Whatever patching was scheduled for last week will take place during Thursday maintenance. We had to make sure to do the Xbox 360 title update separately tonight because it is a long process that would interfere with this weeks content update, but the PC/PS2 patches don't take much time to update.

For all we know, they are testing the patch on the 360 server before throwing it onto the PC/PS2 server. That way, not as many people complain if it breaks, and they can fix the 360 one while applying the good one to PC/PS2 with MAG. Sounds good enough to me.

I think I may need to do more reading of the official forum announcements rather than going here to read them, because it seems like more often than not--unless it comes from EpisoKaos--the information here gets misleading as all heck.

ChillAura's post--on the 17th no less--says that only the 360 will be getting the patch that we thought we on PC/PS2 would be getting tonight ... yet the general impression here seems to be that PC/PS2 was going to get the same update.

Looking over the whole situation, it seems we on the PC/PS2 side are now fighting mad over a promise which was never made.

And yet--why did we get the shutdown announcement? Did they do something on our side?

Imo, it would make more sense to test the patch on the PC/PS2 servers before releasing the 360 version. If there's one thing we learned from the GBRPF*, it’s that fixing problems with a PC/PS2 patch takes a few hours, while fixing problems with a Xbox 360 title update takes a few weeks. Also, aren’t there more registered people on the 360 version than on the PC/PS2?

My thoughts exactly. All the updates that require a client-side patch have to be implemented today for the 360. I just hope everything goes smoothly this time. I don't even want to think about how many problems would arise if there was another GBRPF* situation so close to MAG...
