I think one of the Mac OS updates was 80 MB. Thank god I have cable.

It wasn't a massive file, but... I once downloaded an Ocarina of Time ROM, and the only server I could find that actually let me get it gave me 300 bytes per second for the WHOLE FRIGGING DOWNLOAD.

It was terrible.

But the real kicker was that none of the mac N64 emulators could even run the ROM, and of course I discovered this AFTER painfully downloading the whole thing.... ugh. (And this was when I had dialup, which kicked me off quite often)

Future Cops movie.
684 MB (718,078,030 bytes)
That's broadband.

On dial-up... the single biggest download... would be... Windows update. ARGH Over 25mb...

Back on 56k I was grabbing un-released, sub-titled anime that isn't state-side. I downloaded quite afew which were over 300megs, and I would never download anything under 150megs.

I also downloaded the Ragnarok Online client..luckily it was corrupted so I never had to suffer through it. o_O

...then I got broadband and it was so much easier.

Hmm, probably several SVCDs off IRC that shall remain nameless to protect the innocent. *shifty eyes* That would be... 4 packs of 800MB files, 3 packs of 800MB files and 2 packs of 800MB files within one week. That's somewhere around 7.2 gigs! So uhhh... you can probably tell that I make good use of my bandwidth. o_O

Back on 56k, I even downloaded about a gig of anime within 2 weeks or so. How'd I achieve that, you ask? ... I'm still not sure.

What's the largest thing I've downloaded that is not questionable in legality? Redhat Linux distros, that's about 6 CD's worth at about 700MB per.

Video prossessing information to be edited and modified for a 24-hour a day, six day convention I was doing TV work for: 2,813 gigs broken up into several 600 gig files before download.

OC-12 connections and large SCSI storage devices are usefull.

Oh, I almost forgot about music... I'm an electronica freak, so naturally I have a whole lot of DJ mixes on my hard drive. Some of those are around 200MB depending on length and bitrate. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif Biggest one on my hard drive at the moment is 159MB, a two hour Essential Mix from 1994 by Leftfield.

Lucky punk...OC-12 would come in handy for my...movies.

Anyways, the largest file I have ever downloaded was about 1 GB in size. I believe it was the Matrix, but I'm not sure...
