View Full Version : Rare missions don't show in empty counters

I just thought I would offer this quick bit of advice to anyone looking out for the Illusion missions. I've never heard this before, so whatever.

When you complete a mission, make sure you check for FOI/PF at a counter that has already existing missions. We completed a GBR cycle at White Beast, and when I checked PF at the Shitenkaku counter, it wasn't there. But when we went to Shikon and went to the Hill of Spores counter, Phantom Fissure showed up.

I was wondering this for quite a while so I was happy to have finally figured it out.

Hmm ok but I don't think this is a huge issue anyway>.>

Yay, I wondered about this too but considering how I've never done PF and only done FOI twice in the whole time it's been out I'm not too worried about it. :p

I was wondering about this back with the Moatoob GBR too. It would've been awesome to finish Serpent' and then go right into Forest of Illusion from the Casino..

..so yeah that was never possible.

You really expected it to show up at a counter with no missions?

Well all the descriptions ever said was something like "has a chance at appearing at any counter on Moatoob/Neudaiz."

This rare mission can appear randomly at any mission counter after completing other missions on Neudaiz.Yes, I did.

wow, it's funny how he just offered to give you guys a small bit of advice and some peeps are dousing their torches in kerosene, lol.

he could have just as easily said nothing...or posted pictures of his sanges and 97 vijeri / resists. I'm sure that would've helped the community more.

Yeah, I noticed this last time I had PF. It wasn't at Shitenkaku, so I assumed we didn't have the rare mission. Went to start the next GBR lap, and PF was at Shikon Islands.

Also, I imagine this is common knowledge, but if you have Phantom Fissure, you also have Forest of Illusion. I had PF, and before starting it, went to Dagora Flyer Base. FOI was at the counter- so if for some reason you don't want to run PF (maybe you want a Red / Force or something), you can freely go and do FOI as well. I imagine it'll be the same when Mines is released too, heh.

Edit: To clarify, you can't run both rare missions- once you run one, the other disappears. (unless you get lucky and get the rare mission again).

Yes, I did.

It's not a mission counter if it doesn't have any missions at it though :P

Sure, but we've had non-mission counters unexpectedly have missions added so..

any counter has the potential to become a mission counter.

can you get the rare mission if you are not the leader?

Wow. That's good to know. Aside from red / knight and luminarus, I'd say "PF" rares are underwhelming, and if I was to ever get red / knight, I'd probably rather start going somewhere else. I never liked caves anyway.

You know those mission counters are not just there for shits and giggles, right? All mission counters will have at least one mission one day. Just that, as it stands now, we're FAR away from that point in time.

I already knew that, but thanks for sharing! ^^ I'm sure there are a few people who didn't know about it.
