That would probably be another effect of sanity loss. There's a big, long list of the sanity effects on the Internet, if you would care to look for it.

only thing i can think of that's similar to that is this:

occasionally you get a level in .hack// (by occasionally i mean practically every level) but as you play in the level the game does weird things like the tv becomes momentarily distorded, weird colors, static on the speakers, the first time it happened i thought there was something wrong with the tv

Talon, remember, play Hard Mode right off of the bat. I think you'll do just fine. Also, you only control the main character in fights. I like that part of the battle system.

It's a good thing you can control everyone in Persona 4. But, you can switch it so that you control only the main character if you want a bit more of a challenge.
