this could be one of the greatest real martial arts videos ever.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0CIy9ZZEQE&feature=related

it kind of reminds me of the classic, Art of Fighting 2, but more brutal.
why can't fighting games be like this instead of the silly energy bar and air juggles nonsense? ^^;
we have flight simulators, why not fight simulators? :p

WELL ANYWAY back on topic, if you have some really good fights to show, share them here! (preferably experienced martial artists instead of punk kids :p )

There is some talk that the one dressed in white does not use Tae Kwon Do, but
Kyokushin Karate, due to prioritizing punches over kicking technique.

It is said that the style the red dressed fighter uses is called Kung Fu Toa, an Iranian type of
Kung Fu.

Fights are never like that.

Mostly because people always adapt the boxing pose into their fighting.

a Kiai Master wagered $5000 that he could beat a MMA fighter.

Holy crap, that Kiai master can project invisible Falcon punches. We are all doomed. :disapprove:

Better cross-post that into the People are Ignorant thread.

You can map airplane controls to a controller (after all, it's controlled with a controller, so to speak.) However, no one can map the entire human body to a controller.

Saner

lol is that a joke? the human body can be mapped to a controller. 4 limbs, head, and enough
extra buttons for grapples. :p

okay okay okay, here's the real deal. :p

changed the first one to a better one:

There is one, it's called Boxing on Wii sports, it's just not a very accurate one.

you're an idiot if you think it's that simple

you're an idiot if you thought that was my complete idea of how it could work. :p
but I do admit it would be very hard to provide a well designed realistic grappling system,
I prefer no holds barred anyway. but my striking system concepts are not even the surface
of the whole picture. :p But it can be done and it can work very well, it's just that devs
rather copy what already sells.

It's a shame no company chose to provide a fighting game like Karate Champ these days

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oqq1ijzQhI

(but of course with more moves, better controls, and better everything,
but of course no health bars, ridiculous combos, cheap throws, unneeded super moves, and other things. just treat it as a natural tournament competition kumite with the points system
for scoring. like

1 point: hitting the adversary's abdomen or head with your fists.

2 points: kicking the adversary's abdomen.

3 points: kicking the adversary's head.

International competition under the World Karate Federation also includes the following point scoring:

2 points: punching or kicking the adversary's back.

3 points: for a sweep/takedown with a follow up technique such as a stomp or a)

Even though such a game would be treated more like a sport, I'd rather play something like
that instead of another boxing/wrestling/street fighter clone. let the era of Karate Champ next-gen clones begin showing up! ^^

the Judo minigames in Beijiing 2008 was ridiculous. And while we're on that subject, why
isn't there a decent Gymnastics career simuator game?

If you want a fight simulator, go watch WWE/RAW.

Saner

um TV shows are not interactive. or interactive enough. :p

if you're so obsessed with fighting and martial arts, how about actually taking up the damn sport.

Nitro Vordex
Aug 31, 2008, 02:03 AM
Because you can't do that from a computer chair.

TalHex

uh it's no fun getting hit for real. :p

why do you think people play violent videogames in the first place? they want the fun aspects
of it without the real consequences. :p

Boogie Troll

Speak for yourself. Under the right situation, getting hit can be fun. And the only driving factor behind my playing "violent" video games is most definitely because I'm a sadist.

Well, here's some more real, live-action fighting. Sure, it's in a movie and it's fake. However, you did post a wrestling video. Since wrestling is all acting, I figure it's okay to post this.

So Saner, maybe you start making your topics IN FKL.
It would save the mods a job and half.

Yeah. It is FKL. I'm just saying that so many threads are made that the other ones you started have already sunk into the depths.
