Help w/ Partner Machinery

My brother and I finished beating the PSU Story Mode and now we're both playing Extra Mode with our characters. But my brother really didn't get something. He read somewhere that you can name your P-Machinery when it turns into one of its evolutions. We need confirmation and exactly WHEN and HOW you can name your P-Machinery.

Once it gets to a humanoid form, you can name it.

Takes a while though, although not nearly as bad as online (mainly because of meseta costs.... of course, I'm poor as HELL).

How do you name it? I have raised over a dozen PM offline and I never saw an option to name it.

It asked me for a name the moment it hit it's final evolution.

Eh? Is that on XBOX 360 or something? I never messed with offline much on that.

I'm going to assume this is V1 considering he said extra mode. To level it to humanoid form you have to feed it stuff until it hits level 30. Now if you want it to become a specific PM you're going to have to feed it specific items.

Well my brother's P-Machinery reached LVL. 30 but it didn't ask to name it. =/

Offline
For Story and Extra, you can never rename your PM. No amount of Chapter completion or PM leveling will allow it.

Online
You can name your PM as soon as you enter your room. It's always available.
