Shit, like its counterpart fuck, is a very versatile word.

Its most common derivative can be used as a noun that describes various forms of objects. Common examples include "Man, look at that shit", "The shit that came out of her mouth was unfuckinbelieveable.", and finally, "Just what the fuck is this shit all about?".

As you implied, shit can be used as an adjective to help develop and bring out the color of many nouns. One user above made an excellent use of this form. Another one that you may find could be "I can't believe how long I've been breathing this shit air.", and many of you have undoubtedly seen the common "Christ what a shit post." or its variant "Well, now, isn' this a total shitfest." .

Naturally, the original form of the word is a verb. Indeed, to defecate. But did you know that the word itself can be used alone and be adequately used as a full sentence, complete with subject, verb, and those whatever clauses?

Shit.

Just now, I shortened this entire post, and its paragraphs with the power of one word. It is truly amazing, the scope of the word "shit".
