Now I know why the mods got rid of the flashing ones. I just read a bunch of topics which ABDUR posted in and my eyes have been watering/hurting for the past 15 minutes. Kinda funny, yet i hate it.

Ok then why are you posting on a site that is for a game that has seizure warnings on it. For that matter, you shouldn't be playing games at all.

The avs were designed as a way to lol at sega's failures and get over some losses that people were taking as a result of rollbacks. Everyone was taking the rollbacks way too seriously, and I wanted to have an enjoyable reason people could stop bitching and hating on sega/psu for a bit, and laugh about it instead.

Apparently the mods thought it was just a fad or trend that was catching on, and didn't want it to infect their site (which btw it would have...there were many unfinished requests that I had to deny).
Either way, it's over with. I got my lulz, I'm ok.

And btw, there is still nothing in the forum rules that states anything about flashing signatures. It remains as something they didn't like and didn't want more of, so they got removed.

Signatures
Signature limits still remain the same as they were before. 600 pixels horizontal, 180 pixels vertical, 35000 bytes max, NOT 35KB. This rule still applies to Flash signatures, do not have Flash movies loading other movies. Do not have midi music auto-playing on sigs and no more than 5 lines of text! The 5 lines of text rule includes line breaks not considering any pictures in the sig. If there is a picture on the sig, the whole height of the sig including picture AND text shall be no more than 180. Do not have HTML in signatures that breaks the forum table and configurations. Sigs that are too long shall be taken away upon our discretion and based on our judgement. Repeated abuse of signature limits will result in having your signature taken away. We will not tolerate repeat complaints of signatures being taken away if they break the rules in any way. Test your signatures in your profiles or offsite.

I don't mind most sigs, as most are just words at the bottom of their posts. Picture sigs, depending on the picture, can look nice to me. Creative ones, like mine, that relate to something they are linked to can be nice. Flashy-blinky-eye cancer sigs do not amuse me.

Well yea, i like most sigs, so ad block and taking away sigs doesnt help.

And I dont mind the flashing sigs getting taken down...but i dont even get to have a sig anymore cuz of it lol..but did anyone even read what sig I was specifically talking about? No? God I hate people going off topic.

Cracka-J...thanks for the sig, they were cool till they were taken away, but everyone, get over it. I don't want this topic locked over stupid stuff that's over.

Well, the funny thing is; my sig doesn't sing, dance, flash or anything. It only gets as much attention as you give it, so yeah if you sit and stare at it your eyes are going to get all wonky. I mean come on I put a fricken disclaimer right on it. Haha =B

What exactly is it? Like a leaf close up? I think the flashing sigs were pretty ok. Though Shligger had a really cool one his cousin made.

I love this sig Moo2u gave me :3

My eyes are fricken drawn to it because your posts+sig usually fill up the whole damn page so whenever i read your posts my eyes water. Heh..stop having so much to say!

The flashing sigs hurt my eyes, and I couldn't read your posts because they drew my attention away from the text. If they weren
t animated or maybe faded color instead of straight flashing they probly woulda' been fine, not that I'm the one to know.

Also, Abdur, what was your previous sig? I can't remember.

I'm tired of seeing everyone's damned quasi-porn lolita sigs. I'd rather not see a 12 year old in a string bikini, thanks.

I'm tired of the clothed lolita ones too. I'm sorry, small kids are not attractive in the slightest. Ugh.

I opened Photoshop to a blank background, used different colors, patterns and transperencies with different sized tooltips and that was the result. I used to have alot more, some pretty psychadelic ones and so on. I have one that with merely afew passes of color, texture and angles, I created a beach, with an ocean, and sky.

My former sig was my WoW character, a drenai paladin.

Don't take it too personal. It's usually case by case or live & learn kind of situation. For example, there is no rules stating about banned members, but it's known by those who have been around: We do not discuss or mention names of banned members here. The same thing about the mods' forum as well.

They are unwritten rules, but they do applied. Strange, but true. ;]

Overly done flashing signatures may be removed because there is a small percentage of a chance that a member or guest on the forum is photo sensitive, and may incurr an epeliptic seizure.

Out of curiosity, how can you apply unwritten rules if a majority of users don't know of them?

Yeah, what's up with that? I am totally failing to see the logic here. If it ain't in the rules, it shouldn't be enforced. And if it IS a step by step thing, why not update the rules? >>

Makes much more sense than making invisable rules that everyone is suppost to know without any warning whatsoever.

The whole sig banning thing is retarded too. I was told to slow it down. So cracka made me a slowed down one. yet it STILL got taken away. I tried mailing Dhylec, and he didn't even answer >_>

iirc, a really flashy sig causes slow-down to the other users. Stop acting like all the mods are on a crusade to GET YER SIGS B&! They're just looking out for other users. No one has been banned for making a flashy sig, have they? No, a mod just removes it, there should be no argument.

Weeaboolits
Mar 29, 2008, 06:24 AM
People were complaining left and right about them, I wasn't at all surprised to see them removed, so why were you?

SStrikerR
Mar 29, 2008, 08:21 AM
I'm not complaining here, just making a little statement. The mods told us to slow it down, so that's what we did, and now we aren't allowed to have sigs anymore.
I dont want the flashing one anymore, i'd like a normal one though. And I have no idea why my previous post was deleted.

Sig is a privilege here, not a right. If you or anyone misuse it, by making others uncomfortable enough to complain, the staff has to do something.

I'll have your (& other flashers') sig enable again, but anything flashing, distracting or such, it will be disable permanently. That's your second chance. That's my deal to all of you. Take it & good luck. ;]
