ok im really close to 100% sure that i want to play this online instead of ffxi but i'd like it if someone answered these questions to get me up to 100.

1)whats the level cap, this is the first game with 3 digit levels i've seen.
2) whats the pc/ps2 server population?
3)whats the best race/class for an indecisive player (sorta like a human red mage in ffxi)
4)can i take my pc character onto the psp game?
5)should i wait till i finish story mode before i start online?
6)how addictive is this game? i have a history of playing mmorpg's for a few months then moving on, will this draw me in?

that should do for now

1. currently 130
2. fairly slim from my understanding but i'm on 360 so...yea
3. In the long run race means so little in this game, humans are what your looking for i think
4 when its released we've been led to believe so
5. Its not necessary however it may give you a more fulfilling experience with the online story
6. depends on what your a fan of, specifically game aspects. There's no real way to answer this as its pretty subjective.

1. The current level cap is 130. It will increase in future updates.
2. At peak hours, the PS2/PC servers get around 3 stars on Universe 2, as opposed to 360 getting a couple Universes full. From what I hear, the 360 population is much larger than the PS2/PC's, but the people are less friendly. Possibly.
3. Hmm...for an indicisive player, I would recommend Human. They do equally well with all classes; once you get a feel for the classes, you can always make another character or 3.
4. I'm not quite sure about this one. I would assume so, but I haven't read enough about the PSP game to know.
5. It doesn't really matter if you finish offline Story or not. I didn't; I was too eager to get online at the time.
6. Segac is supposed to update the server with new content about every other week, which usually keeps people interested. Honestly, after a few months, you might get bored with running the same missions over and over again. But, if you find some good friends to hang out and do runs with, you may never get bored. I have some close friends on the PS2/PC server, and we usually do some different missions together to keep things interesting.

I'd say go for it. If you don't like it after a few months, you can always just move on. But like I said, finding good friends in key to keeping the game fresh.

Okidoke, heres my take on things as an Xbox PSU-er who has played since day one but with a years break that finished a month or two ago.

1) 130 (soon to rise)
2) Lower than 360 from what I've been told, but easily enough for you to find friends.
3) I started as a human for the same reason, thats why I stopped for a year, I got bored. Nano Blast or SUV, thats the way to go! So for me, Cast or Beast, though both are designed for a specific skills set (however, race specialisations have been watered down over the course of the games life, so you can generally get away with whatever takes your fancy it seems!)
4) Good question!
5) Story mode helps if you intend to follow the story, but if you just want to play MMO then its not all that important, in my opinion, the story is a really good one, if not always perfectly implemented, you can skip through offline quite quickly anyway...
6) Depends on the choices you make & what you like. I like the story, so I'm hooked to that, plus turning into a 15 foot monster with kick ass plastered all across my characters face!

that should do for now

1) Current level cap at 130, going up to 140 sooner or later
2) Hard to put in numbers, but its kind of "low." Average of 2 stars for Universe 2, which is the major universe people play on.
3) Human is the best race to do everything. As for a job that can do anything, I recomment Wartecher, Acrotecher and Guntecher in that order. All 3 classes can Melee, Range and use Magic (Technics) as they please.
4) From what we know so far we should. The JP servers will be able to, but there's no guarantee that we in the US/EU will be able to. (PC/PS2 only! Sorry 360 people!)
5) Not really, but it wouldn't hurt. But Episode 2 story is online anyway and you kind of need to do that before you can work on the current plot: Episode 3. So see it from that perspective.
6) Depends on what you condiser addicting, most people play this game and then take a break and come back later. Some people play "hardcore" but that's not the majority here. Nevertheless, there is always someone to play with. Even on the PS2/PC servers.

Hope to see you in-game soon.

You can change Universe by going by an orange crystal and selecting it. Universe 2 is the most populated on the PS2/PC server.

Sure, I'll help. You're on PC, right?

Just send me a PM.

Sorry.

Obviously, I don't speak from experience, since I'm on PC, but from what I hear, our server is a bit friendlier than the 360 server. Or to be more specific, I hear that the 360 side has many more d*cks/14-year old kids.

Again, just going by what I hear. ^^;
