OK, so i playd on my lv119 AT20 newman earlyer today but, for the first time since AT was released i felt that playing as an AT was boring simply cuz i hardly do any dmg whit twin pistols or mele weps.

Now i was an FT be4 AT was released but im not too keen atm to play as an FT so my question is this:

Is ther any job other than AT/FT that a newman can be good at and at the same time not be gimped in the dmg area?

As a Newman, you will always be gimped where ATP matters. There's no way around that. Just pick something you enjoy.

I'd suggest you try any of the gunner classes. You may not do much damage with your low ATP, but the SE's can offset, especially since Newman's have the second highest ATA of the races.

Guntecher, maybe? If you were an AT you should already have some techs leveled, and you've already got twin handguns. You won't do as much damage as a Cast GT (for example) but GT is more of a support role anyway and often relies on SEs to get things done.

Try using Range-Mags to supplement your damage. Newmans' high TP will be a big asset, since that weapon uses the TP stat for damage. Only Acrofighters and Guntechers can use the S rank Range-Mags, but the A rank ones are arguably better for damage anyway.

Newman Fortegunner isn't that rough. Only if you have high leveled bullets though. I could do it, I just don't feel like it. Maybe if Sega ever gives us unique items outside of techer, which is doubtful.

I've found that Wartecher does well for a Newman, and I'm also considering Acrofighter, on the premise that the low damage will be marginally compensated for by the speed of attack.

I've also known people to swear by Figunner for a Newman.

If you're looking for a non techer approach, i'd say go acrofighter. RCSM damage will be second to none, your evasion will be higher than any race/class combination, and it breaks the whole "newman techer" stereotype (which i approve of greatly).

Acrofighter. Your ATP is so-so, but your Evade is godlike. Get use to Just Countering everything. And I mean...EVERYTHING.

Then go for some Leg slots and high Evade armor. When you get hit, it hurts real bad wrong. That's when you get hit. IF you get hit. Which doesn't really happen that often.

Hooker

I mean, figh, decent racial bonus, pretty good damage dealing

Humans make better hookers. Newmans are like geishas. Lovely, and out of our price ranges :Þ

Doesn't look terribly geisha-like to me.

At any rate, I've done acrofighter on a newman, your TP is very high so your r-mags pack a punch, also your evp is obscenely high, it's not too hard to survive if you don't get hit.

well i know takt is a newman but has been everything in the fighting classes and techer classes. I'd say just find a class you enjoy and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Also ad a newman Fighgunner you get an ATP boost of 150.

Something fun to note:

lv 119 F newman lv 15 AT has 1778 TP...

But if I switch to GT, I have 1725 TP.

Ya they gave GT a TP boost with the last update.

why bother with weaps like that?
Just use techs and you'll do a crapload of damage.

I've just gone Newman WT in preparation for Masterforce and I'm finding it surprisingly enjoyable - currently at class lv8, Vivi Danga is a great AOE skill and while you're not going to out-DPS many classes, you can certainly make yourself handy.

They're a bit fragile to begin with though, just be careful - at 124/1 I had about 1600 HP and quite often got destroyed by Gaozoran Foie.

Be a fortefighter

I've hit 8144 damage with my newman fortefighter in one hit. Don't let our lower ATP intimidate you. We can do classes nearly as well as any other. My twin handgun bullets on fighgunner and fortegunner do nearly 800 a hit.
