80gig ps3 and psu

im having a bit of a problem wih my 80 gig ps3. it seems like the game takes awhile for the game to load. I know that the 80gig uses a somewhat of a software emulation. Is there a way to mess with the settings for it to load faster? im havng the same problem trying to play ffxi on it. I havent updated ffxi yet but it takes very long for pol to load after signing in.

seems like while trying to connect took longer than my ps2. grrrrr

I have the same problem with my 80gig but mine also fails to load the virtual memory during startup at times too and then I have to keep retrying until it 'unhooks'.

I'm pretty sure I have an 80GB, and it does take a long time to start at first. I kind of remember that on my PS2 too though. It also used to not read the memory over and over again until the fifth try or so, but there was a patch that fixed that. Now it only fails its memory thing like once and makes me retry, then it works.
