Spread Needle - Anything special about it?

Is it even worth attempting to get? Looking at the stats it doesn't look very much stronger.

The grinding doesn't seem agito repca-ish at all. Besides, I have terrible luck grinding S-ranks, let alone getting S grinders above +6 to begin with.

A good atp grind for a shotgun is like a powerful twin dagger. Considering how much ATP you have behind the weapon, I seriously doubt doubling the attack power is going to do much for you.
That being said, if you can get it, go for it. It's definitely my favorite looking shotgun.

ahh the old pso spread needle. The days of suepr 99% damage hacking. Those were amusing, exteremly cheap and everyone had one duing the original Max Attack event.

Shotgun only model for psu seems weird. Guess they can't do the universal weapon usage anymore.

The SN in pso was never strictly a shotgun anyway. Think it was classed as a rifle. Had the RAmar rifle animation anyway. As far as I have seen the SN in psu is a shotgun. It fires like a shotgun, with the cocking action and all.

WHAT :0 Keep in mind sir that it's a SHOTGUN. The att damage on shotguns don't get big numbers. I'd say 200+ is super wicked. Remember to multiply by 5 or more(cause sometimes there's tons of those little numbers poppin up)

Im it looks nice but im not gonna lose sleep if i dont get one......im not really worryin about it anyway. I just wanna max out my main character to 130 (12 levels to go). And get my alt char in the 100 range (which wont be that hard since he is around 60)

I'll have to agree about the nostalgia factor. Once my RAmarl got a Spread Needle, she never (or hardly ever) even touched another weapon ^_^

Of course, now that she's a Guntecher, she won't be able to use it at all, but at least having it will be nice ^_^;;

Yeah, I guess so. I never got any chars over lv 50 on PSO, and never played ranger classes either. 8D Buuut I don't think I'd have found it visually appealing back then either. NOT ENOUGH SHINY. All the better though, now I don't have to worry about leaderboards at all.

we do... it (much like spread needle) is nowhere NEAR as good as the original, but we do in fact get flowen's sword. I believe it's a program DF drop. Also drops on seal of a dark god as well

Lol, I never understood why people always said the Frozen Shooter was "just as good". It's not even arguable. I had a few of both and alternated but COMPLETELY preferred Spread Needle.

1. SN hits multiple enemies which makes tagging for experience easy as pie.

2. Most bosses had multiple parts which upped the damage numbers. (can you say 2000+ damagex5?)

3. SN was like 3 times faster than FS.

Oooh, FS froze things. Big freakin woop. It barely worked (unless you actually looked for one with Hit% which was a waste of time in my opinion). It was slow as molasses too.

Ok, sorry, back on topic. I don't want this to become a SN vs. FS divergence.

P.S. I stopped using both once I got the Heaven Striker set anyway. (Unless people started complaining about lag, in which they did, A LOT!)

How was it slow? It was just as fast as the Spread Needle. (Rifle animation)

and also, the frozen shot had great accuracy, in fact, better than a normal weapon's special accuracy. My RAcast could start with a special attack and hit almost every time.




Overall I just don't think the Needle is worth getting, especially since the leaderboard is most likely tied to one character. I'd rather take advantage of other things MAG has to offer.

I think you'll find this isn't true. SN was classed as a rifle, just like the FS was. So the speed of both guns was the same.

Hmmm. Maybe I am remembering speed incorrectly. I think I might have started using an attack speed unit at the same time I got my Spread.

Anyway all I remember is trying to freeze enemies only to get knocked over b/c sometimes the first two shots whiffed. So no, I'm willing to go on schthack right now and argue whether or not the FS had great accuracy b/c it missed ALL the freakin time. I'm just talking about the normal combo of "normal/normal/special" or " normal/special/special". (I never wanted to try "special/special/special" b/c it almost always would amount to a complete fail on all other weapons.) With Spread it didn't even matter b/c if one shot whiffed, like 4 of the other bullets launched at the same time hit something. All of this is on PSOBB btw.

Yes I remember HS damage cancel too. I think people whined far too much about it though.

I agree that the SN in PSU isn't really worth the effort for what you get.

I think i know the best way to get one, just do c runs. Itll be boring and you wont get any good drops but youll be geting through the missions twice as fast. As for your question, it aint special, but everyone wants one.
