Um, I actually think that might be real. com.com is registered to C|Net however odd that might sound.

OK, ya wanna know why they can NEVER, I mean NEVER EVER, prossocute or arrest any one for this stuff? If they ever did it would take at least 10000 years for the courts to try every case from begining to end. In Los Angelas the average court time for a class C felony is about 3-5 years for it to work all the way through, class B and A felonys go through in about 2 years, and thats the fast moving ones. All these people being arrested for what would have to be a misdomenoir would just simply plead not guily and jam the courts up. They'd have no choice but to drop all charges on everyone. Seriously thats like a minimum of about 20 million people in the US alone that would be accused of it. It'll never happen.

Doesn't mean they won't try and broaden the scope of the law internationally though. Copyright laws are enforced throughout the world so it can be applied to other countries if they press the issue.

I doubt anything will happen, the sheer number of people would be overwhelming. Senators probably have Kazaa on their computers, they do have kids. Nothing will happen.

I'm sure something will happen, just not to everyone who does something illegal. I don't think it's fair to say that "nothing" will happen, because, eventually, something will.

Well, the odds are more 1 in 20,000, assuming that they prosecute at a maximum of 100 people and half of KaZaA actually downloading legal files (they can't *all* be pirates can they?)...still astronomical odds against you but they aren't nearly as remote.

In other words, adjusted odds of being prosecuted are probably between .005% and .0025%.

You know, by posting this news on the PSO Forum. You're only helping 'The Man' spread the so-called fear.

The only problem is that there is no way to track you. That why people are getting so mad about file sharing programs. Since there is no middle-man like there was in Napster and Audio Galaxy, there is really no one they can go after. Besides, putting most of America in jail will not fly well with the public (need;ess to say).

Er, he didn't say it wasn't real. Hack writers being paid to write scare-articles aren't fake, they're still real. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif All he was saying was that the whole article had a whole "you're going to get screwed" rant slant to it.

Makes sense to me.

The only senseful thing they could do would be to stop all p2p programs, and prosecute the makers of said programs, because as someone previously said, it would simply be impossible to try prosecuting the users.
