My PSII is in need of replacing soon. Won't read DVDs, won't read games, and it is just fubaring all the time.

I have the old style huge PSII. It's been kicked, knocked over, left on for days, been subject to cat hair, dust, marathon sessions when I played EQOA, restrcted ventilation in a crammed space, and used as a makeshift drink table, and it still runs perfect http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

Sounds like mine.
Knocked over, cat hair, dust, restricted ventilation

Mine's in perfect condition.
Never dropped, just a tad dusty.
And we don't have a cat. So no cat hairs here http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Mine is currently in the possession of my sister since she hasn't a DVD player. The thing never broke down on me, but the power cord did need to be replaced.

The sad thing is i babied my Xblox 360, and it died in just over 5 months http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I have had a lucky streak with my 360. I hope saying this won't jinx it. 16 months and still no Red Ring. I even keep it in a fairly unventeilated place, not to mention that during the summer it is hot as all hell.

Yeah, wierd thing: things you seem to pay more attention to to make sure they don't break always crap out on you soon. Maybe it's just becuase you care so much for them when they do crap out it seems too unexpected. And I think dog hair may work better.

Dunno. We put it in a spot the cats can't get to now.
