Voices for the PC: Do we have them yet?

Yeah, this issue is as old as the argument PSO vs PSU, but this is still bugging me... (unlike the other, lol)

Are we ever going to get a patch to fix that? And if we did, how do we "activate" them? I want to hear how my characters sound, so that I can fix them for free sometime before the summer is over.

I mean, SEGA has had to have heard about this issue. So there must be some kind of official answer to it. Can someone help me out with this?

Indeed there are. Beasts and CASTs even automaticly say things when they use their Nanoblast/SUV.

Yeah, PS2 has voices, when my caseal SUVs she shouts "Check this out!".

Caseals are the only ones who sound cool and that's when they use SUV, my friend caseal saids "Kneel Before Me..." in a sexy voice when using SUV, makes my pants just a tad bit tighter when I hear it. Everyone else is pretty lame. I actually wish there was a way to go back to grunts for my FT. Hearing "NOW!" every other cast gets annoying.

Cranking up the signal-to-noise filter to exclude all the "OMG EASYMODE SNARK FAILURE OVER 9000" crap, no, I haven't seen anything about that.

Has anyone looked at PSU NA/PC's file system to see if the voices are even included in our version?

This is one of those things I don't think will ever actually be fixed. I mean, they definitely know it's an issue, and have for months since it was first reported, but since then we've heard nothing which leads me to believe they don't care about it and will leave it broke forever.

Well, in JP PC, I see so many cool voice from male cast tho.
for example:

Magashi voice actor(also voice for Cell from DBZ jp) : "Count down to your death."
Hyuga voice actor(AoI only, also voice for Katoru from Evangelion) : "SUV weapon, start program!"
Ethan voice actor(Aoi only, also voice for Domon in Gundam G) : "Everyone, get out from here!! "
raondom voice actor(AoI only) : "This is the end of everything!!"

Holy SHIT Norio Wakamoto did a voice for this game?

This game went up from 2* to 5* just because of this.

Norio Wakamoto also did Barbatos from Tales of Destiny 1 and 2, The Emperor of Britannia of Code Geass, Alexander Anderson from Hellsing, and many more. He's probably the most well-known japanese voice actor because his voice is goddamn awesome.

By the way--anyone remember when people were loudly saying they did NOT want characters to speak and were GLAD that the NA/EU ports gave character voices grunts and shouts instead of actual phrases?

Anyone remember a particular video that mocked the idea of NA/EU voices with a dub of someone shouting "PLAYTIME'S OVER!" every time he cast a TECHNIC?

Granted, lobby/room voice phrases and SUV/NB startup phrases aren't the same thing, buuuut ... I'm just kind of amused at the whole "damned if they do, damned if they don't" situation.

Granted again for a limited time only, it DOES beg the question why only NA PS2's version of AotI got the voices. Was it actually a mistake that those voices were included?

What about this idea (not that it will happen):

- First give us a number of different voice sets
- Then you can select from a number of different lines and grunts at each different trigger (for example melee weapon combo 1, 2 and 3)

You need to voice act each individual line and grunt though, so I doubt Sega will do anything that 'much' work even if they made another 3 expansions.

Yeah, Karen's Japanese VA is Rie Tanaka (most recently famous for the awesome Lacus Clyne of Gundam SEED/SEED Destiny). That's why all the in-jokes about the "Rie Tanaka" studio creating the Serafi daggers (which happen to be Karen's signature weapons) are there.

Didn't know Ethan's VA voiced Domon, though. That officially makes him ten times more awesome than he already was. Anyone who says Laia is better than him after hearing that should get a Bakanetsu God Finger or a Sekiha Tenkyoken to the face. :-D

I was under the impression they were going to add voice options that allow you to give them voices that consist of either grunts or grunts+voices, but they didnt. They just replaced them.

Playing my force on PS2 means i have to turn the sound down, because her voice gets so fucking annoying. So now, i play my hunter on PS2 and my force mostly on PC.

ya, one of my friends is on ps2 and let me hear cracka's and favors voice over vent (his comp cant run psu). I was pretty disgusted at first impression, cracka sounds like he has brain damage and favors is british. oh well, at least I still have my grunts on pc. once you hear the voices, you'll realize it's nothing worth complaining about. I hope these never get implemented on the pc side now lol.
