Able to log in for free?

Alright. I am in panic. o_0 lol

I was cleaning my hard drives since I didn't have much space left anymore,
and there it was. A folder with the 4 GB PSU files, but one was packed in an archive. So I deleted the unpacked files to get some free space and then checked if my PSU still worked without those files.

Click on offline mode. Cool, still working, yay.
Then I remembered even with my account inactive, I can still download patches if there are any, so I don't have to download them once I'm back which should be soon. (intended it to be soon)

So, I checked the online mode... and I am able to log on.
Now I don't know what's happening.
Like, what the hell? I hastily checked playsega if they maybe billed me or something, but it said my last subscription was cancelled back in February, which is true. Since then, I have only been able to play during this free period ST gave us.
Got 065 after it ended, just as expected.

But why am I able to log on now?
I'm irritated now.
Anyone has an inactive account and can log on?
Like... lol wtf the world is ending ;l

I just logged out again, 'cause I didn't even intend to play anytime soon... want answers first. lol

Though wouldn't that mean if I created a new account on playsega I would just be able to log on with it?
Just curious, since I know there're some 360'ers that thought about maybe coming on PC/PS2.
