How do I transfer Demo chars?

I did search and I did read the stickies, but neither yielded any results. Would anyone be willing to explain how to import a demo char into the full version?

I follow that exactly, but rather than show the character list, it just goes back to the title screen.

Edit: well, I got as far as selecting the character, then I got some error that wouldn't let me transfer it. Now for reasons beyond me, the memory stick got corrupted.

The character was probably already corrupted. The prompt that would not let you import the character was probably telling you that the data was corrupted, so it could not import, and then took you back to the title screen.

Maybe try to copy your demo onto your computer, and format your memstick.

The memory stick just died is all, it wouldn't reformat, period, which is why the character wouldn't import. I bought a new stick and loaded my backups onto the new stick and everything is working as it should now.
