Old Monsters With New Features ??

It's been ages since I played Rainbow Beast. I don't remember this monter using a shield, is this something new? It's like the same shield that monster at Lightning Beast uses

I've seen that a long long time ago, it only does it when it has a sliver of life left. if youre used to having them killed fast you prob never seen it

It had shield before. Probably when S2 came out. I remember reading about a few gunshots can dispel their shield way back.

hehe that is the SHIELD i always talk about when people talk about NEWMAN NANOBLAST/SUV powers.

Yeah the Kamatozes and now the GainozoSomethings in Lightning Beasts have that Shield barrier field. its one nasty shield - completely nullifying my TECH attacks and bullets (I think it stops bullets).

Strange how hunters can get through that magical barrier.

I SOOOO WANT that as a LIGHT SPELL. Forget RENTIS - i want that Kamatoze Shield.

It makes you wonder what other powers enemies have that we just don't know about because everything dies in three seconds. Maybe Pannons can summon meteors but you never gave them the chance!

I never saw it use the shield for months playing on my techer soloing. But as soon as I played on my gunner he started using it. So if I had to guess I'd say he uses it if you use bullets on him. Which It seems you're doing in the picture there.

That kinda makes sense. When I used to do the map long ago, I was a techer and everyone else in party were hunters.

From my knowledge the shield is 'new'. I never saw it being used when we first encounted it. It could of possibly been given the shield when the other large enemies i.e. the curraguin (sp?) and the ones in AMF base were released, as I believe they've always had the shield ability.

They've had the shield the whole time. It's just that people killed them too fast for them to use the shield. I remember soloing Rainbow Beast B back before holy grounds and seeing it. I wondered what it did since I could still hit it. The only thing I noticed at the time was that it got a new attack when the shield was up (the shock wave). It wasn't until the expansion that the shield started blocking tech attacks. Before you could throw foie and it would go right through the shield. After the expansion it was tech resistant.

They always had a shield, just rarely used it. Also, it seems like they changed the graphic for it in AoI, but not entirely sure.
