New system! The....Phantom? What the....

I just heard of this thing yesterday while watching TV. It's supposed to be out by Christmas 2003, other then that I don't know anything about it. I did see a comic on Penny-Arcade about it, they gave me their web site, but for some reason they're site won't load on my computer. So ya, if anyone can give me some more info on what the hell the Phantom is, that would help.

i heard about it, and i was laughing my ass off while readin it at IGN (http://xbox.ign.com/articles/383/383314p1.html). honestly, even IF the damn thing is released, i really dont see it doing to well, not to mention copyright laws if it can really play games from all 3 systems. If you remember the lil device that was supposed to come out for the DC, you know what im talkin about

I was sent the link for that a few days ago by a friend. Personally I think it's an interesting idea, but odds are since they're a new and unknown company they'll be fighting a losing battle against the big-names. Odds are one of the big-name companies will pick up inspiration (or even buy the company itself) and produce a more successful interpretation.

And yeah, personally, I don't believe it's ever gonna happen. Either hoax, or a bad idea that'll (hopefully) never take off.
MS is gonna be all over these bishes before you know it. Remember how fast they dealt with Lik-Sang? Pfft, they'd make short work of this company. Sony and Nintendo aren't exactly known to take lightly to stuff like this either...

Who knows if it is really true or not? I have a feeling it is, but if i'm wrong, does it really matter? NO! But they need to think about what time they are going to release it. Sega released their systems at the wrong time(with no competition at the time of release) and they didn't do so good(no matter how good their games are. They need to release the system when everybody else releases their system for some good competition(so people would try to look at the differences and might end up buying the Phantom because they think its better.

I just i have a feeling it won't do so well though. People would be already ve saving up for the other new systems(PS3+games/accessories and Xbox2+games/accessories)or just buing games/accessories for the systems of this generation(refeered to as next gen, XBX, PS2,GC GBA).


EDIT: not to mention the new gba sp is coming out. But its nothing but a smaller, frontlit, square-shaped Gameboy advance...NO EXTRA BUTTONS! And new GTA's and other good game sequels...i just don't think it will do so well.
