* The game will take place on the Earth and its moon.
What, WHAT? are you talking about Planet Earth and Luna from the Sol System?? is this a joke or Sonic Team is trying to give an origin to the full franchise??

SEGA has made some great games. Like the classic Phantasy Star series and Sonic Adventure 2/SA2: Battle. And I gotta say, I don't think PSO and PSU are bad games. They, and occasionally Guild Wars, are the only MMORPGs that I can play for a long time in at once. I stop playing most other MMOs after a short while, because they're simply too generic. The only thing that really annoys me about PSU is the service for the NA/EU servers. I don't think the story is all that bad, and in my opinion the combat system is better, or at least not as generic as that of most MMORPGs. I have high hopes for PS0, it has potential.
I was doing that as a joke in response to the post before mine.
Although it is true that most RECENT Sega games have been crap.
Sonic the Hedgehog (360 & PS3) and PSU (arguably) being the prime examples.

Well, yeah, most of the recent games were crap. I wouldn't say PSU is crap, but the service for our servers is crap. Yeah, it's not the best game, and has many flaws, but with good service and regular updates it can be a fun game. I just hope SEGA tries to redeem themselves. PS0 seems promising, although we can't be sure if SEGA once again screws up.

You buncha feckin whiners.
I come back to get my PS zero info fix, which I do, and when I get to the discussion what are over 70% of the comments?
"I DONT LIKE THE ART STYLE"
"THEY BETTER NOT GIVE CLASS SPECIALS"
"I WANT A REAL PHANTASY STAR SEQUEL"
Y'know, Ill be the first to say it. Sega doesnt have the best rack record ever, theyve been screwing up franchises for the better half of a decade now. But you know what? That doesnt keep me from realizing a goddam genius idea.
Who here didnt like PSO? (Oh sure, I know your here you elitist punks, but why doncha take your nose out of the air just low enough to get your ears in hearing distance of this) Now who wouldnt want PSO on a portable? With WiFi?
I would even take PSU on a portable! Its not a great game, but the ability to play it on the go makes that trivial, its Diablo-esque, and more importantly, its FUN. Maybe not 400+ hours later, but at the moment its fun.
Now before the lot of you go bitching about a game that doesnt even have a fecking release date yet, why dont you just sit back, remember that your all acting like arrogant little elitists that think "they know whats best for the franchise" and ENJOY YOURSELVES.
No seriously, ill wait, sit back, get that 'christmas morning anticipation' look on your faces that youve been hiding under all that cycnicism and general douche-baggery, and gleefully await every announcement on the game as if it were mana from heaven.
I mean, hell, you might even find that those one or two little flaws that do get announced ARENT THAT BIG A DEAL.

Speculation is an entirely different matter. Speculation is fun, speculation is where you talk about all the what if's you want to see answered. Speculation is great.
Complaining because you feel slighted even though you have nothing to go off of except a scanned magazine and a japanese website with a dozen screenshots is just pathetic.
I'm not lashing out at anyone in particular, just in general here. The way I see it is simple:
How can you still consider yourself a fan of a franchise, when all you do is talk about the disappointments and negatives? Why not just stop being a fan, and realize your just being a masochist?

A real fan of something is able to point out the good and bad in something.
Whoever just points out the good is a fanboy.
It's very easy to complain about the bad, but it's a little harder to point out the good. (Especially when sometimes there isn't much)

Yes, back on topic.
From what I've seen, this looks promising, despite the general disapprove for Sega and Sonic Team around here. (See:Not updating when they have a right to not do so) The graphics look pretty good for a DS game, and the gameplay seems slightly more oriented toward PSO, though, it seems the art style is more PSU like. We'll see how this goes, I'm still excited.

Phantasy Star Online reborn on the Nintendo DS with new classes, a new storyline, and familiar four-player online gameplay.
This is not the Phantasy Star we've grown accustomed to since 2006 when Phantasy Star Universe released. Phantasy Star Zero is more akin to PSO from the Dreamcast than it has anything to do with Universe and the Gurhal system. To many a Phantasy Star fan, including myself, the prospects of PSO gameplay with all new areas to explore and brand new everything else is too good to be true in these post-PSU days. While newcomers to Phantasy Star who have only played PSU might be worried, fret not, PSO is where it's at!
The game premise is simple enough. Sonic Team is reintroducing the famously addicting PSO-style combat and exploration into a pint-sized cartridge. Y will be the Heavy Attack, A your Normal Attack. You can mix these up any way you want into a three-hit combo, with some weapons having a special attack on another button (which may or may not make it into PSZero). That's all there is to it. No Photon Art levels, no Photon Arts at all, and no Just Attacking (though I could be wrong!). Start off with a Normal Attack, which has more accuracy, but does less damage, do it again, and then try your hand at a Heavy Attack on the third string of the three-hit combo. As you progress in levels, try doing Normal, Heavy, Heavy. If you're particularly confident, try Heavy, Heavy, Heavy! More damage, but more likely to miss. This may seem incredibly basic, and it is, but don't let the absense of specialized combos fool you, as this attack system is very refined. Hold the R bumper on the DS and you'll switch over to your second pallet where you allocated spells, healing items, and more. And for those who missed them, our beloved MAGs will be making a triumphant return.
But why Nintendo DS? At least the PlayStation Portable got a full-sized Phantasy Star adventure complete with the same graphics and kind of content that PSU had! The DS works here, because the portable gaming device has built-in WiFi with easy chatting capabilites thanks to Sega's innovative integration of Pictochat. Instead of fuddling around with an onscreen keyboard, all the player has to do is draw on the bottom screen pictures or words and hit the Enter button for a chat bubble to pop up on the screen, shown below.
....http://www.segaroleplaying.com/gms/img/psz_10.gif....
We have many returning classes and a couple of surprises. Personally, I'm digging RAmar's new Vyse-like outfit (Vyse was the main male character from Skies of Arcadia), but my new favorite has got to be HUnewm. Look how sleek and impressive his outfit is! Hopefully Sega's integrating a half-decent character customizer at least on par with PSO, though it is confirmed that there will be a character creation system. For those of you unaware how PSO's classes go, it's broken down into Type: HU = Hunter, RA = Ranger, FO = Force; Race and Gender (male/female): Human (mar, marl), Newman (newm, newearl), Android (cast, caseal).
Phantasy Star Zero is no slouch when it comes to talent. It seems as though this is a full-on game and not just a 'something for the on-the-go' project. Sonic Team is cooking up what looks to be a juicy story with likable characters (taking place on Earth no less). Lunar series character designer Toshiyuki Kubouka is at the helm of character art, Toshiyuki Ohka is supervising character development, with both mystery novel writer Teru Arai and former PSO quest designer Touru Shiwasu collaborating on PSZero's scenarios.
....http://www.segaroleplaying.com/gms/img/psz_castx.png....
Returning Classes:
- HUmar - HUnewearl - HUcast - HUcaseal
- RAmar - RAmarl - RAcast - RAcaseal
- FOmar - FOmarl - FOnewm - FOnewearl
Introductory Classes:
- HUmarl - HUnewm
Finally, let's take a look at the game's signature areas. Sadly, we won't be seeing any areas from PSO, but stay on the lookout for rappies!
....http://www.segaroleplaying.com/gms/img/psz_areax.png....
I'm looking forward to Phantasy Star Zero right now more than any game and will be importing it as soon as it's available, so stay tuned for more preview updates as content rolls out as well as future impressions and a review of the Japanese copy. Can't wait to get my hands on the online mode!

Agreed.
I seriously hope they get rid of the bloody, "LOL U NED ROD TO CASTT!!!111!!!"
Totally forgot to add the screens look nice, I might just end up importing this baby.
I hate that about PSU. Fuck rods and wands. I hate the fact PSU charcters need to equip ( only 2 ) spells to a rod, staff or wand in order to cast spells, it's the main reason why I will never play as a Force in PSU.
I miss how it was back in the days of PSO where you could teach a variety of spells to your character, hot link certain spells to the action pallette and cast whatever you want whenever you want regardless of wether your character was wielding a sword ( Humar or Hunewearl ), a rifle ( Ramar or Ramarl ) or a sabre ( anybody except casts, no love for castsin PSO. I did not like that about PSO but it made sense at the time not to allow them to cast spells ).
This game is getting better by the day.

On a positive note I'm glade the Hunewm doesn't have SlutAttire(tm).
Also hoping this 'earth/moon' system is goingto actually be carol which only got named carol AFTER the meteor strike (though this negates the fact numen, according to the backstory, were created expressly for the pioneer project).
Wonder if the hucast will look radically different (given racasts apparently went on a crash diet and look like something out of Gundam).
On the whole I'm stuck between morning before Christmas anticipation, and 'wait NEXT winter...aww maaaaaan!'
I doubt this story will have anything to do with the PSO story.

Why dose everyone automaticly assume a lower target age when they see cartoony graphics? there is nothing wrong with cartoony graphics. they're great. they do what graphics are supposed to do. besides, realistic graphics just tempt developers to implement unrealistic amounts of gore and cleavage, and what's so mature about that?
I like the cowboy RAmar because PSO's RAmar costume was so bad. why the heck would the RAmar of all classes wear an outfit specificy designed to inhibit peripheral vision?

Guess it won't be like the concept art.
Why dose everyone automaticly assume a lower target age when they see cartoony graphics?
Because when making a stylistic choice regarding a game, you take into account its target audience.
"Cartoony" things are more kid-friendly than "realistic" things are, especially when it comes to sales.
Likewise, you don't see many gritty, realistic games meant for kids, and not a whole lot of "cartoony" things made for adult audiences (things like No More Heroes being an obvious exception).

Well, there are lots of seinen anime (anime for teenagers, mostly 15 and above) that use even more cartoonish/chibi-like art styles. And they aren't meant for children.

ALL newman/numan and CAST/androids in the classic series where originally from Earth
Well, numans were kinda created by the earthmen through mother brain. But they didn't actually originate from earth, IIRC... I'm not too sure about androids, but weren't they also created by people from Algol?
Other than that, now that I think about it, it's funny how I saw the thing about PS0 playing on earth before EspioKaos translated it, because of Google translate, but I just thought it was a mistake, lol.

Incorrect as Nei/Neifirst was only a year old by the time of the game's events and was created on motavia which causes the whole idea that they were created on earth to be a bit bunk. There IS however the idea that this could be a continuation of one of PS3's endings where you find a planet that looks suspiciously like earth (with a single large moon even) since there were numen on the ailes III (if I remember right).
Yes, yes i have played that long, plus I'd gone over all this speculation way back when PSO was still being kicked about and people were trying to form connections between it and the other PS games).
Sadly I can't confirm nor deny, except if that's the case that'd be pretty awesome.

There will be fan service, but I doubt there will be a connection.
I interpret the '0' that way that is is meant to tell us that they technic-wise start the series from the beginning, from zero.

Almost all advanced technology in Phantasy Star II is from Earth origin, the Biosystem was made by earthmen, Mother Brain was made by earthmen, so the technology that made Nei and all the computers and androids that control and assist the different biosystems are from Earth origin, Forren had almost a thousand years in PSIV so he was made by earthmen, Fal was made from Nei information and SEED was provably made by earthmen, in the end, Earth is the origin of the technology

Hope I can move on to another topic for a second here.
As most of you can guess, this isn't going to have an open lobby where anyone can meet anyone randomly (obviously this is against Nintendo's idea of safety and probably not possible for the DS hardware). So we can be pretty sure that everyone's going to have to add each other friend codes to play together once the game is released.
Hopefully we can eventually get a dedicated PS0 board, and once we do, I'm hoping to be able to exchange friend codes with anyone who wants to since It will be much more fun being able to play with more people when I have free time.

If you had played Phantasy Star II you wouldn't say that...
ALL newman/numan and CAST/androids in the classic series where originally from Earth
Algol had the capability to make CASTS and AI long before Phantasy Star II. Are you forgetting Hapsby and the Robotcops? Numans are also debatable since it's mentioned that Algolian scientists were working on the Numan project. There's a bit of a disconnect in the series over the purpose of the Numans. On the one side, they were supposed to be simply an experimental improvement over humans, while NM-2011 and GENE suggest that they were designed as biosoldiers. It's likely the Algolian scientists working on the project were duped, and the project had been co-opted by Mother Brain all along. Either way, the process wasn't automated by Mother Brain, so Algolians most definitely did have the technology.

I said it. Nothing prevents PS0 is a sequel of PS3 and a prequel of PS1.
There could be a story between PS3 and PS1, to tell. No one knows what could tell.
That "Earth" and "moon" in the official site... and that "zero" in the title are the only clues that we have.

New character art there. This is taken from SEGA's TGS site (http://tgs.sega.jp/2008/lineup/). I see what may be a HUnewearl, FOmar, FOnewm, HUcast and RAmarl.
And then there's red haired, red eyed chicky slightly faded into the background.
Since this is hitting in a few months in Japan, maybe we will hear about its US release at TGS. I am planning to get a DS soon if they do. I'd love to play all those new Castlevanias (3 on Advance and 3 on DS).

Until Espiokaos comes back around, this will have to do:
"At 試遊台, in series [ say / a three step attack or an action palette ], although the familiar element was inherited, it has checked that new actions, such as "a reservoir attack" exercised by continuing pushing a button and "evasive action" avoided just before in an enemy's attack, were also added."
EspioKaos

Good god that is amazing, a combo system is nice, but pretty much if they keep the 3 hit combos the way they were in PSO, and have this evasion system, i am even more sold now than I already was.

Might be worth pointing out that with exchange rates, the price may be well below $50 by the time it goes to America.

That picture makes it even more interesting. But, not that I care too much, I don't see any RAcaseal. :o Other than that, that Red haired/eyed girl at the top. Something seems fishy, doesn't her ear kinda look like a half cut off newman ear?

Somewhere in this thread it is pointed out that the sega ps0 site says that there are going to be 14 characters.
Now I wonder which classes wont be available.
PSO had 12, and 2 non PSO classes were anounced already (HUnewm+HUmarl) so I guess that some Hunters will be dropped or the other classes stay the same mostly... but a lot of classes did get a redesign, so it might not matter anyway.

But since this is not on paper or on the games, sonic team can decide if this is true or false, plus, were did humans came from in Algol? the Holly Light placed them there? lol bible rules
Er, the Robotcops and Hapsby were in PSI. Also, even though it's just a side game and doesn't mean much, Lars from PS:Gaiden was an android who could transform like Wren. The colony was established before the Earthmen arrived, so between the two examples, it shows that Algolians could make androids without Earth technology.
Nei's background is rather well detailed in both Nei's Adventure and in the supplementary official documentation. There were Algolian scientists working on the Numan project. This really isn't in question.
As for why there are humans in both Algol and Earth, there's no real explanation. We only have a date for when the Earthmen arrived. Since Algolian Earthlings WERE placed in Algol by the Great Light - and millions upon million of years have passed since that time - it's possible that Earth may have once been a lost colony of a lost and very very much pre-PSI advanced society. Perhaps that could be where PS0 fits in, since it apparently does take place on Earth on it's Moon.
Of course, that's just speculation.
Also, Nei didn't have purple ears. It was a graphic oversight. Nothing more. Nowhere in any artwork is it seen, it's not mentioned in any documentation, and it's been corrected in the Phantasy Star: Generation II remake.

Q: What is the theme of this title?
A: It's a completely new title with a base in PSO. We hope to offer a unique charm with this game which will attract even those who have never touched a Phantasy Star title.
Q: Why the Nintendo DS?
A: Our goal is to reach beyond the current fans by broadening the age range.
Q: Why include ZERO in the title?
A: We intend for it to represent a new beginning to the series as well as give it a more "story-like" quality. The similarities between the abbreviations for PS0 and PSO were intended to appeal to the fans of PSO.
Q: Will you be able to play with unknown people over Wi-Fi?
A: Of course. (No specific mention is made concerning the use of friend codes.)
Q: Will peripherals like the earphones be compatible with this game for voice chat?
A: PS0 will not support voice chat.
Q: Will PSO word select be included?
A: We're still waiting on more information.
Q: PSO's symbol chat?
A: No, but there will be visual chat.
Q: Will ZERO use internet time like PSO?
A: No.
Q: Will PS0's story connect with any previous Phantasy Star titles?
A: No connections. This is a completely new world.
Q: Out of the entire series, which game does PS0's mechanics most closely resemble?
A: They are closest to PSO's.
Q: Will things such as currency and technique names return from PSO?
A: Yes; the majority of item and technique names will remain the same between games.
Q: Taking into consideration the younger crowd that will play this game, is the degree of difficulty being taken down?
A: There were some changes, but no specifics were given.
Q: What is the sales point of PS0 toward PSO Ep.I&II fans?
A: Whether playing alone or as a group of four, we want people to know they can play with others around the world all the time. And even though the world of this game is different, we hope that it still evokes feelings of nostalgia and brings back fond memories.

A: No connections. This is a completely new world.
Assumption:
They are fools!
Demonstration:
1) They had an rpg series with an unique storyline.
2) The storyline was incomplete.
3) They choose to set the game exactly where the fans thought the story would be continued.
4) They call this game PS Zero, as a prequel.
5) And do they have simply decided to don't put any connection?
Thesis:
They are fools!
Is there no possibility for mailing the developers? If there was, then everyone who wants a connection could mail them about it, so that they could probably change their mind, if there's actually enough time for that. I mean, PSP ties in with PSU, so why can't PS0 tie in with PSO?

I'm just happy we're actually getting a PSO style game for the DS. It's like my ultimate dream.
I don't care about the story, I don't care about continuity; the only reason I loved PSO like I did was down to the community, the rare drops and rampaging through levels with friends.
As long as they have those things, they can do what they bloody well like with the story.
It's more PSO. And more PSO (especially in handheld form) is truly an excellent thing in my book.
So basically, viva la PSO!

I would love to see quests in the vein of Festival By the Beach, Rappy's Holiday and Towards the Future though.
I have to question the longevity of the online appeal if it is without new quests now and again.

Well, its certainly possible, since the DS can download content from another DS, though I'm not sure if any game has done that over the net as of yet. (Maybe the Animal Crossing-not sure how that did WiFi)
Edit:After a brief bit of thinking, the DS is certainly capable (Going with the prior mention of Animal Crossing, it would have had to load a persons town into RAM to let you visit. The dialogue, maps, enemies, and rewards for a DLed mission can't possibly be significantly larger than that, can they?) The question of whether SEGA will make use of that possibility remains unanswered, however.

As much as the story from PSO could probably be continued in some way, I think it's worth nothing that Episode III did essentially wrap most of it up. I actually think a prequel might be more interesting than a post-Ep.3 storyline, but all in all it's a PSO-style game, which is what makes me happy.

PS0 will probably be my last one, and ONLY because my DS has been lacking use lately as anything other than a GBA player. Especially in the online department. Unless something drastic happens anyhow. On the bright side, however, I am looking forward to hearing more about the new RPG Rieko Kodama is working on. After her work on the classic series and Skies of Arcadia, I've been finding myself much more a fan of her work - rather than that of Phantasy Star in general. Hopefully it gets a real chance to fulfill it's potential rather than getting hamstringed by Sega corporate.

Still I' m more a fan of PS than Kodama.

Well, I won't argue that the characters and plotline in Skies of Arcadia were rather simplistic - but considering the direction most J-RPGs have taken in the last decade (at least), I felt that Skies of Arcadia was a much welcomed breath of fresh air. Vyse, while not being very deep or growing much throughout the storyline, managed something that not many RPG main characters can do - he stayed interesting and entertaining throughout the entire game despite being already more or less fully developed right from the outset.
And really, when you cut to the core of it, that's all that truly matters. Was the storyline entertaining? Was the game fun and addictive? Were the characters likable? A resounding yes on all three points I think.
As much as the story from PSO could probably be continued in some way, I think it's worth nothing that Episode III did essentially wrap most of it up. I actually think a prequel might be more interesting than a post-Ep.3 storyline, but all in all it's a PSO-style game, which is what makes me happy. ~ RubyEclipse
Meh, Ep III's storyline was pretty jakey and didn't fit well into the continuity. In a lot of ways, I think it really cheapened PSO's storyline. Especially Endu's storyline. (Although I did like Break/Lura/Sil'fer's storyline) It didn't really tie much up, because it didn't really address the core of the issues Ragol faced. That being, just what IS Dark Falz, and where did he come from? What was the origin of the SpaceShip ruins? This is something that Phantasy Star IV really shined on, with the only loose ends being the Alissa III and Neo-Palm... which could have springboarded nicely into PSO had Sonic Team decided to do so.
PS0, I think, would definitely have made a good prequel to PSO had ST decided to go that route. I also think that PSU would have made an excellent prequel to the classic PS series had the development team taken the storyline in a different direction. After all, it was several millions of years between the time the Great Light created the protectors of the Seal and the start of PSI. Plenty of time for highly advanced civilizations to arise and crumble. Since the final form of the Profound Darkness was female, and PSO's Dark Falz set a precedence for the Darkness seeking a corporeal host, I think it would have been the perfect bittersweet ending to PSU fans of the classic series (or maybe just me) have been clamoring for to see Karen Erra sacrifice herself to darkness in order to seal it away (semi)permanently. Her body and soul consumed and tortured as a host of the darkness for time immemorial until freed by the heroes at the end of PSIV. It would also help explain the somewhat de-centralized nature of the Profound Darkness in PSO, why the Profound Darkness as a single entity arose from the collective consciousness of a multitude of fallen spiritual beings, as well as Dark Falz's urgent need to find a host in an effort to reform the Profound Darkness.
Q: Will PS0's story connect with any previous Phantasy Star titles?
A: No connections. This is a completely new world.
This is just silly IMO. There is no connection to previous Phantasy Star games, but PS0 apparently takes place on Earth and it's Moon? What the shit? Earth has already played a central role in the Phantasy Star series. Why place the game on Earth if there is no connection? Any random Earthlike planet would do fine. They might as well have just placed the game on Palma and then said there was no connection.
Final thought. Though I doubt it would sell well, should Sega of Japan ever decide to make a definitive RTS of their own - I think a pre-PSI Phantasy Star title set on Palma during the unification wars lead by Weizz Landale would make an excellent setting. Space travel was already fairly mature in PSI's time, so it could even include small campaigns on the other planets to some degree via primitive space travel.
Sounds interesting, Sinue. It's really moronic of them to place it on such a nice setting, and then not put up a connection. But, although I highly doubt it, with so many working theories, wouldn't it be possible that they're lying to us the whole time and at some point make a game, that connects the whole series? I know the chances that we can expect such a twist from SEGA are low, but who knows? And also if there's no connection, I'd still rather be thinking up my own theories and listen to others instead of hearing that shit from SEGA.

Do we have any word yet on how Nintendo is going to ruin the experience with their heavy online regulations?
Is there going to be a monthly fee?
Gah so many questions so little info.
A Monthly fee on a DS game?
Very unlikely

Chances are the only references to prior Phantasy Star games will be through vague storyline details (the Dark Falz seal being kind of similar to the three planets from old Phantasy Stars, for example) and rare weapons (such as Nei's Claw and the like).
Also, Dark Falz himself (if he's in the game, anyway).
I also wouldn't be surprised if they stuck the Forest or someplace in the game somewhere.
Or the original PSO costumes.
Or DB's Saber.
Lots and lots of DB's Saber.

online regulations? they said u can play with completely random people :)
also they said this game is being focused more on younger audience i believe so i dont think they'd put a monthly fee on a game like that lol

Hm, interesting.
Too bad I do not have a DS yet; I will be sure to obtain one soon though! Phantasy Star Zero sounds really awesome to me.

Sonic Team refuses to make an official connection in case they screw the plot with all the possible errors they could make, but it's obvious there are connections or that they tried to put them, in PSO they pre-designed Searren (Wren in PSIII), why would they design this character it they didn't think to connect PSO with PSIII? but that was the sonic team 10 years ago, now I doubt a lot of their talent...

I really like that art, and we can finally get a good look at the red haired girl at the top.
Thanks man,great find once again.

I like it! Whatever happened to Akikazo Mizuno though? He was a dude.
The red haired Newman in the background (I'm assuming as such because of those things on her head) must have something to do with the story mode. Probably this game's equivalent of Rico or Flowen, I'd wager.
Ahh, I see RAcaseal. And I guess it's not a cut off newman ear anyway. Nice pic, thanks Espio!

Oh man, I just bought a DS without knowing a new PSO game was coming out for it. Is this a coincidence or has god finally accepted me. I'll never do a sin again! *sob*

Here are a few quick details from a recent news post at Shougai PSO (http://www.g-heaven.net/pso/topics/080928a.html).
* Online play will be free.
* Still aren't any details on how (or if) friend codes will be used.
* Dungeons will be like PSO and PSU where there are multiple random variations of an area.

This is precisely what I wanted to hear.

Not sure if I get what that's supposed to mean. PSO and PSU?
So, will they be more like PSO in that the map was always the same but you started in different areas of it? and with the signature rooms you always passed through? (caves waterfall room, ruins 2 epic room, etc)
Or...like PSU with the excessively open areas (even when you're inside), different maps, and no distinguishing rooms worth mentioning?
personally I hope they take the PSO approach :P

Little tidbits keep rolling in (http://www.g-heaven.net/pso/topics/080930d.html).
* The latest issue of Gemaga is reporting that wireless play will support only 2-4 players, despite previous reports of allowing solo play over a wireless connection. This brings into question how players will meet one another for online play.
* The chain battle system is party-based. Chains add up as each party member attacks an enemy.

@saphion, awesome new graphics? a concept art and a story splash screen are awesome graphics? for a ds? i'm sorry but the graphics capabilities for the DS are pretty low. I had one and played it on and off for about 2 years, and beside 2-d games, or games that were going for simple shaded 3-d, any game that has bitmapped textures is going to look poor. especially when compaired to the PSP or console.. I know you can't really compare to console, as DS is not a console, but with such small screens and the graphics not really too nice.. I just wish they would pump all the energy and money from this and PS:P into PSU, so PSU could actually expand and get better......

Well I think they're super awesome.
But then, anything regarding PSO/PS0 is super awesome to me. I'm probably not the best judge of these things.

I'm sure that there will be character customization, so you won't HAVE to look like a cowboy ranger.
Alex will definately be coming back as his HUmar self.

I wonder if HUmar have huge feet in this one?
