Online: Ranpegi vs Shato

I don't really have to face this issue because the only TECHER class I play is Acrotecher, but if you did not know, Fortetechers only have access to A rank Tech-mags. Also, 9* Tech-mags are not always readily available to every fortetecher as both Ranpegi and Shato must be found from missions or obtained from other players. So when it comes time to make the decision which do you choose and why? I think the Shato is just awful in appearance so if I was limited to using A ranks I would definitely go for Ranpegi. However, Ranpegi seems to be in short supply compared to Shato thanks to Forest of Illusion. I am interested to know what people think.

(I would add a 7th option: "Why the f*ck don't FT get S-madoogs" but I think everyone already has thought this a number of times.)

Now as an fT I tend not to use TECH-MAGs aside from for buffing, but I personally prefer the Shato over the Ranpegi, just becuase of the looks and the fact that I had a little army of multicolored Satos on PSO GC. If I was brave enough to grind either above 4 then my opinion might change, but right now it's all about looks.

I'd have to go with Shato. When Cat Line is released, it gives a nice bonus to Shato, (along with several of the 'catpaw' style claws, twin snowy, etc).

The bonuses are:

Tech +100
Ment +50
Eva +20
End +1
Def +20
Att +50

I guess it depends on whether or not you intend on using your A-rank TECH-Mags for offensive TECHs. Maybe. If you grind both to +10, Shato has a +139 PP advantage over Ranpegi, as well as a +9 TP advantage. At +6 or +7 Shato gains the PP edge. The TP difference is negligible.

If you're not afraid to grind, Shato is better. I only grind mine to +3 but I still prefer Shato just for the looks. I only use Madoogs for support techs so TP isn't a big concern for me.

Shato beats Ranpegi when grinded. As for PP regen, i'm not sure about, but I couldn't be bothered to care. Shatos are fairly common at FoI, so Shato flat out wins imo.

FT cant use S rank madoogs, but MF can.
my advice to you is to skip both ranpegi and shato and just wait for puushan. it should be released sometime during MAG and is better than shato by far.

I like the pegis(7-9), they make me think of (cute)weird anime bird pets... but I only use rods for attack as FT, so it doesn't matter whether I'm using a pitoc, shato, or, pegi.

Nah, I actually prefer Ranpegi in terms of looks but Shatos are much easier to come by. Especially if you play on Moatoob a lot and get FoIs.

Also Ranpegi, along with other GRM Mags have a small DEF boost too. Not really important for ATs but for FTs and MFs every bit of DEF helps I guess.
