View Full Version : MAG Time Attack Hacks? 'O_O'

Edgard
Apr 27, 2008, 11:33 PM
I'm just joking about the hackers, but how the hell can anyone S rank the S mission in 8:00 minutes?

On one occasion I did the run in 7:30 but it was a C run with 3 lv130... What I'm wondering is how did they do it? were they all fortefighters?

The good news is that pc/ps2 players got this godly time record! Great way to represent the pc/ps2 community!

I'm quite sure the japanese players had the runs down between 5-6 minutes.

How ironic. 25th place is a player named noob.

More impressive than the 8:00 time is the solo 8:17 time. With a team, I can understand. But being able to solo S rank in 9 minutes? That takes some work.

I believe this topic was brought up on the official boards and they came to the conclusion that the other members of that party had completed it on S with a faster time...there's several instances of it on the leaderboards.

I can't believe so many people don't think about that when they see a single person with an 8 min time. First thing I thought when I saw it.

I've had at least 4 ppl ask me about that today.

Our team of 2 beast fortefighters,1 human Fortefighter, and 1 Beast Fortegunner Cleared S rank on X-box 360 in 10 minutes flat...It seems alot of it is about luck, as in how the spawns happen(Sometimes mobs run away)... If our time stands the entire month, EnvY and Monster owe us all 20 mill each... Party is NurseTuna 130 Beast Fortefighter,Inuyasha 130 Beast Fortefighter, IceMan 130 Beast Fortegunner, and Kite Human Fortefighter.

Out team -TLM- is currently 10th with a 8:45 time. While I won't give away what we're doing or what we're trying to improve on, all I can say is that there is a LOT we can still try to perfect. 0 glitches/hacks, just smart teamwork and a varied team. It's rough, but I think we can come close to that time if we get everything down the way we want it to go.

Also, a few psow peeps (kietrinia to name 1) can vouch that we are a 0 hack team. We got her on the boards yesterday with a variation of our normal party.

Even if people are glitching, the slowdown will make it nearly impossible for any 360 parties to compete with the PC players.

I dont see the xbox 360 times dipping below the 8 minute mark, even with paradi. We got a 9.39, and it was a good run, but i still dont think it will stay top 100.

Anyone else think 360 and PC/ps2 should have seperate time attack leaderboards? Its unfair, 360 are disadvantaged in that our game just doesnt run as smoothly, but the clock sure does tick as fast. 360 users could easily be locked out of the top 50 in the end through no fault of our own.

Apparently the people doing it for time are not trying to S rank it. I found a nice group and we tried to do it as fast as we could, but we thought you had to S rank it. The fastest we could do it was 15:34. All of us were level 130's. Who knows what time we could have got if we would have skipped the unnecessary monsters. If you are going for time keep that in mind.

No. The party name of the solo person is different. And the team that completed the run in 8:00 has four players....how could this person have been a part of that team??

Cracka_J
Apr 28, 2008, 03:49 PM
The solo person parties with the #1 team on a previous run, different team name. They then later sub out the player, (matt in this case), add another, break their previous records.

Matt stays at his same time since he's not part of the new party.
The other 3, and the new member go to #1, based on their new times.

Party name also changes to accomodate the new party name, while matt is left with the old party name.

Simply put, these were 2 seperate runs. Matt being in the first one, and not in the 2nd run that broke the time of the party he was on.

Everyone's favorite mexican, Jose, got a chance to speak with the GM's on moatoob uni 18 yesterday. These were not the fake parties, he was in there with helper-bot and melchior (sp?). I was in vent with Jose at the time, and he got to ask them about possible cheating/hacks in the time attack. Their response was along these lines:

"We are looking into the possibility of cheating/hacks for the TA. If there are users found of using these methods, their scores will be removed, and the lower ranking teams will be moved up. We will also be editing team/player names (most likely due to some language)."

This is not a direct quote, but the jist of what Jose reported over vent. Take it how you will...but it seems if top times are being made by any kind of hacks, they aren't going to stay there for long.

Constantly hitting those times on S you must be doing it with the same party each time. I just join random parties when I do the mission. If that is what you are doing, invite me so I can get some 13-14 minute runs in as well. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I don't get what the big deal is. If you can help people do runs faster, that'll help us reach our goal faster.

I think it's obvious now that you skip the part with Ash, skip the first secret room, skip the buttons room in caves. What other secrets are there besides good teamwork? If you know anything that can help people speed run it, then let us know.

I'd just like to say that Matt could've actually been the 2nd run instead of the first as well. The order of the two runs does not matter, as the other members of the team would have a faster time. If 3 people from the current first place team did another run with a new 4th, and got say, 8:10 for a time, that person would also appear by themself on the charts, but the three would remain as they are with their faster time.

...and for the record, if people were hacking the mission, it'd be a lot faster than 8 minutes lol

Yup it works either way.

Looks like Reg also beat me to posting about the haxorz. Apparently one of, if not more, of the top times are confirmed as being hack/glitch runs.

I'm pretty sure it's the f'ing never removed (thanks st) megaverse glitch on the final spawn, which would be the only time-wise practical use for it. Expect some times to be removed shortly.

Either way whateva. We landed an 8:31 yesterday anyways, on a run where we encountered a few minimal problems. Sights are on beating HL&P tonight.

All I can say is "good teamwork" is a mf'ing understatement. Swap flawless for good and you have an idea. If one of us messes up, we all fail. It's that tight. TA is teamwork at it's highest level, and that's one of the reasons I absolutely love it.

I hate them too, they cause me so much lag. I also hate Fortefighters because they kill way too fast for anyone else to get EXP and they blow everything away.

yea hacks are being used in game(pc), they had to rewrite the whole program cause a GG update 2 months ago destroyed the one they were useing. It is the same thing as the now infamous 4th floor incident. Exact same thing.

I hate Fortegunners who use rifles, Fortetechers who buff, and Fortefighters who use a high level Jabroga. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif
