The Tale Of series has a few.

Devil May Cry, Megaman Battle network/ A few megaman games based on it.

Sonic technically did the same thing, though it wasn't really "anime" until Sonic X I believe.

Wasn't Pokemon a show/Manga before the games?No, in fact one of the scenes from an early episode was a play on the way a battle starts in the games.

Also the best Pokemon manga is The Electric Tale of Pikachu and the related sub-series.
