I have both of the games that are out, PSU plus the expansion, and was wondering some things about offline mode.

Other than the free missions you unlock are there any other things to do offline? I did play online once and found the experience overall to be much better than the offline one, however I just didn't find it compelling enough to want to pay every moth to play it.

In the online game the worlds seemed a bit more MMO like. Meaning that you would go zone to zone and there were "towns" in between. Also there was an overall structure to the whole thing that made it overall seem less like a bunch of dungeon portals. Is there any way to get that 'experience' offline?

Do any of the zones like the beach and casino exist offline?

Can you deck out your room the way you do online? All I seem to be able to do is plop trophies down, I can't really re-do the whole color scheme from what I can tell or turn my lobby into a bar.

I have a PSP and am hoping that version gets localized as it's multi (non monthly) mode seems to have a lot of the online features that interest me without the fees. However it does lose it's seamless world feel because of the portable aspect.

you'll never get the online experience offline. there are no lobbies other than the main cities/planets and the story mode lobbies. beach and casino aren't offline

im not sure about "My room" offline i also havent found a way to change it but i haven't tried since i beat episode 2.

Humm... So I'm pretty much stuck with running the same handful of offline missions till I get bored then? I mean I could maxx out my level and get all S type weapons but there just seems to be a lot less overall to do offline. Mostly I'm just a little curious why if all the arts on my disc I can't access it in a way other than paying a monthly fee.

Ahh well.

yeah its sad i know, i started playing online a few months after i got bored offline. Sega wants money is the bottom line. All the content's already been bought they just want more for it lol. technically though you should pay to play online, we could always use fresh meat :p and it's cheaper than paying for other MMORPG's. FFXI is $13.95 these guys are only asking for $9.99 or even less if you get the 6month subscription.

Because sega just wants your money. Even though the content is already on the disc that you already paid for, they still want you to pay monthly to have access to it. Count your blessings though, its worse on 360 side. PS2/PC get way more content offline than we do.

Looks like I'll be going online after all, hopefully this week depending on free time. I went back and tried to play FF11 on the PC and forgot how horrid that games combat/grind was (shudder). Anyhow t was PSU or WOW and I'm beyond bored with WoW so PSU here I come.

If you can get on back today, you get to fool around with MAG2 for some easy levels & MP. Not to mention some unique prizes when trade in badges.
