I'm a wuss and I wasn't willing to risk my HP, so I took Spirit for my S-Rank Twin and I used a Geist Laser. It worked fairly well on the one fight where I would actually use it. (That would be Epsilon in the Tower quests.)

I only use bererk on enemies that won't hit me during my attack, mostly the dragon.

I actually use my Geist Laser for TP regeneration, unless I'm really in a pinch. :wacko:

Even if I have no TP left, I'll probably use it over a Difuid. I'm that opposed to using items in role-playing games.

I use a handful of ranged and melee weapons from pre-ultimate.

FOmarl is fun, but I miss being able to see traps and afk heal.

Being able to buff more than twice per run is nice though.

I've actually memorized where all of the traps are in the Caves. :wacko:

I would walk into a room and say "Okay, this is the one with the traps laid out like this." And then I would just run around and blow all of the traps up.

I'm not so good at memorization, especially with multiple configurations sand some of the longer areas, I'd rather just be able to see them.

I hate it most in ruins since I have to contend with both ceiling traps and paralyze traps. :[

I memorized where traps were for the most part. I did, however, memorize all of the big traps. And I hit them. When I get to higher levels I need all of the Photon Blast I can get, and traps were a great way.

I don't like Berserk because I like having HP. With my luck, enemies would pop up behind me and hit me. Or I'd miss, and they'd hit in the bit of freedom they have.

I remember when percents were a damage multiplier... good times.
Ult DCv2 with a high percent weapon, one second you're struggling to hit for 100, the next you're breaking the DEF barrier and dishing out 800+ crits. Makes me want to break out the DC again, if I could find the game.

omg claws are the worst thing ever, I hate that they have like the tiniest hp, but critical like a mother$%^^%&$%^$^. They need to die.

I have. When they grab me to split into Claws, I can't always make it out. All of the Claws surround me and then the Bulk makes it's way around to me and spits. Annoying. Even more annoying is that Bulclaws never drop their damn rares.

I mean, sure, you could probably hack it to have abnormally low percentages. But, why would you?

I know -5% is possible, but none of my weapons have that because I spent thousands of Meseta on tekking it to raise the percentages. :wacko:

You cannot magically add percents to a weapon. If it is found with zero in a category, it can only have zero. You can find stuff with 5% in a category and when you take it to get identified, the Tekker can only add 5 or 10 percent, and he can subtract them too. 5-10=-5. You lie. And yo breath stank.

Yeah, I've heard tales of truly outrageous percentages on Version 2 weapons. However, I've never played it myself.

DC ranges were -60% to 60% (either after tekking, or tekking didn't change it, I don't remember, I just remember 60% was the maximum) and could not be raised after the fact.

However 60% back then did much more than even 100% in the GC version and later. The common day percents would only influence the ATP bonus of the weapon. So, say... a mechgun that adds 25ATP would instead add 50ATP at 100%. It only really helps much for larger damage output weapons, or when combined with Berserk etc.

The old damage calculation method (DC) would have the percentages influence the end result damage directly. So, if you did 200 damage per hit with mechguns, with 50% you'd now do roughly 300 damage. This allowed for quick mop ups in VHard down the road... for example I had a 60% machine Spirit Gungnir that would crit for 1600+ in Mines... then proceeded to do 8 damage in Ultimate. :disapprove:
