I remember on the FFXI forums, people used to do this sorta thing, so I thought it'd be fun to do here on PSO-W as well. Here's how it works:

As PSU receives updates, they announce them on the official site. Well, pretend YOU are the one creating the updates, and post your ideas for changes to the game here. But do it in the same format as the official site. I'll post "my" update first to give you an example of what I mean.


New Items (AOTI ONLY)

New Voloyal outfits have been added to the casino. These include new colors for all non-Cast players.

Gameplay Updates

Several of the pre-AotI missions have been rebalanced with higher MP and meseta rewards. Enemy levels and exp have also been adjusted as well.

Bullet photon arts will now receive enhanced graphical effects at 11, 21, and 31.

The slicer weapon-type has been removed from the Fortefighter class.

A new option has been added to allow players on PC, PS2, and 360 to adjust TECHNIC effects displayed on-screen. This option will allow players to toggle on-screen TECHNIC effects on or off, as well as lower the TECHNIC tier shown. (Ex: 31+ spells can be lowered to 21+)

Lobby access will now be carried over to other characters. This means that players creating new characters will no longer have to visit old lobbies previously visited by another character in order to gain access to it.

After much deliberation, players will now be allowed to change their character's body proportions at the make-over shop. However, players can only change their character proportions once per month, so we urge players to be careful and considerate when changing their size.

Partner Machines will now be able to have an armor synth trend. Because of this, certain PMs will have a higher success rate with armor boards than others.

Due to their rarity, all boards 11* and above will receive a further increase in their success rate. Boards 10* or below will remain unaffected.



Okay, I'll stop there for now, but that should give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Feel free to add your own ideas for an update in this thread, or criticize mine if you feel my ideas are wrong or flawed. Also, it's not required, but rather preferred that your ideas for updates be at least reasonable or within the scope of the game. So that means no missions that don't exist on the disc, no "black nanoblast with dual axes," or that kind of nonsense. But I do encourage you have fun with it. ^^

Remove all classes except Fortefighter.
Give Fortefighter S rank in every weapon type.
Give Fortefighter level 50 Photon Arts in all stats.
Take out every mission except White Beast.
Remove all clothing from the game except for Voloyal Suits. (This includs male clothing)
No longer have events. Just drop rate and exp boosts for White Beast.
Turn all characters into Beasts. (Your Gender stays the same)
Remove all Nanoblasts except for the Black Nanoblast that dual weilds Axes and Rocket Launchers.

Quick question: Wut? There is an armor synth trend. :disapprove:

I kinda like that idea. Especially for all the melee classes that would want a second chance at making a better weapon. But to keep from abusing the system, maybe limit the amount of times you can trade in a weapon.

New Mission!: Absolute Zero S2! Purify the upper continent of Moatoob!

New Patch!: All Guns will recharge 1 PP at a time at various speeds instead of ticks like the PSP version of the game. This will eliminate any machine gun glitching fully refilling PP.

Sounds like fun.

Gameplay updates:

Gunner type classes will now recieve the ability to fire a charged shot using the Photon Attack button. These shots will do increased damage, and various other abilities depending on the weapon used.

(Some examples)

Rifle (Scope Shot): Charged shot allows the Rifle to do increased damage and will have longer range over a normal shot. It will also have a high chance of hitting the SE assigned to your shot.

Shotgun (Double Fire): Charged shot allows the shotgun to fire twice in quick succession, this takes alot more PP to use, and the shotgun will have to go through a cooldown phase of a few seconds before it can fire again.

Twin Handgun (Overcharge): Charged shot allows the Twin Handguns to shoot at a faster rate. These shots do not increase in power and take more PP (1.5x) to use.

Laser Cannon (Overload): Charged shot allows the Laser Cannon to shoot a stronger, wider blast, therefore hiting more targets. The Laser Cannon will have a short cooldown after every shot before it can be fired again. These shots also take double the amount of PP as a normal shot.

You get the idea. XD I know some of these are a bit lame but meh, It's an idea. If I had some more time to think I'd post better ones than these.

Good ideas. And the reason I wanted to limit the proportions to once a month is so someone couldn't just copycat you on a whim, then change back to whatever. At least by keeping it to once a month, players could customize their character if they think they messed up the first time, but also allow everyone to remain an individual.

idk how being able to change your height once a month is gonna make people not be able to look like u. majority of this game is short people and they can change anything but height so they can already all look like each other, thus defeating your purpose before u had even started :(

idk how being able to change your height once a month is gonna make people not be able to look like u. majority of this game is short people and they can change anything but height so they can already all look like each other, thus defeating your purpose before u had even started :(

True, but I also see a lot of different height variation. Not everyone is short. I'm also talking about body weight too, and I see a lot that are fat, skinny, slender, or "average." Again, a lot of variation. And let's not even talk about the different breast sizes floating around the game with the female characters. Although yeah, with those, most of them are like...F cups.

Considering Sega doesn't have to worry about delivering the MAG extension anymore, we "should" get these updates in a more timely manner. There's really no reason for anything to get delayed any more. But well...yeah, it's Sega, so anything logical can be thrown out the window.

umm better update,

forte fighter class has been given the abilitie to use all mellee weapons at s rank other then the double sabers which will be set at A rank, cards will not be given to hunters, they have also been given s rank pistols, bullets skills for pistols on FFs have been increased to 30. on a note a rank whips may be used by ff now as well however they receive a speed reduction but compensate with a power increase. whip pas limit for ff is 30.

FI weapons selection has remained mostly the same except they have been given access to grenade launchers and axes of A rank. they also have gained a speed bonus when using a saber/pistol combo or dager/crossbow combo or mix. they also receive a speed bonus when equipped with double sabers. A ranks whips have also been added to their pallet.

FG have been given access to A rank axes. they have also been given access to all gun weapons except for bows, all gun weapons will be available of S rank except for gun mags and cross bows.

FT has been given S rank tech mags, several new light based attack spells have been added to the tech library, only is available in the shops, the others are available threw pa frag exchange.

acro techers have received level 50 support techs, to make up for their being no level 51 upon reaching 50 the support techs have been given a special graphic.

tech graphics can be chosen in the options window to be viewable of what level the player chooses.

old pre atoi missions are reciveing an over haul, new items along with the old. rebalanced stats on the mobs, rebalanced leveling, and rebalanced rewards.

all boards to make shop healing items are being removed from the game, all acids but omega acid are being removed from the game, omega acid will keep its icon, truffles and berries that can be used in exchange missions will be kept in game but all berries and truffles not usable will be removed from game, remaining ones will be changed from synthing material to food items and are now edible with various effect. love berries for instance will cause your character to have a constantly happy look and ooze hearts around your body for a period of 3 minutes, also any characters of the opposite gender you come into contact with will also gain the heart effect, the characters effected in this manner can not spread it.

certain room items can now effect synth rates, mysterious lab will increase success rate and increase the min amount of elent %. you may use 2 of each room item in your room to enhance the effect. mysterious meters will speed up synth time and min element %. other room items currently available and available in the future will also effect synthing. a list of what furniture currently available that will effect it will be released shortly. furniture that effects synthing will have an additional window/s that list there effects.

boards have been added to the shop to convert A rank materials into s rank. boards for tier2 s are planed for the future.

boards have also been added to change c to b, b to a, and a to s grinder bases.

grinder boards now require 5 grinder bases to make a grinder, however grinding has been changed.
grinders +1-+5 are now assigned by numeric value to iether be a grinder +1 or +5, grinders +6 and up are now grinders +10

grinding no longer breaks weapons but has a fee to grind. (all previously broken weapons have returned to ?/10 remaining at whichever number ? was previously.)

grinding now has a fee based on the weapon rarity, being 1k per * rarity. grinding fees also increase for every previous grinding the weapon has received. using a +1 grinder gives it 1 grind were a +5 will give it % grinds and a +10 will max the weapon in one use saving money.

fees are not based on which grinder you use.

Other than things like rebalance in v1 missions (all missions having lvl 150+ enemies on S2), I think new techs would be nice, also changes to current techs:
Fire:
Foie - TP boost.
Rafoie - Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Gifoie - Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Damfoie - No change.
New techs:
Nosfoie - Would work similar to noszonde and nosmegid, its appearance would be like the fire ball De Ragan uses when flying. At lvl 21+ would cause knockdown, hits 3 targets. Also hits multiple spots of big enemies. Can cause burn lvl 2 until lvl 10, burn lvl 3 at lvl 11+.
Foieverse - Flames appear on the ground surrounding the character...The flames would be like the fire breath de ragan uses that makes flames appear on the ground, but all around the character that use it. Can cause burn lvl 1, 2, 3, 4 (lvl 1-10, 11-20, 21-40, 41+).

Ice:
Barta - No change.
Rabarta - Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Gibarta - Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Dambarta - No change.
New techs:
Nosbarta - Would work in a similar way to nosdiga, with the ice balls instead of being serpents on the ground, they would fly. They also would appear the 3 at the same time, instead of 1 after the other. At lvl 1-10 it's only 1 ice ball, 11-20 they're 2, 21+ they're 3. Could cause freeze lvl 2 at all lvls except 41+, which would be freeze lvl 3.
Bartaverse - Similar to foieverse but with ice instead of flames...The ice on the ground could be similar to high lvl rabarta's ice on PSO BB.

Lightning:
Zonde - No change.
Razonde - Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Gizonde - Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Noszonde - Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
New techs:
Damzonde - Would work like damfoie, damdiga and dammegid, causing shock lvl 3 until lvl 30 and lvl 4 at 31+.
Rezonde - Similar to Regrant with no HP penalty. Instead of white smoke could be something like small electric shocks. Causes knockback.

Ground:
Diga - TP boost.
Radiga - Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Gidiga - Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Nosdiga - No change.
Damdiga - No change.
New techs:
Rediga - Similiar to Regrant, with no HP penalty. Instead of white smoke could be something like ground particles. Causes knockback.

Light:
Regrant - HP penalty removed.
New techs:
Grant - Similar to foie, Light ball that can cause sleep with SE up to lvl 4 (the one some light enemies use).
Ragrant - Similar to other ratechs, can cause sleep with SE up to lvl 3. Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Gigrant - Similar to other gitechs, can cause sleep with SE up to lvl 4. Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Nosgrant - Similar to Nosbarta, no SE but with 10%/20% more TP than Nosbarta.
Damgrant - Similar to damzonde, SE could be HP steal.

Dark:
Megid - No change.
Ramegid - Hits multiple spots of big enemies.
Megiverse - No change (maybe a little faster, but the other new verse would be as fast).
Dammegid - No change.
Nosmegid - 3 hits in all lvls instead of 2.
New techs:
Gimegid - Similar to other Gitechs, causes confusion up to SE lvl 3. Hits multiple spots of big enemies.

funny thats the only good update of your whole post i noticed :P but w/e its jsut for funs i guess :S

also enzo i like most of your tech ideas except people thinking of more"verse" spells bothers me since regrants and megiverse are supposed to be 2 of their own unique spells.

Megiverse makes a ring and absorbs HP of everything inside of it.

Regrants makes a big circle and push everything away from it but takes away HP from u.

they are unique opposites and it just annoys me a bit when people say there should be more, because it would defeat the purpose of them :S

lol sorry i guess this is just for fun again, idk this is just my opinions im posting cuz this is an internet forum :P

Was trying to think of the same number of attack techs for each element, but couldn't think of new ones to have 6 to each element, so thought of techs like regrant and megiverse ^^;
Maybe whole new techs instead of those verse/re...(dunno how they could be though :<, maybe techs like PSO gizonde, gibarta and gifoie ^^)

If you're referring to the J-sword from PSO, they didn't have visual elements. If you're saying, "Why would you use :light:?", it would be because I think :light: looks the best on steel based weapons; even better put it on the handle in the diamond shapes made from the handle padding.

Only way to stop the seed from spreading is to return to the past. To the start of where the seed is started. A time machine is built to take the Gurdianas back in time BUT!!!!!! the day of the launch there the remaining members of Illumitious STRIKE!!!!!! this cause the time machine to malfunction and the Gurdianas wake up in the middle of a Forest where will this lead them

System Updates:

Resolution changes no longer end the game.
Gameguard has been replaced with a new un-named security.
Auto Frame Skip now available for PC and 360 users.
PS3 Client available. Simply pop your PS2 client disk into your PS3 and follow the instructions once you have downloaded the latest patch. There is a $10 client download fee per PSU account. Once you have upgraded, you can not go back to the PS2 version for Online interactions.
Camera Mode now available (Hudless free roam camera. Will take the place of one player slot.)

Demo client:

A demo version comes to the PC! Players will be able to play the game for free up to level 25 by downloading the demo client. If satisfied they can purchase the full game directly.

Demo players will be unable to access any AOTI, event, and timed missions and will be limited to episode 2 chapter 3, up to B rank missions, and will be limited to Parum and Guardian's Colony. Characters can interact but will be stored separately from primary characters. Every 2 weeks there will be a character wipe. Players will be unable to open a shop.

Event - Our Sister System

Another space distortion has brought a system of planets similar to ours close to us. We have detected 3 planets all filled with mysteries. We must make contact with these worlds and help them in any way we can as they appeared very close to a SEED Hive. The only communication we have heard is coming from a small satelite and is being sent from someone named Wren.

*There’s now a newly made cast shell that allows cast players to wear normal clothes (You can't change the color of the clothes like you can with cast shell parts)

Character Creation Update: (AOTI ONLY)

Racial specials Updates: (AOTI ONLY)

*Humans and Newmans now have Racial special.

Humans – They can now use the Mags similar to PSO Mags. Every human have them in there inventory and can not remove it from inventory. (It can be unequipped though) The Mag Looks and attacks change depending on what class type you are.
You have to me one of the expert or master classes to use it.

Newmans – They can now summon one of the 4 different creatures to come to there aid. Each one have it’s own ability and things they do. Test them all out to see which one you like best.
You have to be level 20 and up to use this.

“Nanoblast Updated”
Now depending on which beast badge you pick your beast will take on a different form when it Nanoblast.

Gameplay Updates: (AOTI ONLY)

“Change Character” has now been added to the options menu.
Players can now change and switch though characters with out having to log out.

*Extra Character slots.
Players can now add more character slots than just original 4 for a fee. It’s 5 dollars per slot. You can have up to 10 character slot

*CM rank has been added.
CM is short for Challenge mode is a new rank than will be added to stages though many updates.
In this mode the stages will change slightly and force players to think and work together. 6 players will be required. Teamwork is the keyword. It is recommended that you have a good mix of types to balance your team out. Once started you can’t go back unless you end mission so stock up well and prepare yourself well.

*Counter Update
Melee weapons can no longer do counter for double damage, However Range and now Tech weapons can.

*Weapon Grind updated
Weapons can no longer be broken. Instead it will just go back to 0 and you can just try again. However It will now be “extremely” hard to grind now.

System patches:
Lagbot has been fixed*
Character voices has been*
Machine gun glitch has been fixed for good*

Sega Promise:
We know we have screw up in the past but we SOA promise to give you a must better customer service than we have before. We also promise a new update every 2 weeks or at least every month and less screw up from our side. If we fail them bring you your updates that month we will pay for your next month. Same goes for if we screw up anyway. We know these isn’t much but it’s the least we can do.

- A new central counter is now available to all Guardians in Clyez City 4th floor where any running party in the game can be accessed directly.

- Grants PA disk is now available for 99 PA Fragments in the Technic License Exchange mission. (Foie like Light Tech)

- Elemental % on armor has been adjusted so that DFP and MST are more important factors when being hit by enemies.

- 4 "Combined Missions" have been added. 1 for each planet. In these mission the party leader can choose from up to 6 consecutive mission (lobbies have to be connected) for the party to play. These missions can be accessed from the first mission counter on each planet/Clyez City. An additional 5th mission is available at the Clyez City central hub where up to 18 mission can be linked together for a "Universe Tour". These mission can all be joined mid-mission from the starting counter.

Update:

-- Cmode added to AOI, similar to PSO, there are 5 types of Cmode

Mono C mode, in which one is challenged with much higher level creatures than the base +30 level limit. all difficulties are open to all levels, so the higher the difficulty, the higher the gamble, the more drops and exp your char earns.

Duel Cmode, in which you and up to 5 other players can duke it out, in teams or all out. you duel at your own level.

Duel Cmode+, in which you duel similar to PSO, starting at level 1, and lvls are gained per kill / death. (handicap is customizable, so difficulty can change)

CMode team, basic Cmode, everyone starts at level 1, drop rate for all baddies = 500% exp = 500%. run through shorter, more hectic versions of the 3 planets with 3X the baddies.

Cmode chaosgen, random monsters, random drops, random levels with random switches and props. each run the casino's roullete generator picks the monsters, environment, and drops/droprate, chars start at level 1, but lvling is increased. any S rank items found continue on to base char's inventory. entry fee, set at exactly 25% your chars total meseta count. (anyone can play, and it would cost the same for everyone..) the efficiency at which monsters are killed boosts the drop rate and level of items dropped. the more skilled will get better stuff.

(All cmode versions would not contribute exp, items, or meseta to your chars base level, but awards such as stat materials (atp+1, att+1, def+1 ext. ext. ) and rare A and S rank weaps only obtainable through c mode. (weaps and mats are non sellable/tradable/droppable))

--Update the larger maps with small vehicles, but ad collision damage to monsters smaller than the vehicle, and collision damage to the vehicle and monster if the monster is larger than the vehicle. fix some of the vehicles steering mechanics.

--Update: add a PC/Mac based program which allows level mods, custom levels can be updated through challenge modes, custom levels must be approved by Sega of America to protect levels from being too glitchy, huge, or badly made.

System Updates-

PSU version 3-
Fixes-
1. Faster Loading time.
2. Removal of the "Loading Game Data" section.
3. Music Galery is available, but only for Offline heard musics.

Add-ons-
1. All Single Hand Weapons can now have a chosen hand of use. This means the right hand can use 1-hand Guns/Mags, whilist the other hand can use Sabers and the like. This means one character can use say, Crossbow and Card at once, or two One handed Claws.

2. All two handed Melee Weapons now can carry 2 PA's at once. Using the same method for Tech switching, holding the button replaces the first PA button with a second PA button. The Basic Attack is the same on both sides, and cannot be changed.

3. Guns now can use Special Melee Actions. These cost no PP, but are short ranged and only so moderate damage. Grenade Launchers, and Laser Cannons will have the highest damage ratio. All guns will do a knockdown effect with the Melee attack, Grenades will do a KnockBack effect. The attack's power will vary depending on the weapon used.

4. The status effects of Silence, Confuse, and Poison will have an increased hit percentage.

5. Techer's Radiga will now have the ability to inflict Stun.

6. Sleep status will now have a 50% chance of sleeping still after each hit.

7. Debuff version of Retier is now avaliable.

8. New Clothes and CAST parts are avaliable. Gender Crossdressing is now capable for SOME outfits / Parts. Race Crossdressing is avaliable for some outfits / Parts. All Gender crossed Female clothes will be more covered up on the male version. Skirt's are still Female Only.

9. Casino Voloyal will now have a Blackjack game.

10. Old PSU rooms will now have an updated Decoration set up.

Server Updates-

1. Casino Voloyal will now have a Coin Purchasing system.
2. Casino Voloyal will now have an option to manually stop the wheels, instead of automatically.
3. Casino Voloyal's loading time will be shortened.

4. Character switching option is now available. Access the option menu and select, switch character.

5. Rooms of the owner's account will now be accessable 100% by the other characters of the account.

6. Room loading time will be shortened.

7. Special Lobby loading time, such as Night time Neudaiz, will be shortened.

8. Players may now change class during a mission.

9. Players may now do multiple missions at once, but rewards will not be given to ones who do not participate in the missions. Normal mission limit's apply to the ones whom enter the field. This means, you can do MAG with 6 people in the party, but only have 4 people in the area at once. An option will be below the "Start Mission" select if the missions are at the same counter.

10. Clothes can couldn't be stacked before now can be stacked, though some limitations still apply.

11. One character cannot wear Clothes and Parts. They can only wear Parts or Clothes. Part's color's on non-Cast characters can be edited in the same method CAST use.

-Having JA at least reduces the BUTTON MASH OLOLOL factor for hunters, and removing it would basically just be dumbing this game down even more

-PP Regen doesn't really help unless you're using either a sword or a weapon that hits multiple enemies. Oh and the PSO weapons seem to have massive PP regen. Besides, you can just use a Photon Charge :P

-Enemies pre-AoI nerf? I'm sorry, but I LIKE not being hit by attacks that are nowhere near me. I was playing the 360 demo two days ago and that is annoying as hell.

Gunner classes have a PP usage decrease on guns, Fortegunners have a slightly more significant drop.
Fortegunners have a slight range increase on guns and an ATP boost dependant on distance, the further away the enemy, the more damage done.
Fortetechers have a slight TECHNIC speed boost.
Fortefighters can now use A-Rank Double Sabers.

I had more fun with the button mashing and random hits with some challenge than playing in the LOL easy mode that is hunter now XD and enemy wise, I was thinking more like the higher HP and damage output.

And on the note of the PP regen, its easy enough for me to keep most of my weapons full by throwing in some JA'd normal hits before going into a PA, I haven't actually had to use a charge in ages x.x

New Update to my last post...

I think to really re-balance board synthing, they should make the lvl of the PM really matter. the lvl matters now, but not that much, I'd say from level 70+ all synths have 100% of working.
from level 40+ at least a 70% chance, and from 30+ at least a 50% chance.

some boards, like the super valuable rares will only be obtainable by super high or capped characters, so their PM will by default be above 70.

and i think taking out the chance of failure all together would be alright, but it would be better if the chance of failure just dwindled away to nothing the longer you played.

also, reduce the number of ingredients by 66% all ingredients below a 7 star or 9 star seem worthless to higher level players anyways, so get rid of two thirds the materials.... why did they make this game with such an ungodly number of material types anyhow....

why don't we go all out, if there are no limits to what segac will introduce in the next updates.

Update on Sept 1st (not not make it right away? i would rather not wait.)

New planets:

Rappol (plannet of civilized rappys!)

Spec Jartee (hive structure built in an asteroid field, Sega could play with funky gravity and narrow/simple environments with this one..) filled with crevasses and long narrow tunnels


new trap types:

stationary energy fields, these would change elemental types of creatures as they come in contact with them, or nullify the elemental bonuses (which would bring back some use to the neutral weaps)

(items above are released in the map, like traps, and go off when anything gets within range.)


turret gun traps

tech PP field traps, techers can place on ground, and when baddies get within range, slowly sucks PP from them..

New items:

telepipe and ryuker. get rid of warp crystals.

5 completely new bosses.

1: humanoid leader of resistance (nice and vague, the player can pick the resistance in their head... 7 different skins, one for each race, and then a seed skin and a original PM Pete skin, Pete goes haywire and leads the resistance!)

2: water dragon snake thing, similar to the version of de-rol-le in PSO that was like a giant sting ray crab thing....

3: small robot army... that would be sweet, about 30 little robots (the size of pms) they could even make a new set of missions taking place in the PM factorys.

4: A rhino esque thing, about the size of a tank, that is weak against techs at first, then loses armor an is weak against melee, 1 point in head is weak against gunfire at all times.

5: a giant computer system. the boss battle ensues inside the system, and the boss keeps sending out electric wire tentacles to hit you, you have to run to various points in the small network of passages to hit the panel showing the master program.. similar to PSO's central computer in the mines, but more complex and larger play area.

NEW weapons

more varied swords, daggers, spears, especially at the A rank and higher level. not just more swords, but a wider variety of them, the higher ones get better SFX, the highest get better SFX and visual effects.

more guns, more shooting effects

more wands, rods, cards, books, and techer GLOVES (thanks for the idea ANDY1423)

These are some ideas ive been thinking about. Not really sure about ATP on ranged weapons or the JA/JC changes though.

Gameply/System Updates.
- Boss' Lv150 will now drop 12* boards (Ex: Alterazgoug [B]Yamata-misaki>[B]Shide-misaki)
- Monsters Lv150+ will now drop [B] rather then mde weapons (Excluding weapons that do not have their own unique syth [b] like Nasuyoteric)
- Crea+ weapons will now be [B] drops from Lv150 Monsters from V1 areas.
- Creawand+ will be reskinned to a completely new weapon instead of the 6* Wandrac.
- All dropped weapons have a chance of having an element between 5-50%. 5-25% being uncommon 26-35% being common and 36-50% being rare. Applies to weapons like Neiclaw which are not synthed but found.
- All monsters will recieve an increse in Atp, END, and EVP.
- Ranged Weapons damage will no be determined by ATA. Fixing the issue of Fortefighter's pistol damage being so high, making Casts the dominant ranger type race, and making Newman's the second best Ranger type race. ATP will not be adjusted for Ranger classes as they still have access to some melee type eapons. (Longbows unaffected)
- New mission variants will be made available. Monster LV's will be choosable depending on mission. Monsters have increased drop rares and EXP multipliers. In addition players will not be allowed to use Scape dolls or be revived during the mission. Monsters ATP will be 2.5 times higher along with HP being 1.5 times higher. Rare monsters will spawn more frequently, and replace normal monsters on the mission randomly.
- Protransers trap limit has been increases. Protransers can now carry twice as many traps(excluding Trap EX)
- Lv 31-40 bullets have been adjusted for the Longbow. Firing rate has been increased and SE Lv5 has been added.
- The PA "Chousei-sou" has been adjusted to have increased firing rate, and a higher Damage modifier.
- The PA "Masei-sou" has been adjusted to have an increased firing rate.
- Acrotecher Striking PA's have been raised to 30 (If they have twin daggers might as well make them useul)
-Kubara weapons have increased chance of landing a critical hit.
- Just Attack is no longer as potent instead it'll be reduced to 1.2 times multiplier. Critical hits with JA will be 1.7 times normal damage.
- Just Counter will now cause do 1.5 normal damage(applies to entire striking PA's if each part is timed correctly). Criticals will do 2 times normal damage.
- A new system allowing you you increase attribute rates on wepons will be released. In exchage there's a high probability the weapon will no longer be usable . Attribute will be increased randomly and will work much like V1 grinding. Can also be done with Armor.
- Newman's after Lv50 will gain an additional speed boost to attack speeds. Making them live up to the most agile race. At level 100, 150, and 200 they'll recieve another increase in speed.
-Debuffed bosses become more agressive, and use special attacks more often.

New Items
- An expansion featuring new content will be released. Items from the PSP version of Phantasy Star Universe have been added.
- New missions will be made available with c-s2 difficulty
-New unique bosses will be added.
- New Party missions will be available at the Guardians HQ. Missions will feature new challenges such as ltemporary level reductions, and limited weapon selcetion depending on class.
- New Cooperative weapons ill be added.
- New SUV's
- New Nanoblast's (New look and attack animations<Female beasts really need it)
- Weapon companies now make weapons up to 12* in each weapon they make. And 13*-15* will available from companies who originally made S Rank variants(Ex. GRM 13-15* Sabers.
- New Units increasing bullet range, attack/bullet speeds, and others will be added.
- A new system allowing you you increase attribute rates on wepons will be released. In exchage there's a high probability the weapon will no longer be usable . Attribute will be increased randomly and will work much like V1 grinding. Can also be done with Armor.
- New 10*-15* rares will be available including unique armor, units, and weapons.
- A new type of extra unit will be released that's only equippable by Humans. Acting like SUV's they'll give special effects to all party members for a breif period of time. Effects will include high level buffs, increased PP regain, HP recovery, STA boosts, and brief invulnerbility. These effects will be stronger then other unit/spell counterparts and will override players current status. These units will be S Rank only and not obtainable through shops.
- New Traps. Damage Trap EX(does more damage then other EX traps Limit:20), Virus Trap EX, Debuff Trap G (Affects Bosses), Incapicitate Trap EX(Has a time limit of 10 seconds with Lv1 incapicitate. Costs 5000 a trap. Does lower damage then other EX traps Limit 10.).

whats with people wanting better stuff, but with all the negative effects removed??? lets bring back a ton of baddies from PSO, but take away anything that made it more challenging to kill them? lets bring back weaps and such, but take away their negative sides, and boost their power?

heres an idea, lets drop all ranked missions' monsters to lvl 5 hp, and no def. lets boost all weaps power and ATT by 300%. lets make the game supremely, ultimately, nonoblastingly easy....

no, I say that if you bring back ice queen, bring back random freeze. that shit was hilarious to watch, hardcore players get pissed off when they froze, and missed the exp/items that they could have got but were frozen.

anyhow. I want more content, but not easier content.

Facing enemies with 5 HP wouldn't be that great.

Here's one, why not bring Dark Falz to his original PSO Form. Make him more challangeing than he was on PSO.

I miss getting hit by his swing attack from his 3rd form. :D

Also, bring back Gal Gryphon :-)

Hey guys. Just wanted to say I appreciate all the ideas that have been coming from everyone. Some have been a little far-fetched, but most have been really good. ^^ I'm sorry I haven't had time to read through everyone's posts, so forgive me if these ideas have been mentioned already.

And as a disclaimer, I personally don't think PvP would work very well in PSU, but it seems to be a popular idea within the community, so I've added my own missions for this. Yes, they're basically rip-offs of the PSO Battle Mode fields, but a little nostalgia never hurt anyone. Ideas for new and original PvP missions will always be welcome of course.

New Missions (AOTI ONLY)

PvP missions "Cyberspace Chaos" and "Temple Assault" have been added to the Guardian's HQ counter. These VR simulations have been designed to train Guardians for real life combat on the field, as well as promote competition amongst fellow Guardians to bring out the very best in all of them.

Customize player matches however you want! Unlike free missions or story missions, players who select a PvP mission will have several new options available to them, such as lvl cap adjustments, equipment allotment, amongst other things.

Gameplay Update

In accordance with the addition of PvP missions to PSU, player characters will have their stats and abilities rebalanced as they enter the PvP field. PAs will also be altered, and certain bullets will either have their effects altered or removed altogether. This also applies to TECHNICs as well.

In this update, as well as in future installments, several changes to weapons will be made depending on their manufacturer to enhance their uniqueness. In this particular update, PAs will receive a slight increase in experience gained if used by a Yohmei product.

* Mellvore Ruins (Parum) - Though Mellvore City was destroyed over 15 years ago, the ruins act as a nesting ground for numerous SEED-infected creatures.
* Nagaraki Trails (Neudaiz) - The flatlands of Neudaiz are home to the Nagaraki tree, known all across Gurhal for its incredibly sweet sap. Though thought to be in little danger of the SEED, the region is now being invaded by SEED-infected native creatures from the neighboring Habirao area.
* Vio Tonga (Moatoob) - The icy plains of Vio Tonga stretch far into the northern regions of Moatoob. Venture into this area to purify the tundra of its SEED infestation.

The 15 years that have passed since the Mellvore Explosion have allowed the surviving creatures to thrive in the A-Photon contaminated ruins, warping them into deranged forms of their original selves. Purify these creatures to aid in the cleanup of the region!

"Tourist Trap"
Start lobby: Habirao Village
The Nagaraki Trails were once a popular tourist spot on Neudaiz, however the recent overflow of SEED-infected creatures from Habirao is putting visitors in danger. Suppress the infected wildlife and rescue the tourists before it's too late!

"Frigid Behemoth"
Start lobby: Vio Tonga
Reports have come in concerning the reanimation of the frozen skeletal remains of a creature once thought to be extinct. All indications point to the Illuminus' SEED-Virus as the culprit. Traverse the snowy plains of Vio Tonga, track down the Stava Gandra and destroy it!

One thing I miss from the offline mode is the Fire and Ice contamination missions. I think it would be nice to have them as rare missions in a future expansion.
Something like this:
All free missions have 2 rare variants (except HIVE/Colony/Rykros/RELICS missions), one with only ice monsters and other only fire, and also they would have the SEED cores thingies like firebreak. Those missions would be more common than the pso rare missions (Forest of Illusion), and I guess they could have something like 50% exp and rare boost (1.5x). In the start of the mission we would get the photon eraser or the one for ice SEED contamination (don't remember the name), like on winter event, on the firebreak parts.
The mission would be kinda the same as the normal variant, but with the SEED cores to purify, the fire or ice background instead of the normal one, and the monsters would be a bit more powerful (something like 5% to 25% boost HP, or even all stats boosted).
The bosses, I think those could be changed a bit, reskinned to stronger versions. For example, on Plains Overlord, if we got the fire contamination, instead of De Ragan we would get something like SEED De Ragan (fire), and on the ice contamination SEED De Ragan (Ice). Each of them would have their own drops, or even just drop the same things as De Ragan, but the weapons or line shields instead of dropping as boards, would drop made with the element of the boss (fire or ice).

Nice Espio. Those would be some fantastic missions. I'm especially intrigued by "Frigid Behemoth." PSU could certainly use more new and original bosses, and some more ice-themed Moatoob missions would help breath some life into that planet.

Nah, a non-reskin is what I'm after. Though, to be honest, I'm not quite sure what Stava Gandra would look like, in my mind it's definitely a new style of boss. :lol:

Actually, maybe a skeletal snow worm thing. Well, not necessarily completely skeletal. I imagine with it being trapped in ice for x number of years, some of its flesh and muscle were preserved. (And before anyone calls "De Rol Le reskin," keep reading.) The battle could take place on an iced-over lake. Stava could swim around under the ice and burst out to attack. And if it ever saw fit, it could slither its way across the surface of the lake to chase players down. So technically, it might look like a De Rol Le reskin, but at least the style of battle would be new. No raft, no flying lasers.

Hmm...

NPC Updates...
-Types updated for NPC's. Instead of offline Hunter, Force, Ranger, use the online equivalents.
(Expect a lot of wartechers, or give the NPC's a generous supply of star and sol atomizers...)
-Updated type levels (The NPC's are supposed to be experienced at their job)
-Equipment matching class and experience level. For instance, Lumia with cards and a crossbow.
-Better Navigation Logic - no more getting stuck on tree roots and in doors.
-Better NPC Play - No more standing off in one corner, or nanoblasting with no enemies present, or facing the other way when summoning a SUV...


Gameplay Updates:
-Switch Character option on main menu.
-2 extra character slots.
-Robot Lag eliminated.
-Better visibility control on levels with very long, open spaces.
-Reduction of damage from Just Attack/Just Counter to half of what it currently is.
-The ability to choose hands for one handed weapons.
-Photon Charges charge weapons in both hands fully.
-TSCM/RCSM have their own slot. TCSM's cannot be equipped with rods (tech switching issues)
-A special make of PM that you get to equip the way you want to, and set it's parameters.
-Being able to use higher ranked materials to make lower ranked items, if needed.
-No More Machine Gun Glitches.
-Grinding no longer fails; However, better grinders give better results.

Technic updates:
-Grants
-Ground based buff (boosts stamina and resistance)/Debuff (does opposite)

Weapon Updates:
-A and S Rank Yohmei Long Swords.
-S rank Yohmei Twin Handguns
-Twin Mechguns (Fire 3 shots each per attack - low atp, low ata)

Armor Updates:
-S ranked, Class Specific Armor (Gunnerline, TranseLine, ForceLine, FightLine,TechLine,MasterLine, AcroLine, etc) which provides useful bonuses for those classes.
-Slightly higher drop rate for B and A rank Units. (Higher for B, less so for A)
-Units drop from other monsters instead of boss boxes (perhaps only buffed monsters)

Mission Update:
-The Gauntlet. How long can you last against 1,000 creatures? Level starts out a fraction of the player's, and gets progressively harder with each wave. Compare your score against other Gaurdians, and get a prize for surviving! (1 player, no scape dolls. Client - Bruce Boyd, Moatoob Branch))(Drops would be nerfed, but not xp. Rewards based on final score and starting level.) No Rank, open to all.

-A Small Problem. An Odd request from the various native species. It appears areas on Parum, Moatoob, and Neudaiz are being overrun by numerous smaller creatures. Find out what is going on. (Client - represented by Lou, Gaurdians HQ) (Ranks C-S2)

-The Photo Studio : Get you and your friend's picture taken posing in any locale you've visited, with rented props, scenery and clothes, and have the picture delivered to you. (Gaurdians HQ, Shopping Mall B)

I got an idea! How about we DON'T put a bunch of PSO shit in? :D

New race: Batman. Deticated to the Dark Knight, it has more stats than any other race in everything. And it has a special attack it gets at level 1 that it can use at any time, and kills every enemy in the mission. Even the boss (if there is one)

New Class: Batman Class. It has level 60 melee Photon Arts, and it's PP cost is lowered to 0 in all PA's. It's attack speed is also boosted to 1,000,000% that of normal.

In all seriousness though, I do have an idea. It wouldn't exactly be an update, or really something in an expansion, but maybe something for the next Phantasy Star game.

Create A Class: (I'll try to make it as balanced as possible) Here's how it works. When you make your character, you get the choice of the three basic classes. Hunter, Ranger and Force. You can change classes at any time. You can get a total of 10 levels. (out of all 3) Once you reach 10, you can make your class.

You pick 4 things. Name, Photon Art levels, Weapons, and a Special Ability.
I'll start with the name:..It's your classes' name. Not much to it.

As for the levels, you get a total of 50 levels that you can split into the 4 catagories. (Melee, Range, Attack Techs, and Support.) Or you can simply pile them into one stat.

Weapons: Depending on what you leveled as the basic classes, you get to pick your weapons from that catagorie. AKA: If you got 10 levels in Hunter, you can pick any of the Hunter weapons, to an extent. Heavy weapons such as Axes, Spears, Swords, and the like cost 3 points. 2 points for Single Handed weapons like Saber, slicer, dagger, ect.
Also, if you spent say, 5 levels in Hunter, and 5 levels in Force, you could spend 5 for Force, and 5 for hunter stuff. (Since there's not many Tech weapons, Rods take 4 points, and Madoogs and Wands take 2)

Now for the Special Ability: You can only pick one. They concist of:
Reduiced PP cost for one type of Photon Art (Support and Attack techs are bunched together for this) for those who want to make the most of their PP.
Raised Attack/casting Speed, much like the Master Classes.
Or perhaps you want your sword swing to have more range, or your grenade to fly a bit farther, or maybe you just want your Foie to hit something from across the room? Well, then you can pick to give your attacks more attack range. To be percise, you can increse attack range by 50%. (By the way, the boost for techs increses ALL techs. Not just Basic and Ra. >->)

Anyway, there ya go. Now bash my post to bits on how broken and stupid it would be. :wacko:

Armor Updates:
- Armors come now with no slots (old armors will keep their slots, getting the corresponding upgrade).
- Armors can be upgraded up to 4 times. Each upgrade adds a chosen slot to the armor.
- As many slots the armor already has, lower is the rate for the next upgrade.
- If an armor upgrade fails, it's maximun level decreases by 1. This also means, it can't get all slots.
- More armor/weapon sets.

Class Updates:
- Acro- classes deleted.
- Fighgunner class get access to S rank Slicers and Shadoogs. Also get a boost on attacking speed.
- Guntecher class get access to S rank Cards and A rank Whips. They get access to lvl 40 support TECHNICs, and a boost on casting speed.
- Wartecher class get access to S rank Whips, Madoogs and Single Claws. Also get access to level 40 offensive TECHNICs.

Earlier this year there were players making grinders in some non legit way and the xbox360 version was the most affected one, not the PC/PS2...
But looks like it was fixed fast (don't remember ^^;) and several players were banned (some were unbanned after though)...

The only difference between an AF and a fG is that the fG uses all AF weps except cards, and WT uses all AT weapons except twin handguns and machinegun (and I think I can count with the fingers of a hand how many ATs I've seen with those weps).

• Jabroga is increased to a 9001% attack modifier. Add 100% chance of incapacitate to the player upon use. All other axe PA's are removed from the game. S Axes unlocked for every class.

• Wartecher class and humans are removed, SEGA sends a formal apology to players for having adding them to the game. If your character was human, you character will be replaced with a black square.

• Only clothes equippable for cast/fleshie females is casino set.

• New air conditioners installed at billing offices.

• Platinum meseta introduced as new currency, exchange a stack of meseta for 1 platinum meseta with Dr. Montague.

• Bill Melon costume unlocked at casino for 99 gold.

I mean as the game is now, or will be going. Guntecher is getting level 30 striking techs, same as Acrotecher. You could play Guntecher as a mainly techer with support and some good guns, and some lolwhips like AT has now.

Acrofighter is basically a fG with less weapons. Sorry, but if you have a class with swords and guns, you can play it mainly as a "fighter", nobody tells you to use xbows or MGs. Anyways it was just an idea. I think that the game would be perfect and fine if those changes were implemented to hybrid classes, instead of giving two "patch" classes.

If you wanted variety for the game, I'd add Acro-classes as something different. for me, a techer with good support is FT. A support class is GT. a fighter with whip is WT. A fighter with good melee weapons is fG. Make a trapper with techs, for example, and call it Acrotecher, but don't make a wartecher with some minor changes.

And to your "where are my claws"... and Where are my S rank whips? why a loltecher uses them? D:

Now seriously, acrofighter is completely different from fighgunner or any other classes...it's the ONLY class that focus on 1-handed melee weapons.
So what fighgunner has most acrofighter weapons? Anyone uses mostly 1-handed weapons on fighgunner?
Acrofighter gives a focus to some of the most unused weapons, which is only a good thing.
By having a class that gives a focus to those weapons, with also a speed boost, gives more variety to the game.

Acrotecher gives more variety to the classes that focus on techs, which aren't many.
Including the upcoming Masterforce:
Acrotecher - focus on support techs, with good lvl attack techs and speed boost.
Fortetecher - strong attack and support techs
Masterforce - focus on attack techs and with speed boost, has almost non-existent support.

Guntecher shouldn't replace acrotecher, because guntecher is the ranger/force hybrid (focus on guns), while wartecher is the hunter/force hybrid (focus on melee).

The problem is bassically what you're describing. What is the problem into playing fG like an AF? because it uses weapons that wouln't be used if you had other options. Once again, if a weapon is bad, the solution is not making a class that ONLY uses that weapon, is to improve the weapon.

I think of each class as a lot of possibilities. It seems that the only way to play fG for you is to play, for example, with double sabers, twin sabers and xbow, and someone who plays with twin claws, single claws and single daggers is playing it wrong.

For me, Acrotecher is made of retails of other classes. Guntecher was made to be the support class with access to high level guns. Wartecher was made to be able to focus on striking techs and melee, in the same proportion. But now, one of both roles of each class went half or fully screwed, just because of a "commercial class"

Anyways, I won't convince you, and the topic was "create your own update". For me, as a mainly Wartecher user, and preference for hybrid classes, the game would be much better if, instead of Acro- classes, Wartecher would get level 40 techs (for me 30 support is a veeery bad joke from ST), Guntecher would get the max support ability, and the S rank and new weapons were given to other classes.

For me a fG that could use S rank Slicers, shadoogs and Single claws, and with speed boost, would be an AF. if you feel the obligation on use Double sabers, maybe the problem is not the class. And your point about deleting fG because of FF has no sense. FF is mainly played as a full melee'er, while both AT and fG are fighters with guns and other weapons. for me the "essence" of a fG and a FF is different, but not of a fG and an AF.

Anyways this is pointless, because the one screwed it's me, since the game is already as you like.

About classes, about their weapons, I think most of them are fine...The only ones that I think that could use some new weapons are guntecher and wartecher. Guntecher getting S rank Cards, Wartecher getting S rank Whips and Madoogs (but wands being changed to A rank instead). Also I think Wartecher should get lvl 40 skills, it's the only hybrid that doesn't have anything at lvl 40...

About the acro classes, you're right, this isn't the place to discuss them...I won't discuss it here anymore...

I got an idea! How about we DON'T put a bunch of PSO shit in? :D

New race: Batman. Deticated to the Dark Knight, it has more stats than any other race in everything. And it has a special attack it gets at level 1 that it can use at any time, and kills every enemy in the mission. Even the boss (if there is one)

New Class: Batman Class. It has level 60 melee Photon Arts, and it's PP cost is lowered to 0 in all PA's. It's attack speed is also boosted to 1,000,000% that of normal.


This has to be the most epic response ever!

I think there should be rebalanced the damage of techs. that's not a fantasy update I'd like, that's some that game NEEDS.

Also, if you want to fix wartecher, it should get lvl 40 techs. for me is logical, since melee has JA, and WT is a hybrid between both techs and melee. I don't see WT focusing only on melee, since the game points all the time as it as an offensive techer (more Force than Hunter lvl req, needed for MF, description, etc), and if we take al hybrids in a "premade" pattern, There's one hybrid with lvl 40 melee, other with lvl 40 guns, for me it makes sense WT with level 40 techs.

(I don't see why people don't like a class being fifty-fifty... is that bad?)

Also I don't think It should lose S rank wands. Wartecher doesn't have so many S ranks, compared to tohers, and for an offensive techer is logical to use the best tech weapons, or not? If we talk on those points I don't see AT using cards, since they're not techers...

Here's what I'd do:

- Unlock all unreleased content on both PSU and AotI

- Increase level cap to 200, and adjust enemy EXP to level more slowly

- Rebalance all PSU S2 missions and add in S3 difficulties (which are near impossible to solo - must be teamwork-oriented) to all missions

- Release new PA's, mainly for gunners and techers

- Eliminate items such as Star Atomizers, Truffles, etc. from boss boxes on S rank and higher

- Allow all equipment to drop made AND in board forms

- Adjust the synthing system

- Fix prevalent lagging issues

- Discontinue support for PS2, and re-release for PS3

- Overhaul graphics, allow for 1080p support for HDTV's and higher, widescreen resolutions for PC's

- Merge all servers

- Remake certain enemies and maps so that there are no reskins

- Eliminate Kubara "clone" weapons

- Eliminate the current grinding system and re-implement PSO's grinding system

- Periodically add new content approximately every 2 weeks. :3

PvP is a pointless update[not trying to shoot anyone down just this isnt the game for it, want a PvP match? Play games like COD4,GoW,battlefield,etc] Anyway heres my list
Give players the same luck[not stars]: We all know some players can find up to 10 PW boards a week while someone can search a month and not find one.

Just give us all the content and continue to do maintence fixing glitches and giving us events.
1 month trial plz.

Fix some PAs. there are many fun PAs but they are just to weak.Rebalance some like regrants,bukuu rensan ga [1* twin claw PA], and anga durgera.

Add small little side content like oblivion. Some little content pack or mission pack for 360 players buyable with MS points.Sega must update this with PC/PS2 players.

No more maybe,not sure,possibly. Just causes more BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWS. When we see something posted about us getting an update only to be shotdown with a "Due to a" excuse. I want my content nao!
