Are there any BBA users that don't use PSO's PPPoE mode that have been corrupted by the new double save?

Everyone I've talked to so far has been a modem user.

Kinda off topic, but you can use PPPoE now?

I use a BBA, and I haven't even FSOD'd more than a couple of times, and even then...I'm not altogether sure that they were all FSODs..I think most of them were just a period of lag...considering I have shared Bandwidth in my neighborhood it's altogether possible that it was only lag. There was only one FSOD that I know was an actual FSOD, because my Cube started buzzing.

Anyway...back to the topic. Because the people who have been corrupted had an FSOD during a save (at least the few that I've bothered to read), I would suppose it's entirely possible for your data to be corrupted.

Allwell...it's not gonna stop me from playing. Even if I did FSOD it's not like it would be the end of the world...I have another two memory cards full of level 50+ Characters.

If in network configuration you had to enter a username and password, you're using PPPoE. Most likely, you aren't.

Yes, BBA can corrupt. I have had about 5 friends corrupt so far and two of them I know for sure are on BBA since they told me. I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't have anything to do with your connection type. It just seems like maybe the game itself can't handle the second auto save and just freezes.

broadband adapter user here.

i have only been fsod once, but it wasn't during this "double save" crap, more like a month or two prior. it was also the buzzing fsod, and it happened when i was going to antares 8 from a different ship.

anyway, no courupption here, just giving you some feedback.

I use a BBA and as far as I can recall I haven't had anything happen with the double save. I have to admit i'm not absolutly sure what is refered to as the "double save" but I can tell you of my one experience. The only time I've had FSOD was when I had just finished a Famitsu quest and was heading out into the lobby. The faded lobby background appeared on the screen and that was it. No responce from the controller. I figured FSOD, no big deal, and I shut off the GC and restarted. All I lost was unequiped items which didn't amount to anything.
Is that the infamous "double save" that everybody is talking about??

I use a BBA and it's a PPPoE DSL that used FSOD me every ten minutes so I bought a router. I havent been FSOD'd since I got the router and i belive the cause of the corruption is if you lag really bad you fsod and get stuck above the ships. Thats happened to me when my router was configured wrong. Now that I fixed that I dont get that freeze. When that happend before the patch all I had to do was pull my line I'd disc and save and be fine.

ppp over ethernet is what it stands for, and to break it down even more, point to point protocol over ethernet. And i have a BBA using DHCP, only times i've ever gotten a FSOD is during in/out of game/lobby transportation/bursting, and once during actual gameplay.

BBA JPN user. FSOD'ed jumping from a US ship to JPN ship. It froze, buzzed, and I hit the power. I lost all my items that were on my character but not equipped, which included my 30% hit Red Sword. I almost cried.

BBA, Linksys router, DCHP. No FSOD during the double save, despite my best attempts to make one happen with my test memory card. I've FSOD'd twice, and both times were when transferring between ships (i.e. from Antares to Altair)

What I find the most intresting out of all this is that of all the people who've replied to this thread only.. one has specified that yes, they use DSL that requires them to use PPPoE. Listening to you people you'd think all broadband connections were equal. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

And no, I don't have a connection using PPPoE either. Hurrah, hurrah!

BBA, PPPoE DSL with Earthlink, Linksys router, haven't been FSOD'd yet.

So, there you go.

i've got a cable modem, and a wireless router, with a cable coming off the router to my GC. haven't ever really got a fsod, but my character has been corrupted.. not sure if it was the memory card, or the double save nonsense, but i'm leaning more toward bad card, since it had been acting up before

My friend also got his character corrupted under a road runner cable/wireless network set up. I use the same set up as he does but nothing has happened to me (only a FSOD.)

Could it be possible that one of the reasons for the corruption issues would be other game's save files? Maybe this double save thing doesnt like to live with other game's saves?

BBA, Linksys router, cable connection with DHCP... Only one FSOD so far, which occured when leaving a game (of the buzzing, FROZEN variety).
Otherwise, things have been pretty much perfect for me... Absolutely no disconnections with the exception of one or two directly following server maintenence, and a very occasional spot of lag.
No corruptions, but... I'm still not taking my chances. o_O
