View Full Version : How do rare missions appear?

Do you have to travel through different lobbies all the time, or can you stick to one lobby/quest and somehow it would just randomly appear after completing a quest and starting another?..
..seem to be more lucky getting phantom fissure while travelling through shikion--->habiro--> sakura---> ohtoku city----> pavililon etc then sticking to wb.. though only wb has the stuff that i want to hunt ..except for red/knight.

Any mission is fine as long as it's on the same planet.

Just finish a mission then abandon, and you'll have a chance at a rare mission.

It can appear at any mission counter that normally has a mission available there, example it won't appear at the Shitenkaku lobby counter, but will be at the Pavilion of Air: Top counter for White Beast.

i thought abandoning mission will affect the possibility of encountering rare mission.
hmm i was with a team who were just doing sacred stream--->> white beast (repeat) and they managed to get phantom fissure, without abandoning missions (and they advised me not to)
come to think of it..might just do that... hill of spores = 4blocks very offputing

Abandoning is fine, as long as you saw 'Trial Cleared'. I abandon all the time, and still get Phantom Fissure / Forest of Illusion. Also, getting the 'rare mission' to trigger will activate them all. I had Phantom Fissure AND Forest of Illusion on their respective planets after completing a White Beast run.
But yeah, just run missions, use the crystal at end or abandon once complete, and you have a chance at it.

oh realy now.
i guess ill just be doing forest of illusion from now on then. phantom fissure has absolutly a load of crap in it other than the red knight.
well some things are decent but they sell so cheap anyway due to people doing it all the time

guess im just unlucky..
well abandoning my repca set hunt for red/knight is ok so long as i can get a nice set of serafi-senbas in the meantime...if only rare missions are available all the time and not just in events (think phantom fissure stops appearing at end of sept)

You can abandon mission after completion and still get the rare map.
I've been running nothing but WB lately, abandoning every time, and have gotten PF numerous times in parties.

Heres a question. If I'm party leader and PF shows up, if I leave the party will I still have the option to select PF? Even though I've left the party?

Where did you hear this?
Rare missions are here to stay. Forest of Illusion has not been taken out since its release, and I highly doubt Phantom Fissure will disappear after Neudaiz GBR. Rare missions and GBR are only connected by their release dates. They just happened be released at the same time. We've had this confusion with FOI and Moatoob GBR as well.

Yes. You can leave party, go to your room and log off and still have it. The only way you can lose it is if you do another mission besides Phantom Fissure.
Here is a picture for proof. I did White Beast S2
with Nene and abandon it after we finish the
boss and got trial cleared. I came back to the
counter and "BOOM." lol.

So just to clarify... I can be playing any mission I'd like on Neudaiz or Moatoob and get that planet's rare map? I don't have to be playing one that was on the GBR tour?

i'm positive that you can get Phantom Fissure on any Neudaiz missions.
Desert Goliat on Moatoob wasn't on the GBR route either and it still
can get Forest of Illusion, so i don't see why you can't get Phantom
Fissure on any Neudaiz missions.
Of course i can be wrong, but as of now, i'm 95% sure you can get
it on any Neudaiz missions.

The only way you can get PF is if you ARE the party leader. Regardless of if you are running solo or not, you have to be the lead. I think that is BS, it gives over to people booting more often in my opinion. And as for the comment way above that Phantom Fissure will end at the end of Sept., you sir are an idiot. Forest of Illusion is still here isnt it? Stop spreading stupid rumors. The "Illusion" series of missions will not be going anywhere, anytime. (Originally, Phantom Fissure should've been "Caves of Illusion".) Ask someone from the Japanese servers. Where's Kitty when you need 'im...

for the record ive never played much less hunted forest of illusions since i had little interest in it. Its only when certain items became available that ive expressed interest in searching for rare missions (PF), and genuinely did not know about FOI and PF not ending after the gbr boost.. though it was mentioned to me, i did want to make sure of it.
so knock off the stupid unhelpful attitude you twat

1: Must be party leader
2: Must be any ''PLANET'' mission of that type rare mission
Such as Neudaiz
- -
Moatoob: Forest of illusion
Neudaiz: Phantom fissue
Parum: Mines of illusion
Guardians: Ruins? I ono
3: The longer that you are in a mission, the chance of it appearing increasing.
4: Can get it twice in a row
( Confirmed )
If it's longer then 30 mins then that chance will not go up
( Confirmed by GM Melachoir and Ruby )
Missions are here to stay regardless
Such as Forest of illusion
So will Phantom fissue and the rest of the ''rare''
( Mines and Ruins )
I still don't get why people question that stuff >.>

I would to know if anyone spamming white beast has found Phantom Fissures by completing a mission and the abandoning it? It buggs me thinking I am ruing my chance of geting the rare mission. Any info would be appreciated.
yes, you can get Phantom Fissure by abandoning
the mission (only if the mission is cleared first).
I got Phantom Fissure while doing that when
I was playing with my little sister spamming WB.
I abandoned a mission of White Beast A earlier and got that mission. There is nothing to worry about.

Man, seems like my normal team needs to slow down a bit we're still getting 12-15 minutes for most of the new S2's, i'll get roughly 22-25 solo depending on what i'm doing or if i'm paying attention.
I've only got PF a few times, but there's not much i want there other then the red / knight

Sorry if this has been asked before. If I get Phantom Fissure and leave the planet so I can change my class will it disappear? I was wondering because I got my fortegunner maxed out and wanted to level my guntecher for the master classes. I wimped out and didn't try it. Anyone try to to leave the planet and still have PF. Also on the same note what about going to your room to unload on stuff?
SabZero

You may go and change your class, log off, go to your room. It is tied to that character and it disappears if you start any other mission.

May I ask a question? I know it's possible to log off and back on again and the mission is still there, but is it possible to change characters and let them do the mission? :O

the only thing that will cause a rare map to dissappear is STARTING ANY MISSION.
Not sure if deleting the character would also remove the rare map, but I'm assuming it would. I'm not wasting hundreds of hours to find out. = P

i went to switch characters to see if maybe the rare map would be locked to your account rather than just character. the character that has phatom fissure is 71 so no s rank no red night so i switched to my high chracter and he didn't have the rare map. so i switched back to the 71 and he was in a different universe now and still had the rare map. just took a chance and just further tells us that you can switch character and the original one will still have the rare map. and universes

I know some of you think that only the Party Leader can get Phantom Fissure, but on the first day of GBR, i joined a random party at hill of spores, completed the mission, and then left the party after we finished the mission. When i went to the counter for Dancing Birds, I had Phantom Fissure, and I wasn't the party leader in the previous mission.
I'm pretty sure that when you are in a party, Phantom Fissure can trigger with any of the people in the party. The leader of the Party can see the mission at the next counter so that the party doesn't have to disband and possibly lose a party member or two, because some people can be selfish and don't want a full party because that means less drops for yourself.

Ok, uh, so for the past few days, I've not had a Special Mission, FOI or PF, be gifted to any party I was in after the day I recieved three PF's in the same party at once, which, admitably, was about a week or two ago.
Now.. My question is, Is it posible to receive the mission chance IF AFTER COMPLETING the mission, and getting the reward, and Cancling the mission to go to the previous lobby?
I've kinda had high hopes up till now for PF's. So far, I've only gotten two invites to them after the three I've had.
Pwease help! D:!

Yes, you can get PF after getting MP/meseta rewards and abandoning the mission.
It really depends on the luck of the party leader. Some days you get nothing, other times you get PF multiple times in a row, like what happened to the party I was in yesterday.
YTownNateDogg
09-15-2008, 05:56 AM
...It really depends on the luck of the party leader...
I believe that this is false, luck only affects grinding and enemy drop rates.
The variables that control the likeliness of receiving a rare free mission is the number of party members (excluding NPCs) and the amount of time spent during the mission when the trial is cleared.

i dont think Celi-Ka was meaning in game daily luck, rather the actual luck of the player.
i recently got PF three times in 7 missions so i was a lucky SOAB that day, but we did have a full party that was doing boost building runs.

i mostly do solo runs and have gotten the rare missions more than i thought it was possible to get, both PF and FOI. it is better to go as a team but, still you can get it solo. like this past friday, just after i turned on my 360 and started to play my first mission on neudaiz for the day, i went to the counter where MIZURAKI DEFENSE starts and to my amazement, PF was there. and i've gotten FOI the same way. without doing any missions on the respective planets first. but it is very, very, very rare this happens, but it is possible.

Okay I kinda read up on these, they give you high MP and 500% EXP, and that they're only available in Neudaiz and Maotoob at the moment.. all I really know.. I been playing for 2 weeks about 20hrs a day (yay no job T_T) and have yet to see one..I spend a lot of time on Maotoob for PA's and Note Seed's, so I would assume I would get one at some point, no?
Maybe I'm completely oblivious to how it works... like how do you know you got the special rare mission? You just go up to the next counter area and it'll be selectable? or does it magically change the mission you start? I don't really get it all too much.. please help lol thanks

Apparently they randomly pop at the counter. I got one (Caves - 500% EXP and 500% drop ratio) while soloing on Neudaiz, which helped me jump from L27 to L44 in a weekend. In all my attempts to get it again, I haven't been able to.
The drops were mainly B'duki Magana and Kouhakanoh disks. Got a ton of those. The EXP was amazing though.

The way it works is: You have a "chance" of finding the mission at any counter on the 2 planets. It will be in orange, similarly to how the AOI missions are a different color. You can increase your "chance" of finding the missions 2 ways, and yes they do go better together. 1) stay in a mission for at least half an hour. 2) They more people in your party the better your chances. I find sometimes 4 to be good, plus your bots. The reason for 4 is the actual mission itself need 4 people to get all the secret areas and get an "S" rank and all the goodies.

They are so random that a few days ago I logged in after a week without playing, went to Neudaiz and made a mission and I got Phantom Fisure, then I went to Moatoob made another mission and got Forest Of Illusion. I was so amazed that I couldnīt belive it.
