Courtesy of 4Gamer.net, Shougai PSO and the offcial Japanese PSU site, we have a brief synopsis of what will be hitting the Japanese PC/PS2 servers over the next few months.

May 22, 2008
Details here (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=175870&forum=20&17)

June 2008
* A story-driven online event called "Shred the Darkness" will begin. (This will link up with what's happening in Episode 3.)
* Lightning Duel (http://psupedia.info/Lightning_Duel) and Lightning Speed (http://psupedia.info/Lightning_Speed) from Dengeki Mission Carnival will be re-released under the "Past events" category that was recently added to the mission counter at GUARDIANS HQ. These two missions will have various adjustments made to them.
* A new item exchange mission will be released which will give players an opportunity to bring together certain weapons which were obtained through events like MAG and Dengeki Mission Carnival. (Shougai PSO speculates the combination of Sange and Yasha into the twin saber Sange & Yasha as one possibility.)
* Many new weapons will be added which will improve upon the parameters of existing A- and S-grade weapons.
* The wedding and Sonic lobbies will be held during this month.

July - September 2008
* A special mission commemorating the sale of Phantasy Star Portable will be released in AOTI. It will be a single player mission where you team up with Vivienne.
* A new event will begin celebrating the second anniversary of PSU.
* Various new free missions will be released.
* Chapters 7 and 8 of Episode 3 will be released.
* The next GBR will begin.
* Level cap will be increased to LV160.
* The Holy Light Festival and fireworks lobbies will be held during this timespan.

EDIT: Added official site link and clarifications.

When the episode 3 chapters release, can you put a spoiler box to the descriptions? The previous chapters were ruined cause of that.

Yes, of course.

This is what I look forward to, more than just single update

July - September 2008
* A special mission commemorating the sale of Phantasy Star Portable will be released in AOTI. It will be a single player mission where you team up with Vivienne.
hmm, only 1 person and 1 NPC mission? sound like a PSO offline-quest lol
so heh, Vivienne is on PC server too.

* A new event will begin celebrating the second anniversary of PSU.
simply AOI-thank festa I bet.

actually not. those 2 mission is simply a semi-PVP mission. (folder race, and sphere race) They just rip them perminantly for the game to have more variety type of free missions.
at least it is good that they didn't rip the main mission of the event anyway.

But, so This time, they only leak this small info? D:
Last time, I rmr that it say things for 6 months ahead.

I'm really excited for the story driven event. Here's hoping it's as good or better than FireBreak or 1up and not another Festa or MAG

Hmmm, this sounds like a long way off for us http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif Im so tired on how ST slowly
leaks us "new" content. This event better be good as in terms of Firebreak and
1Up Cup.

Just updated the initial post with a few new details.

http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/news/wis/?mode=view&id=670

The story-driven event coming in June will be called "Shred the Darkness." (Well, for short. The full name would be something like "The Absolute Battle to Shred the Darkness." And just because I know it's coming: "inb4DarkBreak.") Going by one of the two screenshots shown, notice we have a Neudaiz RELICS mission and... Firebreak at Raffon? o:

The next item exchange mission has been detailed as one where players will be able to combine weapons from previous events such as MAG and DMC. The staff of Shougai PSO speculate that this might be how the sabers Sange and Yasha could be combined into the twin saber Sange & Yasha.

Many new weapons will be released in June which will improve upon the parameters of A-grade weapons in all 27 categories as well as S-grade weapons in some of the categories.

EDIT: Clarification.

Many new weapons will be released in June, and along with that will be some parameter improvements to A-grade weapons in all 27 categories and S-grade weapons in some of the categories.

Now this sounds interesting. I wonder what they have in mind.

Egg99
May 19, 2008, 09:08 AM
Regarding the parameter improvements... I realize ST is trying to make the game more accessible and everything but shouldn't they slow down a bit? I was never against the system updates that we got in preparation for AoI, as the game is alot more in line with PSO now in terms of player damage ability (albeit with much larger numbers), but does it really need to be made any easier?

I'm really not fond of the idea of all A rank weapons being on the level of a Chao Staff. It's bad enough that thing outclasses S-grade rods, do we really need the rest of the weapons doing that too?

Mysterious-G
May 19, 2008, 09:08 AM
Many new weapons will be released

Don't they say that every update? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif

EspioKaos
May 19, 2008, 09:11 AM
I've made a slight adjustment to the translation. It's worded kind of funny in the original text, but I think I've got it sorted out now. It's not that existing weapons will receive stat adjustments, but new weapons will be added to the lineup which will improve upon existing weapons in all categories of A-grade and some categories of S-grade. I was wondering why something that would've been a system adjustment was listed as an "added item," and I guess that would be why.

Anyway, sorry for the confusion.

That wouldn't be too unwarranted, I reckon, since Firebreak was something like "The Absolute Defensive Game of Flame" or something.

At any rate, the thing with the items sounds interesting. It almost sounds like they are saying that there will be "new" weapons that will just be improved versions of old weapons (i.e. don't expect to see many new weapon models).

EDIT: Sorry, Espio, but I'm going to have to go with the Google translation: "The story of the black tear-linked online event, held absolute Vernichtungsgedanke." Is that some German? lolwtf

I find that considerably unlikely, as hackers would likely have found the offline data for those weapon models by now.

This is... Fairly underwhelming, actually. Story missions and a new event, I guess it's not too bad... Hopefully, the items that are released will be worthwhile.
Speaking of hackers, I haven't noticed much of their efforts being flaunted. I've hardly seen any hacked weapons, besides Elsydeon and Sange/Yasha.
