View Full Version : Wise desicions. What have you learned TO DO or NOT TO DO on PSU.

Right off the bat I don't play online PSU right now, but I have to say don't bring others with you if your on the hunt for a rare item.

I learned that when playing PSO a long time ago.
Still it applies here also.

Well im learning from the community that when soloing you must

A) Do it on uni 1 or the next most crowded uni you can get in

and

B) Dont bother passwording or even putting a comment/changing the party name to ward other players off just kick anyone coming in

It must improve the drop rates or something because lots of people do it

LOL. If you are playing with a hacked character level. like 200 or your offline character that has unobtainable items for online, I would stay very low (like go solo) until all of what you have opens up to the online public. lol
Then its less of a problem. common sense in most games.

I didn't see why sonic team couldn;t make you play with your offline character in PSU. it was like that for PSO. ah well.

Never do the final mission in story mode wearing a rappies suit. My God it looks freaky and totaly kills the seriousness in a funny way. lol

Never try to knock back a Bil De Vear.

In a party with randoms, knock the Bil de Vears back. This way, you know when it's going to spin and you can dodge it. If you don't, someone else will and you get pwnt :p

Ken_Silver
Jun 9, 2008, 01:15 AM
Well the first five is more of a list of things to do or tips. They're still valid to the topic though. So I'll leave them here.

1) Don't take ANYTHING said on PSO-World as law or truth until you can verify it yourself, enough people on the site verify it or a mod and/or Espio-Kaos says so or says otherwise. (This one is very important.) :D

2) The first one applies DOUBLE for the official SEGA forums... minus the Mod/GM rule. The GM's tend to be wrong too at times. lol... Rollbacks...

3) If you need a party, go the the most spammed mission available: As of now that is White Beast

4) Turn down the volume while on the 4th Floor Guardians Colony. It will be noisy. (PS2/PC servers at least.)

5) Level does not matter in the "Vanda's Nest." A good friend from PSO-world taught me that one. When you're surrounded by a group of Vanda's shooting fire at you, prepare to die. Period.

Now for things NOT to do:

1) Play the game without doing the boring tutorial. If you ask someone how to equip a PA, you're as good as dead. Some new person asked me that. I had to be their tutor. Funny story because I just said the same things that you are told from the tutorial.

2) Go toe to toe with Jarbas. It normally ends with a death dealing megid to your face. I still do it once in a while with a pair of Knuckles. It made a good screenshot.

3) Try to solo any boss at a low level. Took me an hour to solo De Ragan when I was a mere low level Hunter. My party members died while we were fighting him and it took me forever to beat him alone. Which reminds me.

4) Go into battle without Moon Atomizers. Don't count on anyone to have Scape Dolls. Unless you wanna get slammed and mobbed, you are indeed your brother's keeper.

2. never expect your buddies who play online 24/7 to keep ahead of you in levels when you begin a mad 4 day power leveling session.

Be wary of who you play with, even your long time friends get greedy or turn out to be assholes from time to time.

True. It's like that with most MMORPG's.

What I usualy do or have learned to do that doesn't get me into a situation I might regret are these..
(this post is sorta opposite of my whole thread, but ah well. this is only once.)

Always save (if offline) after each grind once you reach level 5 on a weapon. (thats how I got my Chao Staff to 10/10.

(if I were online) collect the rare items you desire in soloing first. then once you are satisfied for life with what you got, you won't have to worry about your greedy freinds you buddy up with, and just let e'm have whats on the ground.

Bring at least 3 scape dolls on every mission if its very difficult even for parties.

Save and prepare as best as you can befor doing anything major (basic stuff)

Soloing or with small groups of like 3 brings benifits and less stress (especialy if they are not little kids)

Ignore the beggers

Watch who you play with. even though they may dress weird, still get to know them. its usualy how they talk and what they open up or talk about that describes who they are.

sometimes keeping a low (or almost unreconizable) profile while/and excelling and pwning by yourself in a major
event(s) is the most legit way of becoming famouse. lol (but its the most difficult route to take.)

Ice attacks and spear laser machines are a pain in the butt. Avoid them.

thats about it. I have more but I will wait a few pages to post again.

IceeLady
Jun 9, 2008, 12:57 PM
1. Stay away from universe 1 -- filled with spammers begging for meseta

2. Do NOT grind above 2 times -- it will fail me EVERY SINGLE time, even if I cross my fingers and close my eyes.

3. I am a Megid Magnet -- if it's thrown anywhere in the room,it tracks me and smacks me in the face.

4. There's no such thing as "ok, just one more run and then I'm going to bed."

5. Server Interrupts visit me frequently. So make sure and grab everything on the field before it happens.

6. I have resists, so USE them - do not forget to use the correct ones against the specific mobs. Sleep resist does not help at all when you're being stunned.

7. Don't even read what the JP servers are getting/currently have -- we will eventually get it ........ hopefully before I die.

The resist one i can totally agree on, but sometimes it's hard to carry them when some maps can give you multiple types of status effects. Most useful are sleep/stun/freeze IMO, the others can be self healed.

Bad Part
1) Lock your parties to avoid leeches.
2) Booting people for slacking off and/or going afk for too long.
3) To stay away from Elites or cheaters =/

Good part
1) Solo'ing means you can spam PA's to lvl them quicker without worrying about you teammates becoming aggreviated from not landing a hit.
2) Spamming a PA that juggles a monster means you and a teammate can gang up on it and quickly finish it off.
3) That bosses are fun to PA lvl off of.

I mostly agree with that (since I do have some pretty weird tastes myself sometimes) but I do find most Male bikini swimwear wearers I've played with tend to be loud and generaly unpleasant to have on your mike. -Asking a protranser to use traps.
