Ok me and my friends are considering switching to the japanese version of psu, one of my friends has to get rid of his 360 so we figured if we were gonna switch to the PC version we might as well do the japanese version as well. so a couple questions

1. I went on play asia and Aoti is 50 dollars, do i also need the original to play online?

2. How would i go about signing up for a jp account if i do get it, is it through play sega as well?

3. is there any site where i can get a japanese version of Aoti cheaper than play-asia?

and thats it any help would be appreciated and maybe a link to the japanese playsega site would be extremely welcome.

-you don't need original
-it is different site, I m sure there are many people who can help you with it.
-not sure, you have to find that out lol. and you can't torrent it, because you need CD-key.
http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/ official site.
http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/illuminusgamekey/ get your game CD-key first and then register here for your ID to active

1. You do need the original disc (Aoi). The first run of PSU will require you to buy a copy of AoI so dont bother buying the original version, just get AoI and you'll be set. not to mention the serial key that comes with your game cant be downloaded.

2.if you need to create a JP account, first you need the game, and serial, then you would go here - https://ipas.isao.net/signup_psu/psu/ you'll need a japanese firefox or internet explorer (i used the japanese version of firefox) the red button is where you enter your information and serial. once you've finished that, the blue button lets you log in and enter your payment options. Yes they accept foreign credit cards now, so no need to worry about looking for netcash cards/webmoney.

3. 1$ cheaper :p http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/HCJ-0409.html. but its also based in the US so it may arrive to your location faster IF you live in the US.

you can use the english version of firefox, just goto tools, options, advanced tab, under languages click choose, select japanese [ja] from the list and move it to the top [i think thats what i did]

technically you could just purchase the ps2 version of aoi for its key and "somehow acquire and install" the psujp pc version
yesasia has the ps2 version for $35

so psu is like guild wars where you just need a key and the game to play? so it doesnt matter that the key comes from a ps2 game it will still work on a pc version? also where would i get a pc version?

this seems more and more viable each day non-jp gets dicked. there should be a wiki with information on switching over, getting around, things of that nature.

it's probably possible to switch out the jp data with english data for item names and descriptions, storymode npc dialogue, etc. for easier transition. (cue weaboo elitist scoffing)

nonetheless, checking out the jp data.

I sought that from the first day I started on the Japanese servers. I don't think anyone would be against it.
