevent it. Even the best-kept system can fail, and the sturdiest server will fail without cooling. I figured it'd be something like this, it can happen to anyone.

Wow, an A/C? Hmm, didn't see that one coming, but makes perfect sense. Server rooms do get quite toasty.

So, has any mention of COMPENSATION been made?

The servers only went down over a busy holiday weekend. :/

hah sega can't even keep their air conditioning running right

Well, when the A/C is running nonstop, problems can arise. Parts can wear out, etc.

You act like they're unbreakable or something. Talk to a utility worker, you'll learn otherwise.

A/C huh? At least that's understandable. I'm glad they at least gave us the reason WHY it went down. If Sega would just communicate with us better, they could avoid much of the heat they receive from the community.

enough heat and the servers might go down again

Maybe why they have so many problems then? xD

Wow... So EU servers kept US people authenticated and such? US people need the EU in order to log in? Wow... sounds pretty odd to me...

At least the problem's been sorted out though and shit always hits the fan (I wonder if it did there?) so it's alright.

I'm fairly sure some people will be calling Sega Stupid for having only one Air conditioner unit installed and no back-ups etc. but seriously... these things happen.

I always got more lag at the login screen then the game itself. Always wondered if it was going around the world or something. Now I know.
