Mind me, but dammit, my 360 is red ringing on me. I haven't even had the poor thing a month. Guess that's what I get for getting it used. Or using it like a NORMAL GAMING CONSOLE UGH. WHY CAN'T YOU DO AN ALL NIGHTER? WHY!?!?!?!

Also, it's an Elite. I thought those were immune to red ringing or some shit like that. Microsoft! :argh:

Thing I have noticed: Taking off the Hard Drive, when this has happened twice, has reverted the machine back to normal. What, do they program red ringing into those things? :disapprove: Heck, every time it froze up, it looked like an HDD problem. Twice during Arcade games, and once during PSU (like, an hour ago...).

I couldn't register the thing online. Bought this thing used. Probably shouldn't have. Didn't get the PRP from Gamestop (STOP, BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING. THIS IS ALL WE HAVE HERE. SHUT UP RIGHT NOW.) because I didn't have the moola at the time. Nor did I think this would happen. How wrong was I...

I tried calling them (the xbox number thingy headquarters LOL MICROSOFT'S SECRET DUNGEON) up once, but I went around in circles trying to figure out that damn machine until I gave up.

Argh, what now? What the heck do I do now? Am I SOL? Can I reactivate the warranty under me name?

bljalskdjroaijfdoaijdsf I knew I should have gotten a PS3 :| HALP PSOW, you're my only hope.

you couldn't register it online- meaning someone else already registered it?

Elites aren't immune to the rrod, they're just less likely to get it.

Anyway, I looked into it a little, and from what I've read, unless you bought a refurbished console, you should be covered under the 3 year extended warranty. If it was refurbished, it means it had been opened up, and microsoft won't take it anyway. So I'd call 1-800-4myxbox and talk to one of the nice Indian people to start the repair process!!!

If you bought it less than a month, you might even be able to return it to the store and get an exchange. Alot of stores have a 30-day thing if you have the receipt for such things as hardware.

I've had my 360 a month or so now, no Red Ring- yet.

I've always been opposed to buying used consoles, but ended up getting a used Gamecube because of lack of money. For a 360, I wouldn't touch a used one to be honest- I just put out a little more cash (had to wait a little longer) for a new one.. Abdur's right though- alongside Microsoft's warranty, (which may not apply, i don't know), most retailers offer a 30-day exchange policy anyway. You might wanna check it out.

Off-topic, but I noticed in the 360 Manual something along the lines of 'Do not place your 360 on a high shelf. It may fall and break and/or injure a small child  A console that size would down an elephant, nevermind a child  I swear, it looks like a monolith compared to my Wii

That's what I assumed also.

Because less faulty hardware is obviously correct!

Eep. It MIGHT be a refurb...

That'd be nice. :>

Hehe, an update!

Just recently, I called the Xbox Support Center, and didn't get an Indian guy. What luck!

I got my info all updated, and I DO have the warranty, and they'll be sending in the shipping box.

So, I can finally get my POS Xbox fixed. Woo!

This calls for BACON EATING.

When I sent in my Launch console in February, I called them on a Friday, got my coffin on the Monday, and got my (brother's :P) 360 back on the Friday of the same week.

Moral of this story? Don't buy used electronics.

Thusly is why the Nintendo DS was invented - to help stave you through those dark times.

Sweet. Yeah RROD is a pain but at least the console was covered.

Eh, I have other things I can do in the meantime. It DOES suck that I'll be picking up my Ninja Gaiden 2 preorder during this problem. Oh well.

Considering I work at Gamestop, I have some trust in my store and the stores in the surrounding areas. But that is just me, I guess.

Yeah, I'm glad too. It could've went a lot worse. Hehe.
