Where is it? how do I find it? and Where do I soup it up? I keep hearing that term over and over again, k from my understanding so far from all that ive gathered Luck affects drops and grinders, BUT! I have no clue to tell where my luck is or where to get it up, so anyone willing to help me out? I know this has something big to do with everything so I wanna know :-?

if you cycle through the name tags, you'll see some people have stars by their names, thats their luck, the more/brighter the stars, the more luck.

If you push the left joystick in (unless you're on PC) you'll cycle through a list of peoples' information such as name, class, and level. When they have any of these "signs" above their heads, they will sometimes have a little sparkle next to it.

4 little sparkles is 1 star luck (1*)
About 10 little sparkles is 2* luck
And a big golden shiney star is 3* luck

No sparkles means no luck. Also, if you go the shitenkaku(sp?) on neudaiz, you can talk to the shrine maiden and possibley get your luck changed. However, she can also make your luck worse. So if you have 2* luck, don't be stingey. She cannot make your luck worse than no luck.

wow thanks ^^ cleared alot of stuff up, Ive always noticed that little sparkle next to peoples names and mine but never quite new what it was, I would ask and people would just it was the Holy light and never told me what it really did >< but yes thanks ^^

Glad I could help! 1 more thing. It's been widely suspected that 2* luck is actually the best. It raises drop rates high enough that you can get some of the rare stuff without getting too much of the normal dross. 3* just drops everything more.

Of course, this is all just speculation *cough cough*

well how do you feel about it? I mean one day I found a Blackbull, Halarod, Gaozoran Rod and 4 Weld-lines after ten runs through The darkness, and I believe I only had 2 luck. So could it be plausible? maybe each one has a different purpose ^^

Luck increases the drop rate of items that fall from mobs in a level. I am unsure if it effects the items that come out of boxes in a level. And it DOES NOT effect boss box items.

It also, like you said, helps you achieve a better grind.

wow so finding all that stuff was just regular life luck xD go me. *cough* now truth be told ive never gotten a single good thing from mobs >< so would luck only really be good for matierials >_>?

It's good for anything that drops from a mob XD Whether it's a material, a [B], a weapon, or Line shield. Luck just makes it easier to get because it falls more often. So more than likely, you wouldn't have gotten half of the stuff that dropped when you had your 2* luck if you didn't have any at all.

Since this thread is about luck, I'll take this opportunity to voice my hatred for luck. I think its ridiculous. 0 or 1 star luck is so worthless that I don't know why its in the game other than to frustrate players.

PSO's old random system was better except for the really terrible drop rates. I hate having to rely on PSU's servers to dictate whether or not I'm gonna find rare items each day.

What's far-fetched? That the luck of the leader counts towards the entire party? Yes, that's true. If you have 3* luck but the party leader invites you and s/he has 1* luck, your 3* luck won't count. Also, even if you switch leaders mid-mission, the drop rate won't change. You have to abandon and restart with a new leader if you want the drop rates to change.

Dam.. I read this wrong.. I thought it was the other way around.. I've been hearing that If the party leader has 3* luck and someone joins with 1*.. Their 3* luck cancels out.. Or some sh** like that...

Effects of Photon Fortune

* Slightly increases success rate when grinding weapons.
* Increases enemy drop rate.


Although many of these are still widely believed by the general playerbase, none of the following are affected by Photon Fortune:

* Quality of drops
* Chance for super-rare items (such as S-rank weapon boards) to drop
* Item drops from boss boxes
* Synthing success rate or attribute percentage
* Rare spawn appearance rate
* Casino Voloyal slot machine odds

I can't remember where I heard about the leader's luck controlling the party's luck but it was definitely something I read, not something that someone told me.
